Jitter
Not sure how many of you use the PSX to USB adapter to play, but if you find the right analog not doing what its supposed to according to the manual here is a fix. For some reason up was assigned to left and right was assigned to down. In your controller config you need to change these lines to this. VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_RIGHT= axis- 4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_LEFT= axis+ 4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_UP= axis+ 3 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_DOWN= axis- 3 Here is a list of the full file w/ everything function perfect. I also had to flip the top and bottom L/R buttons, the left and right push buttons on the analog, and the start and select button. profile= USB_Game_Device device= USB_Game_Device player= 1 number_of_buttons= 12 number_of_povs= 1 number_of_axis= 4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_START= button 9 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_SELECT= button 10 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_CROSS= button 2 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_CIRCLE= button 3 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_SQUARE= button 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_TRIANGLE= button 4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L1= button 6 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R1= button 5 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L2= button 8 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R2= button 7 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L3= button 12 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R3= button 11 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_UP= pov0 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_DOWN= pov180 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_LEFT= pov270 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_RIGHT= pov90 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_RIGHT= axis- 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_LEFT= axis+ 1 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_UP= axis+ 2 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_DOWN= axis- 2 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_RIGHT= axis- 4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_LEFT= axis+ 4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_UP= axis+ 3 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_DOWN= axis- 3 VPAD_PITCH_1= button 2 VPAD_PITCH_2= button 3 VPAD_PITCH_3= button 1 VPAD_PITCH_4= button 4 VPAD_PITCH_5= button 5 VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_FIRST= button 3 VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_SECOND= button 4 VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_THIRD= button 1 VPAD_PITCH_OUT= button 2 VPAD_THROW_BALL= not_assigned -1 VPAD_INTENTIONAL_WALK= button 12 VPAD_INTENTIONAL_HITBATTER= button 7 VPAD_PITCH_HISTORY_OPEN= button 12 VPAD_SWING_NORMAL= button 2 VPAD_SWING_BUNT= button 11 VPAD_CHARGE_MOUND= button 4 VPAD_FIELD_THROW_FIRST= button 3 VPAD_FIELD_THROW_SECOND= button 4 VPAD_FIELD_THROW_THIRD= button 1 VPAD_FIELD_THROW_HOME= button 2 VPAD_FIELD_SWITCH= button 5 VPAD_FIELD_RELAY_THROW= button 6 VPAD_FIELD_CUTOFF_THROW= button 8 VPAD_FIELD_FAKE_RUNDOWN_THROW= button 8 VPAD_RUNNER_FIRST_SELECT= button 3 VPAD_RUNNER_SECOND_SELECT= button 4 VPAD_RUNNER_THIRD_SELECT= button 1 VPAD_RUNNER_RUNFIRST= pov90 1 VPAD_RUNNER_RUNSECOND= pov0 1 VPAD_RUNNER_RUNTHIRD= pov270 1 VPAD_RUNNER_RUNHOME2SCORE= pov180 1 VPAD_BASERUNNER_ADVANCEALL= button 5 VPAD_BASERUNNER_RETREATALL= button
nojoke
I'm using the radio shack converter, and had problems with the right analog stick not doing what it was supposed. For example, I'd run to the wall and try to jump to rob a homer, and I would dive forward, that sort of thing. I change my config to the one referenced here, and it didn't fix my problem. Anyone have any other suggestions? Its a real pain because I never dive or jump for balls because I know I will end up badly out of position. Thanks, Joe
itjit
I suggest using the Logitech Dual Action Game Pad. It is basically a PS2 controller for the PC. You can get one for under $20.00 at Best Buy, and it works great! Here's a link to it: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1058188350409

If you have the cash, you can get the cordless version of it too. Real nice!
nojoke
Has the quality improved? I've read a number of people saying the sticks break after relatively little use. For instance, check out: http://www.circuitcity.com/rpsm/oid/80646/...lReview.do#tabs It is getting pretty rough reviews.
itjit
I've had mine for about a year with no problems. Great for Madden and MVP games.
spitoon
I had problems with a Wingman Rumblepad last year, but this one has been great.
thetruth10
good advice. i had a generic USB PSX/PS2 style type controller and I had the same problem. Never having played the MVP series before and using the slides, I was wondering whether I was really so dumb that I could never slide correctly. After testing it for awhile, I discovered I had this same problem, and went into the controller file and fixed it.

Jitter
I will never buy a logitec dual action controller again, what a piece of crap. I bought one last year for MVP and madden and it wore out in less than a year. The left analog was hitting the side of the controller before registering being moved. I tried taking it apart and sanding the area around the left stick so it would have more free movement, but it didnt work well and I lost a screw or 2 so now its in pieces. I was using a PS1 controller that i bought used and have had it for over 3yrs now and it still works fine. I ended up buying a new PS2 controller, and I got a new psx to USB adapter w/ vibration and it works great. My back up is a GERecoil pad which was $15 at walmart and has vibration and dual sticks.
