merlin
Hi everyone,I am currently playing MVP with my keyboard....I know, I know, I'll get a dual analog gamepad soon I hope! However, I am finding that the computer swings freely at almost any pitch I throw. Can anyone offer insight to the gameplay tuning options? Do they work? MarkB
If you set the CPU Swing Rate to -10, they'll swing less. Set it to -20, even less. You get the idea. :)
merlin
Hey MarkB, tried it, works a bit better, I just can't seem to strike anyone out! Maybe getting a gamepad will help me pitch the outside corners a bit more?
MarkB
Yep, it will. With the keyboard you can only choose the area horizontally out of the strike zone, but with a gamepad you will have full movement of the pitches and can put them closer to the zone, resulting in more effective pitches. A trick I used when I played with the keyboard (6 + months in total) was that the CPU often chases sliders and cutters thrown horizontally away to right handers and in to left handers. Try this and see if you can get any strikeouts. :)

MarkB
I'm using the Playstation2 controller with a USB adapter. It is much better than using the keyboard. :)
merlin
Cool, I've heard that the Saitek P880 works really well too.
MarkB
It's really what you prefer, but I recall hearing some complaints about the build quality of the P880.
