MagikT20
5 years into the Future The Mariners are an established team, but their minor league system is weakend with since the Mariners called up the minor league prospects. The Rainers are currently looking deep into the organization to find the Mariners next bunch of stars. The Rainers are able to find a few players that look to have a career in the major leagues. - 22 year old SP Larry Johnson - Currently the ace of the San Antonio Missions. Johnson was drafted 2 years ago in the second round. Since then Johnson has improved his fastball from 87 - 90 to 94 - 96. Johnson also has a very good Curve, decent slider, decent Change, and a 91 MPH cutter that needs a lot of work. - 1B 21 year old Danny Henderson - Starting in AA Henderson is a great power hitter. He could be called up to the show already and hit 20 to 30 home runs. Although a very good power hitter, we want him to be able to hit for power before he is in the bigs. - OF 19 year old Sammy Crisp - Drafted during the off-season was a huge steal. Sammy is going to start right away in AAA. Sammy needs to improve his hitting but is an excellent defencive player. With both Randy Winn and Ichiro aging he could be called up to try out near the end of the season. - OF 20 year old Scott Ortiz - Scott was a 2 sport athlete in high-school. Playing both football and baseball. Scott is a good fielder, good contact hitter, and average power hitter. Scott and Sammy are both able to be called up this year. - CP 24 year old Randy Green - Green was an great closer in AA and with the Mariners having no established closer right now, Green is someone to look at. Green has a 92 - 94 MPH fastball Update on Former Rainers Jose Lopez - Lopez is now a great power hitter and is the starting short stop for the Mariners. Felix Hernandez - 2nd in the Mariner rotation now and has a fastball that reaches 100 MPH consistently. Justin Leone - Starting at 2nd base for the M's and has replaced Boone well. Leone can hit 20 - 30 home runs a year and is a great defencive player. Rainer Mistakes over last 5 years Traded Manual Lopez - Turned out to be an all-star for the Chicago Cubs Traded Bucky Jacobson - We knew he was going to be a good player, but now he is a 25 - 35 homerun hitter. #50 Jamie Moyer Jamie Moyer Retired in 2008 at the age of 45. Games: 635 IP: 3839.0 W: 266 L: 173 SO: 2606 BB: 1135 ERA: 3.86 Hall of Famer: Yes or No? 103 Wins in a season In 2009 Mariners won 103 games. While winning Beltre hit 54 home runs and and his 300th home run in his career. Other talent like Jose Lopez and Yorkis Cyr each hit 30 homers. Yorkis went on to win the Rookie of the Year award. Felix Hernandez Cy Young Season Wins: 23 Loses: 5 IP: 249.0 SO: 205 BB: 54 2009 World Series Champions The Seattle Mariners made it to the playoffs year after year, but they could never make it to the world series. Last season they made it. They played 6 to win the world series. 2010 Rainer Season Enough of this stuff from the past. The Rainers seem to have some good talent in Larry Johnson. Johnson is going to play a few games in spring training for the M's. Danny has been selected as the clean up hitter in the line up. We are going to work on Dannys contact all spring. Gudraves
goose, i love the quote how do u like mine??? From CNNSI: Truth & Rumors (April 8th, 2005) The way Ken Griffey Jr. figures it, "Adam Dunn and Austin Kearns are going to carry this club for years to come," so let them carry it now. That, of course, is until the Yankees swoop in and bury them in money after they become eligible for free agency. -- Dayton Daily News

MagikT20
Larry Johnsons Spring Training Larry Johnson pitched 3.1 innings in relief, striking out 4 batter and allowing 1 run. Mike Hargrove really liked what he saw. Hargrove told Johnson if he keeps pitching like there is a chance that he will be called up later in the season. Scott Ortiz's Spring Training Scott Ortiz was called up in the middle of spring training, he wasn't happy with his results. Ortiz batted under .250 in 3 games. Ortiz did make a few great catches in the field though. No one thought that Ortiz would be such a good fielder since he is 6'4" 230. Rainers Opening Day Larry Johnson will start the game Scott Ortiz will start in CF Sammy Crisp will be in LF Danny Henderson will be play DH
MagikT20
Rainers First Game The Rainers will have to face the Fresno Grizzlies. The Grizzlies have 2 former MLB everyday players Ray Durham, who is still a good contact hitter, also has good speed for a minor leaguer. Ben Grieve, who has good power for a minor leaguer. For Larry Johnson to get these guys out he needs to use more then his fastball. These 2 guys were in the majors for awhile, so they know how to hit the fastball. Scouting Report on the Pitcher The Pitcher that we have to face has 3 pitches. A 90 MPH Fastball, a change up near the mid 80s, and a slider. He shouldn't be hard to hit since his pitches are all around the same speed.

Lest anyone forget that part of the two way street that is free agency. Granted 99% of people in general would not turn down more money (of that magnitude) for the same job in a different location. But just remember the player is the one who signs on the bottom line of the contracts. P.S. Sorry for getting off topic here Magik
