five
Don't talk about no-cd patches on here. Just make a clone-cd image of your original disc and mount it with Daemon.
Pirate
anyone try the new patch and then apply the no-cd after?? i hate having to remember to bring my cd to and from work, i play mvp on my laptop on the train(i'm a junkie), so i like the crack for ease of use. i once forgot my disc in my desk and couldn't play at home. As much as I hate the No-Cders out there that has to be the most sound reasoning for it, that would stink to leave it at work, then again you can use CD-1 or 2 and still run the game. I also thought at first you played the game at work I wanted an application.
HaloFan
QUESTION: Does this change the name of the Angels to Los Angeles Angels? I have never had a stuttering problem so i am not sure I even want this patch. Thanks folks. No thank God.

ChrisS
Will this erase any old mods on my game? And do I need to have patch 1 installed 1st?
telemudcat
I added MVP 2005 in the Nvidia Display Properties, and now can specifically customize that game alone. I have vsynch turned on in Display Props as well as within the game. I tried all sorts of options "except" the application contolled AA and AF. I'm at work now, but will try it when I get home later today. ez I'm moronic when it comes to those game profiles in the Display Properties. However I know setting it on 'application controled' for AA & AF wont do donkey. It'll basically give you no AA or AF, and it looks like garbage. You tried the 'application controled' on vsync, and you still had the speed problem? I left my AA & AF at default (2q and 4x, or whatever they are), and the game runs fine, no overspeed problems. qpontiac
I'm happy for the people who had stuttering, the problem is now fixed...I have a question though, I haven't downloaded either patch, and I don't have any stuttering issues, but should I still dl it? Well, my only advice would be "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Leave well enough alone because, at this point, I think the only thing that was dealt with by EA was the stuttering issue. ez

I also thought at first you played the game at work I wanted an application. well i have on my lunch break! one game under 30 min. and then a quick chicken parm, oh that sa nice lunch! you can play with both cd's? i swear it always told me to put in disc 2. still i don't want to leave at work, since you never know when a co-worker is out for a jack move. i know no-cd talk is prohib-chatter but i was not asking for one, just wondering if anyone else out there does like them for easy access. usually a patch will have a new .exe file that contains most of the patch fix, so installing it and going back to the no-cd might not have the patch take effect. there are a few positions open :D
APR
Ok, I installed the patch, and it works like a charm, totally getting rid of stuttering, but now, I cannot play online, it says my game is out of date. Is this because it hasn't been officially released yet or have I done something wrong??
Kriegz
EA thank you a million you don't know how happy I am!!!!!! dales
Here's a fix for the refresh rate in case some of you don't know. Goto Start->Run->Type - dxdiag, click on more help->overide->Then put in your overide value (max your monitor can do at the refresh rate you want to use) Click ok and exit. No need for any refresh rate Lock programs. This might only to work for ATI videocards btw. For anyone that's still having problems with the speed of the game try this. It worked for me (I set it to 65) and now the game plays unbelievably smooth. Really, try this out and you'll be amazed by what this game looks like. Thanks, Smokin Joe! :D

amuroray2000
For updating the DAT files from before, can you just overwrite the DAT files patched up already with the saved MBE files from the previous patch? Or do you have to completely create a new MBE file from the new patched DAT files? To make it more clearly, will my old MBE files from patch 1 overwrite the fixes that were made in patch 2? ezdriver
I'm curious as to how long that new patch was actually posted on the EA site. Must have been quick because I haven't seen it there all day. I just played a complete game with the new patch and overall it was very smooth. I was amazed on replays to see only one ball instead of three being thrown from the outfield. The pace of the game seemed to be faster, and made me wish that the old HH "Game Pace" option was here. Oh, well. Off I go for another game. Once again, thanks EA and BIGMEANPOSSUM over at SimCentral. ez
Pirate
This happened a couple years ago with the NBA-Live series an unofficial patch reached the masses and was pulled, then later released officially a few weeks later. But the first unofficial patch solved huge issues in the game and helped patchers patch.

Can't you simply set this in your Video Card settings? I have set my refresh rate to everything from 100 to 60 and the "speed problem" is still there. I guess we should keep in mind that this is not really the "official" patch.

I have set my refresh rate to everything from 100 to 60 and the "speed problem" is still there. I guess we should keep in mind that this is not really the "official" patch. You can try and set it in your video card settings (which I tried). But using FRAPS I could see that no matter what my refresh rate was set to the frame rate was locked at 85 (way too fast for the game). So by doing this I manually set the limit to 65 and the game plays butter smooth now. Just try this and you'll see that it works.
