The Big Unit
1. Practice, practice, practice 2. If you already have bat contact and power maxed out and for some reason you STILL can't score runs (hard to believe), now try turning down the pitch speed. You already have the game tuned to an unrealistic level by maxing contact and power, so it won't hurt to further change things. Drop pitch speed down to -10 or -20. Maybe you'll see the pitches better. 3. Hit the ball where it's aimed. (Move joystick to the area of the zone the pitch comes in at). Good luck. Although, with contact and power maxed, anything you do hit will be a homer which won't be fun either.
qpontiac
How many games have you played total? MVP 2005 was my first MVP game, and it took me a while to get the hang of things, but do as Unit suggests, and you will eventually get your timing down
warnerwlf98
I was much the same way. My timing was way off. I found that I was way out in front of every pitch. I tried to fix this by using the hitting mini game and swinging when the ball was "in my kitchen." At least that's what I was telling myself. Now I hit at about one and a half homers a game (on average), but my power numbers are sort of low. To practice hitting you could play a 2 player game and just throw meatballs to yourself and get timing down. It helps.
