mcer1
There are some situations during an IP game where there is no way to change the pitcher. Anyone with any info on this, please reply.
big shmooz
Can you be a bit more specific? For instance, if you have sent your manager to the mound & still have the same batter batting, you are not allowed to change the pitcher. But this is a rule in the MLB & has nothing to do with an inability. Anyway, be more specific & maybe somebody can help you.
mcer1
Actually it is just random. No visits to the mound, no apparent reason, just random. FOr some reason, there are situations where you can't even pause the game with escape. It is not a rule or something done prior to my knowledge. The game won't pause or anything. It is very weird. I have heard of many people who play direct IP having this issue.

I have heard of many people who play direct IP having this issue. I've had the same thing happen on PS2, but it's not random. The game only lets you have a certain number of quick menu accesses/pauses per half inning (3 or 4, not sure which). If you use them all up, you can't open the in-game menu OR pause the game. It can be a real pain late because of the warming up-mound visit-actual substitution process that takes 3 pauses by itself. Never mind those of us who like to adjust our defense.... It might be different for IP, but this is just my observation from the console game. I'd imagine it's the same for EASO. mcer1
I'll pay attention and see if that is it. I appreciate the feedback. I will rerport back any findings. If anyone else has any input on the subject, please share. Thanks again
fakejacy
If your manager has been ejected, then you can't decide all the substitutions, including pitchers and batters.
scholt
yes you cannot pause the game more than 3 times, this includes looking at balls/strikes, mound visits, checking stats, warming up pitchers EVERYTHING. also true, if your manager got the showers you cant sub
Jeeper
You are only allowed to view any menu once during an inning. This is to prevent abuse by people wanting to change players, settings, etc excessively during the game.
Tally
Sometimes during ip games, I can do everything I want. Ok so I'll send a pitcher to the bullpen Then I call it on the mound, and boom the game says I'm ejected for unfair behavior! Sometimes it works and sometimes no Most of the time I have to play all the match with only one pitcher, because if I change it the game may crash ...
