just a quick question, is the dusk sky staying or eventually going to be replaced with a day sky?

Hopefully it will be replaced with a day sky. After that, you'll just have to change the lighting.csv file.

And I agree with Pirate! This is going to the BEST mod ever!

8O 8O

And Big O- have you contacted five about the prospect of him making the real Fenway grass pattern?

Hey guys I finished the RF roof seats and I think they turned out pretty well. I was able to use the retired numbers to make up the Budweiser structure and used the back rows of the crowd to make up the roof crowd. I have also edited all the buildings and moved the Citgo sign back so the background actually looks like you would see it behind the Monster from field level. I also brought in a somewhat photo realistic pressbox and I plan on adding some more people to the .406 club using the method I used to make the RF roof crowd.

As for changing the sky I'm not sure if I will do this or not. I don't think that the lighting.csv changes the color of the walls at all or brightens up the stadium. I think it just lightens up the player model. I do plan on increasing the warning track width however.

I updated my site with pics for you guys following my progress and you can see them here. On another note being a newlywed, Mrs. Big O is demanding more QT and doesn't really see the point behind all my work and time that I put into modding. I hate to say this but if a few donations came my way she might allow me some more time to work on this. So if you want to help my cause my Paypal addy is jtrea81@verizon.net. Thanks again for all your comments! :)

Big O? This mod looks like it will be outstanding, but I am wondering how you were able to alter the roof? The reason I ask is because if it is possible to mod the roof, I wonder if the proper roof can be added to US Cellular, since EA completely neglected changes that were made prior to LAST SEASON!

I was able to use the retired numbers to make up the parts of the roof superstructure. I plan on making one bmp with all the numbers on it and using the ad part that used to be on the RF roof for that. I'm not sure if the roof could be done for US Cellular because any part that is moved to another location must be still viewable in the same frame otherwise it will disappear when panning to a certain viewpoint. This is the biggest limitation to what can be done. I haven't looked at US Cellular yet but I might take a crack at it if I get some more time, ie after Fenway, Oriole Park v.2.0.

IF the CITGO sign is animated and all adds are correct this might go down as one of the greatest mods I have ever seen. This includes Half-Life add-ons and Gran Prix Legends tracks/cars. Not trying to add any pressure but Fenway is baseball and if O nails it.....Legend status. Don't rush it dude, get it right.

I agree, spend some time with your wife, don't get stressed about this at all, because I'd rather it come out in October and be perfect rather than rushed.

But, still, beating Isle of Man in GPL? That would be one hell of a task. I really gotta learn how to convert GPL tracks into SCGT.

Got some more work done adding the scoreboard ads and graphics and the bullpen wall ads as well as the Dunkin Donuts and Ford ad. I also brought in a brand new John Hancock sign. The picture below can be seen in a higher res here.

Wow, the bottom of the 4 pictures (facing the press box and the .406 Club) looks like a photo!

I like the Jumbotron with the nod to Joe Castiglione! And the shadows of the lights on the Dunkin Donuts and Ford signs is sweet!

the green monster scoreboard is a bit screwed up in terms of alignment with the scores. Will that be fixed?

once again, amazing work :D

Yeah I still haven't tackled that yet. I might make a working scoreboard (with the lights lighting up and the font correct) seeing as though I have a good idea how to do that, or I might take it out completely for the first version. I haven't really decided yet.

Any chance of releasing what you have so far as a "Version .99"? :D

Even incomplete, this is tons better than the other update that is available. It kills me to see that OLE Shops ad and that FEDICOR ad.

Wow, that's just amazing. Utterly amazing.

The one thing I have noticed when screwing around with the stadium myself is the Dunkin Donuts sign lighting. It seems way too bright. Can you darken the ad?

It's the ingame lighting, you have to darken it a lot to make it look matte, but if the sun was shinning at that angle in real life the glare would be there. I hate the ingame lighting, but it is accurate.

Did you move those rows of seating to the upper deck by the Budweiser sign, or were they already there to begin with? I ask because EA screwed up with the Fridays Front Row at Miller Park, and I'm exploring ways to mod it correctly (when I get to it, of course ;))...

You probably didn't read all the way through my Angel Stadium thread, but hyman clued me into how to get around some of the crappy lighting effects in the game.

You need to use the latest version of OEdit (0.2.41), which is not easy because it makes the stadium backwards. But using .41 allows to to adjust the color applied to each vertex, so you can get rid of the washed out ads by replacing the color with the color used in a normal vertex.

I have both versions of OEdit installed now, 0.2.38 for normal editing, and 0.2.41 for the color correction.

Yep I moved the last row of the crowd in the grandstands for three sections up to the roof seats. You might say I upgraded their seats a little. The whole RF roof structure was missing in the original mod. I created the whole thing using the retired number parts. One other thing I did was I had to brighten the ads and crowd by changin the vertex color in the latest version of OEdit. Someone discovered this in HaloFan's thread (Edit: already one step ahead of you Halo :D ) and he used it so I figured I'd give it a try and it is really nice. Otherwise I would have had a dark crowd up there...

I was able to free up enough vertices to create the two RF ads behind Pesky's pole. I had to make both of these ads from scratch because I didn't have a good picture. I also put the retired numbers back using one graphic. I'm also not happy with the Mohegan Sun ad but that is about as big as it can get without major distortion. See below:

Lookin' great!

So, what kind of distortion occurs when you move the Mohegan Sun ad into its correct position?
