Sikkibahm
I do, and I can't figure out how to slide. I use the right shift key, and no matter what numberpad arrows I hit, they always do a feet-first slide to the outside of the bag.
GoChiefs
Alright boys....can either of you take leads off first base? Also sliding? How?
keegandr
It says in the book you cannot take advantage of those features with a keyboard. sux i know I just reduce the user steal delay time.
IamTheMick7
I use a keyboard. No lead offs and nothing other than a hook slide... it sucks...we got the shaft.
sagolous
i use the keyboard i kno how to slide and everything ok open up notepad then open up controller.cfg from the mvp baseball 2004 directory which is in your documents , when u try to open it up change the files of type to all files. then to be able to slide and lead off copy this and paste it over but backup the original if u dont like this one profile= Keyboard_Profile_1 device= Keyboard_Profile_1 player= 1 number_of_buttons= 0 number_of_povs= 0 number_of_axis= 0 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_START= key sc_esc VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_SELECT= key sc_divide VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_CROSS= key sc_down VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_CRICLE= key sc_right VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_SQUARE= key sc_left VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_TRIANGLE= key sc_up VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L1= key sc_numpad0 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R1= key sc_numpadenter VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L2= key sc_add VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R2= key sc_backslash VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L3= key sc_pagedown VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R3= key sc_pageup VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_UP= key sc_numpad8 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_DOWN= key sc_numpad2 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_LEFT= key sc_numpad4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_DPAD_RIGHT= key sc_numpad6 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_RIGHT= key sc_numpad6 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_LEFT= key sc_numpad4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_UP= key sc_numpad8 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L_STICK_DOWN= key sc_numpad2 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_RIGHT= key sc_numpad2 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_LEFT= key sc_numpad4 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_UP= key sc_numpad8 VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R_STICK_DOWN= key sc_numpad2 VPAD_PITCH_1= key sc_down VPAD_PITCH_2= key sc_right VPAD_PITCH_3= key sc_left VPAD_PITCH_4= key sc_up VPAD_PITCH_5= key sc_numpadenter VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_FIRST= key sc_right VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_SECOND= key sc_up VPAD_FIELD_PICK_OFF_THROW_THIRD= key sc_left VPAD_PITCH_OUT= key sc_down VPAD_DEFENSIVE_ALIGNMENT_OPEN= key sc_backslash VPAD_THROW_BALL= key sc_rshift VPAD_INTENTIONAL_WALK= key sc_pageup VPAD_INTENTIONAL_HITBATTER= key sc_pagedown VPAD_PITCH_HISTORY_OPEN= key sc_rbracket VPAD_SWING_NORMAL= key sc_rctrl VPAD_SWING_BUNT= key sc_numpad0 VPAD_CHARGE_MOUND= key sc_up VPAD_FIELD_THROW_FIRST= key sc_right VPAD_FIELD_THROW_SECOND= key sc_up VPAD_FIELD_THROW_THIRD= key sc_left VPAD_FIELD_THROW_HOME= key sc_down VPAD_FIELD_SWITCH= key sc_numpad0 VPAD_FIELD_CUTOFF_THROW= key sc_numpadenter VPAD_FIELD_FAKE_RUNDOWN_THROW= key sc_numpadenter VPAD_RUNNER_FIRST_SELECT= key sc_right VPAD_RUNNER_SECOND_SELECT= key sc_up VPAD_RUNNER_THIRD_SELECT= key sc_left VPAD_RUNNER_RUNFIRST= key sc_right VPAD_RUNNER_RUNSECOND= key sc_up VPAD_RUNNER_RUNTHIRD= key sc_left VPAD_RUNNER_RUNHOME2SCORE= key sc_down VPAD_BASERUNNER_ADVANCEALL= key sc_pageup VPAD_BASERUNNER_RETREATALL= key sc_pagedown VPAD_RUNNER_STOP_SELECTED= key sc_home VPAD_RUNNER_STOP_ALL= key sc_end then to slide when going to a base press right shift and either 2,4,6,8 on the numpad. they will do different slides and to lead off when on base press right shift and 2,4,6,8 to whichever base u want to lead off to. to hit use the numpad and right control right shift is like the big play control so jus use right shift the #s on the numpad if u have anymore questions im willing to answer them im glad im not the only one that uses the keyboard

Michal
Thanks for nice information. I tried it and works fine. For other who use keyboard: The Right SHIFT is really something like "big play controll" button (same like in NBA 2003). Slides can be done with Right SHIFT + VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_. I tried it on each base (first, second, third and home), but always the runner slides "fleet first". Any combination, any base, always fleet first. Also is not possible (or maybe I don't know how) "railroad catcher" (as is described in EA's screenshots during loading game. Leadoff - not really. I tried described procedure, but with Right Shift and VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_ the runner didn't move forward or backward the base, only steal base on pitch. GoChiefs
Any of you keyboard users able to get more realistic pitch counts/number of human walks? Right now I might give up one walk per nine innings...maybe. I barely walk anyone. And before anyone asks, yes I have strike zone and hot/cold zones off. Pitch cursor is on, but that makes no difference for keyboard users. I know exactly where it is even if it is off.
