McDiddy
Hey guys, I have a problem in MVP Edit with the photos. Whenever I open the program is always says, "no picture found," so when I want to edit a photo, it wont let me. I heard that you fix that by changing the photo options, but when I try to go the tools/options is gives me a runtime '68' error and boots me out of the program. So thats my problem... anybody know the fix? Thanks.
McDiddy
In case anyone is wondering, I did my research before asking for the answer.... as far as I can tell nobody has presented a fix for this problem yet, someone even asked for help with the same problem earlier: http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?name=Foru...untime+68#92455
McDiddy
I tried Tool/Search For Errors.... Nothing. Should work, this is messed up. :? At first I thought my portraits file must be set to read only, but its not, so I dont know.

McDiddy
I know how to make the photos... I have the alphas and images all ready. I cant put them in the game though because MVP Edit isnt bringing up the photos.
McDiddy
I tried kraw's instructions for adding photos, but I couldnt get the install for that "Total Commander" program to work.
stecropper
McDiddy - make certain you are pointing the Tools/Options to the data direcetory and not the data/database directory. Those directories have to be reset when you are switching from exporting to the game (uses the database directory) and trying to pull up faces and portraits (uses the data direcotroy). McDiddy
How do I point the Tools/Options to the data directory? The program only lets me export to the data/database directory, otherwise I get a runtime '53' error.
Wreckbruin
I've been getting that same error, "Run time error: 68". I get this error as soon as I click options. Everything else in MVPEdit works, and I'm running Version 2005.4. Someone please help us.
Wreckbruin
Mcdiddy, is your hard drive mapped to the C: drive? Or do you have your primary hard drive (ie... where your MVP installation is) labeled as something else? My hard drive is the F: on my machine, it just now occurred to me that this might be the problem.
stecropper
McDiddy, In the Tools/Options area there is a window to point to the data directory when wanting to turn on and view portraits and faces. It right to the left of where you check the box for portraits and faces. Then when you want to export you need to repoint it to the database directory either there or during the export when it comes. It needs to be set properly for each of those two activities you are doing and they need to be set to different directories.
mastasports1
Yeah, if your MVP data folder in the tools>options box is on Data/Database for you can export easier, then photos will not show up (Because MVPedit will look for the photos in the data/database/frontend folder, which doesn't exist)
McDiddy
I cant even get to the Tools/Options area though, I get the runtime error! Thus, I cant change the setting. :|
McDiddy
Mcdiddy, is your hard drive mapped to the C: drive? My hard drive is the F: on my machine, it just now occurred to me that this might be the problem. That may have something to do with it. I got a new hardrive between MVP 2004 and 2005, and now I use the F: drive instead of C:. If that is indeed the problem, what pray tell would be the fix? McDiddy
This is one of the most annoying problems I've ever had with MVP... cant seem to get the photos to come up in MVP Edit still. I've tried everything! :x
Wreckbruin
Same here man, I have my hard drive as the F: Drive. Although I never used MVP Edit on the 2004 edition when I had C Drive as primary. I'm almost positive that is the problem, and most likely the only fix is RGlass to edit the code to make the options menu look in the F Drive. Any other ideas would be helpful. McDiddy
Yeah, that is most likely the problem. I've tried lots of other fixes, no go. I doubt I could move the game to another drive, my C: drive was completely replaced by the new F: drive. I guess I'll give rglass a e-mail about it. Wreckbruin
If he sends you a fix for this let me know. I experimented by installing MVP Edit on my laptop where the C drive is the primary hard drive and that solved it. I'm sure there is a fix in the code, there has to be a way to look for the hard drive and not the hard drive letter in the program.
BigPoppa
Wow am i glad i found this thread...having the exact same problem as you guys...and guess what? BigPoppa
OK guys, you were right! I went in to my admin options and changed my drive letter from F: to C: and whaddya know! Working perfectly now...i dont know if it will cause any problems to some of your programs, all i have on that drive are games and music. I tested them out and they seem to all be fine...hope that helps
Wreckbruin
I can't change the drive letter because it's my boot drive, it's so annoying. I have to work on the rosters on my laptop and transfer the .mbe files over to my gaming pc. McDiddy, did you hear from Rob Glass about a way to fix it yet? I've tried everything! :x Same thing here McDiddy...VERY FRUSTRATING !!!! I got some relief after I downloaded TC Phase 2 that included the cyber phases that I had previously downloaded (prior to Phase 2) and could'nt get to work in MVPEdit. The phase 2 installer did this for me autonatically. Grrrrrrrr, I just can't figure some of this mod stuff out
ben-c
i have the same problem, and i want to know if there´s a programm or mod where you can add/make portraits like mvpedit, becaue its getting really frustrating...
McDiddy
No word from Mr. Glass yet. I hate to bug him, I know he's a busy guy, but I think I'll send him another e-mail, maybe he missed the first one. I may have to resort to the same thing as you're doing, Wreckbruin. I installed MVP and MVP Edit on my laptop, I guess I can try and do my stuff on it here. I really doubt that I can change the name of my drive from F: to C:, because my F: drive is my replacement hardrive, and C: is the old one, which has some info in it, but it's rarely used.
