sammysb
Hi guys, I am trying to do mods... I have photoshop 7. Could someone please explain how to add transparency to backgrounds in .BMP files. I have tried everything. Even the Photoshop help menu. The transparency doesn't catch on and when I transfer the .bmp files to .fsh files using Fshed005, the black or white background still shows. I wa s wondering if someone could guide me step by step in order to "add" transparency to .bmp files. Thanks, Sammy
five
It's not possible to have transpariences with .bmps. You can just use the edit the alpha image. You could also use fshED to import a .png that has transparencies into your .fsh.

five
.PNG files support transparency by default, just add it and it's done.
sammysb
Doesn't work. Here is what I do. 1- Open photoshop 7. 2- Open a .png file. 3- The background is white. I want it to be transparent. What do I do????? Thanks, Sammy By the way, I have Fshed005 and I tried to add a .png file to a .fsh file and I didn't see the .png in the choice selection... five
Hit Ctrl - N and select Transparent instead of white. In fshED use graphic importer, instead of import. You will also need to change the 'type' of the fsh file.
sammysb
Hey Five, Thanks for all the info so far. One problem, after I open the .png file, I hit Ctrl -N and another window opens up and that background has transparency. How do I transfer that to the origianl .png file that I opened first. Thanks, Sammy
