However, I followed your instructions and when I loaded the game with LA in it it would crash into my desktop. I experimented and copied a default model.big into the data folder and it was fine. Maybe its something I am doing wrong....I copied the files,compressed them...The only thing that might be a bit weird is the rebuild...did that but nothing really happened except a brief moment of the hourglass icon on my mouse arrow. rolie Posted May 16, 2004 Author Share Posted May 16, 2004 make sure you compressed all the files. it should say YES if done right next to the file on the right column. scrolling down is a pain sometimes if u don't compress them, then your game will crash whenever the cpu loads the player edited. iv'e had that happen to me testing. so always check the right column. another thing too. not all files in biggui need to be compressed. the only files i know that might not need compression are the high res uniforms. But i had to compress a lot of other files after backing up models.big BigGui doesn't really rebuild all that good sometimes. you have to wait awhile and there is no telling when it is done. but for me it takes about 30-45 seconds i guess. i never close the program untill the hourglass is completely done moving. so it could be that. does your game crash when you load into the main menu? or does it crash when the actual baseball game starts? if its when the game starts then its definitely one of the graphic files being uncompressed or distorted from not rebuilding correct. if its distorted. you can check the files in Eagraph to see if they look correct. youll notice if they are distorted. then youll have to reload it back in biGUi. hmmnn? i wonder if anyone else is having difficulties. it;s my first face pack, maybe the directions wernt clear or something,dunno. i always back up my models.big file. i have so many mods in it. as far as more teams. i dunno about whole teams. each cyberface takes at least an hour or two to do and test but i'm getting a lil quicker i guess. it's a long process because oedit is a pain with it vertices and zooming, selecting. i could probably do single requests. i'm currently doing my uniform poll winners, but if their is a player u want done i could prolly do a a few. thanx for your comments, sorry bout the crash. iv'e had that happen to me learning how to use the editing progs PLUR Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I think I will use eagraph to look at each individual file. Anyway I did make sure that all the files were compressed. I had a little experience with this after figuring out how to do Kaz Matsui's cyberface mod. Anyway I will try again..... Actually I do have a few requests. Especially guys with the big hair...ie pedro and manny. Can the hair be done? CAn i then rule out the fact that it did not rebuild properly. Also do i need to check the orl and ord files..they are there but i cant see them at all. The faces look great by the way! Did you check in bigGui under all the loaded fsh ord orl files to see YES under the compressed tab? sometimes some filez aren't compressed. even files that wern't updated in my zip including any fxxxx.fsh and uxxxx.fsh and cxxxx.fsh. i know its a pain to scroll through em all but that copuld be the problem if its not distorting. btw does the game load at all from the the start ie the main menu when you first lauch the game or does it crash when you actuallyplay a game aftyer youve selected your teams? nevermind last question i just saw post. ok thats i good thing now cuz we know some graphics filez are not compressed right. not necssararily mean any of my filez but other graphic files not cimpressed from previous mod updates. check under the right tab in bigGUI. bigbully Posted May 16, 2004 Share Posted May 16, 2004 you've gotta be patient when you rebuid...it will take about a minute or so. when it's done, it will flicker for a second and you should be able to choose any line in the program - you'll know it rebuilt sucessfully then. Palwudi, Did you have to do anything different to get them to work? I'm having the exact same problem you are having, and I am making sure the rebuild completes. I have tried it three times, and each time it boots me out to the desktop when the actual game play starts (I am able to get into the menus). I did look at the faces in MVPEdit, and two showed up as face not available. The others looked OK. Any other thoughts? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I don t think that my mistake was waiting for the rebuild to finish. It actually takes quite little time to rebuild the files. Also make sure that you check the files that are compressed some of the other files do become somehow uncompressed.......which happened previously. Always make sure that you start with the orig models.big file( copy it from the CD)so if it doesnt work you wouldnt lose all the other face/uni mods! I was making sure I was doing the rebuild, and that the files were compressed, but I was also trying to short cut it and do them all at once. That may be where I am going wrong. I will try to do each one individually and see if that helps. I can't wait to see how they turn out (although in my world, the Kevin Brown for Jeff Weaver trade never happened. ) Yeah, the first time I did lose my uniform mods, but I was thinking about dumping some of them anyway because the hi res unis slow my system down some (not working on a state of the art PC). So it just allowed me to clean things up a bit. Rolie, I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for your hard work, too! It really does help add to the realism of the game. Just off the top of my head...Manny Ramirez needs a redo. Just a thought...was watching the game between the Padres and the Cubs yesterday and realized that there are alot of players with hairs very similar to that of your Jared Weaver Mod.... Was the hair hard to mod...because you could apply it to Kyle Farnsworth, Todd Hollinsworth of the CUbs and Khalil Greene of the PaDRES...THEY WOULD look neat!
