Jitter
I did a fantasy draft for my owner mode and have carl crawford as my leadoff man. What is strange is it seems like the CPU outfielders play always play him way up and I dont understand why. He is very fast (like 97 speed), but he has decent power if you hit even a marginally deep fly ball the CPU fielders have to go scrambling back. He is the only player I have seen this happen w/ everytime he is at bat. I am not sure if its a bug or just something built into the game.
Kccitystar
Same with some players like Furcal, etc.
jservice
I have noticed that the CPU infielders play David Eckstein back and he can beat out a bunt most of the time. Giambi and others get played to pull. If you get these players on your team, you can use it to your advantage by... opp. field aiming, bunting, etc. It will be had to beat you if have nine good players. KenDammit
happens in my game too, and then the opposing pitcher will usually pitch him inside if no one is on base???? Way to use the strategy there AI. I usually pop them over the CF's head with Carl and run out doubles and triples depending on the size of the stadium. Jitter
Crawford has 8 homers and 5 triples for me (Pujols and A-Rod have 12 HR each), so he has some power and speed doesnt make sense why they would play him up? Ill have to start paying more attention to other alignments maybe get a few extra hits.
CT_Braves_Fan
I am playing as the Braves and noticed this also with Furcal. He had a ton of doubles and triples (like 30) before going down with a torn muscle in his sholder.
Kelvarr
The best thing about Crawford to me is that they also tend to play him to go the other way. I just pull the ball down the line, and I get a lot of doubles and triples that way, because the outfielder has to run so far to get to the ball. I have given up bunting with him, because the corner infielders always play him way up, and I don't have a prayer to get a good bunt down when they play up. The only time I have ever had a successful bunt with him is when I did a drag bunt.
