paul w, the vibes were out. i was thinking the same thing. one player

with older type glasses would be nice and he could be used for several

of the past players: dom d., torgeson, dillinger, etc.

for now #239 is decent for dom d.

I am a graphic artist and I would love to help make faces of classic players if someone could point out a tutorial or explain it to me. I'm only interested if there's a way to work from a photo of the player and make a really good face, like Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez have in EA's version. Right now Phil Rizzuto is a generic face and Reggie Jackson is hitting without his sunglasses. I'd love to make a good Joe DiMaggio if someone hasn't already. And also 70's players like Graig Nettles. If you hadn't noticed, I'm a Yankees fan. Anyway, if anybody wants those faces made, please help me learn how to do it, thanks. And if not, thanks anyway.

Excellent! I know there are guys like AlexTony here who can assist on the face instructions. If you want to do Dimaggio, take a look at Posada in the game...pretty darn close!!

Thank you, now I have to figure out how to read forum messages, haha. just kidding I hope. if I can figure it out, I'll probably start with Rizzuto. BTW I don't know what forum to post this in, but I think Rizzuto's numbers are wrong. he hits WAY too many homers in the game and doesn't field, bunt or run as well as his peers have said he could in the tv documentary I saw. He was supposed to be the best baserunner in the AL when Jackie Robinson was the best in the NL, and pitchers listed him as their favorite fielder to have behind them. He's been the spring training bunting coach for the Yankees my whole life. Anyway, that has nothing to do with faces. Thanks again.

Does anyone kow how to use the fifa creation program to view faces in the game? How do I know the numbers and looks of the in-game faces so I can mod them? I'm trying to follow this tutorial that says to use the FIFA creation program for viewing, and I don't know what I should be trying to view or how to go about it. It seems to be looking for pkg files. See, I don't really have a day to figure this out, but if I had a step by step how to, I could probably handle the photoshop end of it. Isn't there some online web site with large player portraits I read about once? The larger the file, the better.

YES Thurman Munson, I would play with him on my team for sure if he were in the game and looked right.

Sorry to post again so soon, but another question--how does one give the player longer hair? I know it's possible because of this year's Johnny Damon. If I did Munson, I'd want him to have 1970's hair, which was messier than modern hair. Also, it would be so much fun to do Ted Simmons with long hair or Oscar Gamble with the giant fro. Those are probably not possible, but I just thought I'd ask since I'm on a fact-finding mission.

Okay, I have successfully entered my friend John's face into the game (see him bat for the Tampa Yankees at http://www.peterbernard.com/jbbaseball4.jpg ), so now I feel ready to take on the old-timers. What is the order of importance? AlexTony's requests take precedence, then let's make a list and see how many of these I can get done in the next 2 weeks, because right now is a good time for me to be doing this, and next month might not be good. Anybody requesting a face, if you can please also look for good shots of the player, I can use direct front shots and side shots (profiles) but mainly shots from the front. You can send me mail at pbseriousmail@yahoo.com but please put mvp 2005 in the header, thanks. is someone else doing Thurman Munson yet? I'm trying to get Mays, Williams, DiMaggio pix right now to start.

Capa-- are you part of the campaign to put Maris' 61 back as the most ever in a season? Actually, I seriously think Maris still holds the record.

re: photos: I used to have a collection of yearbooks and baseball cards that are sadly all lost, so any help with old pix of player faces is appreciated. I had the complete 1976 and most of 77 and 78 Topps collections, they would have been exactly what I needed for this, oh well.

Hard to get good photos of Mays and Joltin Joe on the web. I guess one has to purchase prints (color) scan them and work from there. Believe me, its just impossible to get good headshots in color of past players.

Jogar--yes, Ebay is the best source so far but the shots are small and grainy usually, it's all a matter of luck. I want to work tomorrow through next Sunday making as many old-time faces as possible and I hope to also have a tutorial by next Sunday of how I did it in the shortest version possible. Right now I'm stiull confused about how I did it but I have it written down and I hope it condenses itself during the week. I found that not all FSH editors are the same, and I THINK it was fshed that finally worked for me, but don't quote me on that just yet, I'm still dizzy.

Peter,

AlexTony scanned a ton of oldtime baseball cards for his effort last year to create portraits. Would these work for you for faces? They are great color shots...

Capa, some might--he's sent me some to get me started and says he has more. He's also the one who turned me onto Ebay. Thanks! I'm just always looking for bigger better ones, the guys who make current players don't know how easy they have it in terms of getting pix.
