peterbernard
As I've said on the faces thread, I'm trying to learn how to make faces but I just don't get what this one online tutorial is talking about, mainly because it's a tutorial about a hockey game I never played. I think I get the idea how to do the faces in photoshop, I just don't get how to get to the photoshop stage of the game, and then what to do afterward. But I'm very interested in doing faces. I know graphics but not numbers and stats, so I'm kind of a reverse version of alot of you guys, haha. PLEASE help me, I'm not bright with file conversions or even understanding the difference between a big and a fsh.
chuckm1961
I would be happy to help. Just get in touch. My strengths are attention to detail, ability to go over baseball numbers for hours without getting bored, and passion to make this game fantastic for classic gaming. My drawback is that I'm not the one to call for any graphics editing. And that I'm brand-new to MVP for PC. But I modded HH for three years, so I get the idea. MVPEdit is incredible, and I can't wait to learn how to use it. chuckm1961@sbcglobal.net

deadballfan
Of course count me in! The 1890s Orioles will be my main team package contribution. From what I've read, a couple of the teams I was looking at doing are in capable hands. I may tinker with a possible team from the 1880s, but it would require a 3-4 year roster to get 22 guys, mostly because of the 2 or 3 man pitching "staffs" back then. I had to pull one guy from 1895 and 2 from 1896 as it was for the 1894 Orioles. I'll have time for smaller pieces if people wish to delegate something my way. Will be pretty busy May thru August with softball and golf, but there's always time to mod while listening to the Tigers or Cubs on MLB Gameday radio. And I'll be more than happy to throw in my two cents worth on most any subject , particularly as to why Rudy York should be the 3rd catcher/4th 1B on the Tigers All Time team

stecropper
Donniebaseball & deadballfan, I am sure Fuzzone will be contacting each of you for help. Thanks so much!!! We are busy on this project and certainly do appreciate yall helping out here. Thanks, Don Donniebaseball I would think it would be safe to start with some Oldtime Baseball Themes as I feel pretty sure we will need them. Are Themes always by Team are just general ones for the game?
stecropper
Some of the best Oldtime Baseball music I have ever heard came from the game by Stromfront Studios Inc titled Oldtime Baseball. It was part of the Tony LaRussa Series in the mid 90s I think and it allowed the user to play with any Oldtime Team from baseball's history. Great game - even had a time machine to travel you back into the specific era of baseball you wanted to revisit. I have tried my darn est to convert that music to a WAV format to implement into MVP 2005 but without any success. I have been able to convert it with several audio conversion tools I downloaded but with each one the result was way way too fast and unrecognizable. If anyone has the talent, interest & time to help us to convert those RAW audio files from Oldtime Baseball to a WAV format acceptable by MVP 2005 it would be very much appreciate and I am sure by the many that have never heard that particular Oldtime Baseball Music. I will gladly send you the RAW audio files (about 18 of them) from the Oldtime Baseball CD or even mail you a copy of the Oldtime Baseball game itself in case you can convert it by recording it while it is playing on your system. The game does play on an XP system even today. That game is not marketed any longer so sending you a copy should be legal and if not I will send you a copy of the original game which I have 3 of (always wanted backup for that superb game!!!). peterbernard
Thanks for all the help, fellas, you're all really swell. I'll save time with a short thank you list for my first readme, I guess, so there's a bright side to everything. It seems Total Classics wants everyone but me and Kraw. Maybe I'll do faces for a different web site and Fuzz can insult me with his next release! Then I'd be famous! Ha. Maybe Fuzz is mad because I skipped his prom but I hate dressing up, it wasn't personal. sheesh... Actually, I think I'm figuring it out on my own ... jscand
What would happen if you just played the game in window mode and used the sound recorder to record a .wav file?
peterbernard
You'd get a recording of the game, assuming you had the volume levels set right. Or you could download fraps and get a video of the game. Is this about classic baseball?
stecropper
I haven't tried recording a WAV file while the game is running. I'm really not that familiar with recording on this system but will give it a go. I do already have fraps but not familiar with it recording sound only. I know it records sound associated with video so that might be a good thing to try also. Yes, Oldtime Baseball was totally about Classic Baseball. All I can say is, for this endeavor, we need as many good, talented people as we can get. I hope you won't be driven away by anyone or anything. I can't comment on what you are experiencing because I don't know. But trust me, I know your skills are both needed and wanted for this project. I hope you stay.
