jupe
With the recent "What's your longest..." posts, I thought it'd be interesting to find out people's longest at-bats. I think the most consistent joy I get from MVP 2005 comes from fighting off 0-2 pitches, getting it to 3-2, and then drawing a walk. Who knew a walk could be so exciting? So, what's your longest AB? Mine's 12 pitches, Juan Pierre versus John Smoltz. P.S. I agree with MarkB -- I love baseball.
RAM
14 pitches brad wilkerson vs. tom glavine bottom of the ninth. result = walk off home run over the right field wall at patriot field (my created stadium for my nationals owner mode). nationals 1 mets 0! awesome game had it all- diving catches, outfield assists you name it. the more i play this game the better it gets. definitely the greatest baseball game on pc (or anything else for that matter) i have EVER played. i love baseball too!
Goldensuitcase
I don't know. Maybe 8-9. Anyone walking more on this game? I usually average 3-4 walks a game against the computer which is awesome. I LOVE IT!!!
dansaint
13 pitches...Jason Dubois vs Merkin Valdez...year 3 of my Cub dynasty...Merkin was the closer of the Giants and Dubois was an all-star...Top of the 9th,. 2 out at SBC Park...G-men are up 3-2 and runners are on 2nd and 3rd. took first two pitches for a ball low and away...then he throws a 97nmph heater up and I chase for strike 1....foul off the next 4 pitches..so the count is 2-2...next pitch he throws a slider that I check swing and the up says I held up..so it's a full count. I foul off four more pitches (one almost leaves the park but looks foul just before hitting the RF pole.) On the 13th pitch, Valdez throws another fastball low and away and I freeze up and can't swing...strike 3..game over! I get revenge the next night though when I am down 4-2 and Dubois faces Valdez again...he hits a three run homer on the first pitch to dead Center in the Top of the 9th to give the Cubs a 5-4 win.
