natefizzle
I was playing as the Padres. In the top of the ninth I was up by 3. I did a double switch putting in Hoffman. I then scored 2 runs that inning. Then I pitched a 1-2-3 inning. I won 6-1 and Trevor Hoffman was awarded the save. I was wondering if anyone new why I got the save or if there was a bug in the game. Also I was playing as the Phillies and I had Thome slide back to first on a fly ball. He did the analog stick down slide yet hurt is forearm. Does that make any since? LastPickedForTeeBall
As long as your pitcher is in when a save opportunity is present and he doesn't blow it, he'll get it. Even if you score 40 runs in the last inning.
peterbernard
You can score as many runs as you want AFTER he comes in, as long as it's 3 or less when he comes in. That's why in this game in road games I often warm up the closer to come in 2 outs in the 8th, this way I can try to score in the 9th for insurance but not ruin his chance at a save.
