As I said before, two posts above yours, it would be possible, but right now it would be too difficult to mess with. If I can get an easier method to work, then I might consider it.

For some logos, things aren't that bad:

An early example of one I made that wasn't too difficult.

seriously, five, that's incredible. I didn't think this was gonna be possible. so psyched to play at shea now.

What else do you plan to do with it? I'd be more than happy with the current version as a 1.0, honestly.

looks amazing...really nice work. As far as I've noticed, Fenway is the only field that has "special" grass in the game (that sounds like some sort of weed code). On your NY Mets one which looks amazing, I think the design needs to come down toward the infield some more...the real picture has the design ending while the foul line is still in grass. Wish I knew what Oedit was all about so I could help you hah.

Well I've made some progress on the Shea grass:

shea-outline.jpg

How in the world did you get a replay camera angle at that height?

oh yeah, some stadiums will do a special pattern in the outfield for special days. Take Clemente for the bucs. I think they had some game where they honored him and the groundscrew had 5star1 or whatever # he was I think. Also, during the All-Star game they usually have a star around the pitchers mound. Another cool grass pattern for the infield is four sections, each with different patterns (diagonal, other way, verticle and horizontal). I'll try to get some pics.

I plan to get it as accurate as possible. It'll be released with Renegades Shea. He's going to a game today, so he's going to take a bunch of pictures.

is there any way possible..to have the logo of the team ur using behind home plate when ur creating a stadium in owner mode?

If you're using the Braves, I have released an NL East pack available in the downloads section. If you're using another division, iggy has released a full set.

five i see you been messing with the grass again!

You know it, after messing with this I think I need some of the real stuff.

I think the design needs to come down toward the infield some more...the real picture has the design ending while the foul line is still in grass.

I'm going to make it as realistic as possible (I'm a perfectionist.) Just waiting on renegades pics.

Someone noticed!

I started using one of squeege's camera angles he had made for someone:

I had some problems with it, so squeege helped me out and made it work in the replay angle. I can send you the datafile changes, if you want.

I'll try to get some pics.

I've already started on Comericas All Star flavor:

If you have any pics of any fancy outfield grass, just let me know.

/end quotes - addressed to everyone:

Thanks for all of the kind words guys, this nearly beat me in, so I'm glad it is getting such a positive reaction.

five has already answered this question. He wants to make it look a bit better before he releases it.

I don't mean to be a pain, but I just noticed something.

You can't see it on the pic, but there are actually three colors of grass. The fill of the skyline is the lightest, as you have it, and above it is the darkest, also as you have it. But the outline of the design is actually a shade in between the two. It's a line about 4 feet thick.

Also, I imagine you know this, but in the middle of it, starting about 5 feet above second base is a big interlocking NY logo. That's what that weird blip is in the pic. It's kind of hard to see.

Again, don't mean to be a pain. But I figured, you said you're a perfectionist. I didn't want you watching a game and finding out you'd missed something. It seriously does look amazing though.

I'm working with him.

Yeah, hopefully he'll get some high res shots of the grass for me, so I'll be able to see it with better detail.

Guys I need some help.

I am trying to track down a picture of shea's outfield grass with a ribbon in it. I've seen it on the forums recently, but I've searched and searched and I can't find it anywhere.

I think I have enough pics of outfield skyline that I'll be fine for that one, now I just need some for the ribbon outfield.

Got a few minutes to work on adding the NY logo and this is what I came up with:

shea2.jpg

I have it bleeding a little and I'm not sure why. I added a thin border around the skyline as well. I'm getting close, almost there.

Once I get the skyline done I have a few more updates I plan on doing, to help renegade out.

Just amazing. It really looks just about there. You probably already know this but

a)I think the NY is a little smaller or perhaps narrower.

b)someone already said this but the bottom of the skyline meets the edge at the intersection of the grass and the foul line

c) the buildings are a bit longer and a bit narrower (the design doesn't really stretch out across the whole outfield)

Man i can't wait til you put this out. It's just awesome. Thanks so much for all your hard work.

A & C - pretty much the same problem, this is going to be the last part of the process.

B - yeah, I improved it from the first time and it was a 30 minute edit, so I didn't play around with it.

Appreciate the kind of words.

Guys, I am still in need of pictures of other designs of fancy grass that Shea has had over the years. I know that I've seen one of a ribbon posted on the forums just recently.

First one is sometime in 2004, since it's got Reyes at 2B and Matsui behind him, and the digital pics on the scoreboard. You could probably get a specific date if anyone felt like looking at the day's schedule.

Second one also 2004, Valent leading off and Piazza playing first.

Third one, again, 2004.

Fourth: definately no earlier than 2003, the strikeout board wasn't there before that. it's pretty fuzzy, but i think it has Piazza at first, which means that unless it's the last game of 2003, a possibility, it's 2004. The ads also look the same as in the other three, so I'm guessing these are all various times in 2004.
