I was curious as to what the most popular player views are in this game. I know that there are quite a few different options available, but I think these are probably the most popular. I myself use the KSM Pitcher view#6 and Abhall's Batter view#5. When batting, I seem to have a heck of a time picking up high or low pitches when using True's view 4. I'm always flailing away at bad pitches. I have started to use abhall's HH low batting view#5, and get a great view on pitches coming in.

I use hitters eye (view 1) EA's default both on offense & defense. (but I basically don't play against the computer anyway. I play against friends, both hotseat & over the internet in peer to peer games)

I played with that view for awhile and found that I really liked it. But, I also saw something really strange with it as well. It seemed that there was a different perspective from a right handed to a left handed batter. For instance, I had my first 3 left handed batters come to the plate and all was well and good. Then, a righty came to the plate and it looked like the pitcher was moved back about 10 feet further. I tried it in several different stadiums with the same effect, and just couldn't get used to it, so I switched to BV#5 when batting. Really strange.

wow... I never noticed that before. I will keep a lookout for that.

Edit: I just tested it out & the pitcher looks the same distance to me with both right handed & left handed batters.

I use Iggybod's (or whatever his name is) camera mod with the fisheye view.. I think that is the best batting view...

but to answer the question, I use Pitching 6/ Batter 4 with the above mod

It is meant to be like that. It is to similate the lefty/righty, righty/righty, lefty/lefty match-ups.

You get a better angle when you have a left handed batter facing a right handed pitcher or a right handed batter facing a left handed pitcher, where as you have a worse angle when you have a lefty on lefty or righty on righty.

You're not further or closer, it's the angle that changes.

For me, it varies... one game it'll be 'Pared's Pitcher view#6, Abhall's Batter view#5' and the next will be 'Pared's Pitcher view#6, Trues' Batter view#4'.

I found out what was causing that strange effect. I had modded the datafile by importing some of KSM's camera views, and one of his batterview 1 camera angles was causing it. I just reverted it back to the default view and all is well and good again. :D

Ironically, I do something similar. I recently just came out of a long slump where for about 7 games I couldn't hit the ball to save my life. So I decided to mix up my camera views slightly. Now, I use abhall batting view#5 and a modified version of Trues #4 (I zoomed out the pitcher some more to my liking). I'm better at picking up pitch location with #5, but better at picking up pitch speed with #4. I usually go with #5, but if I face a hard fastball pitcher I go with #4 to keep from getting blown away.

Abhall: I just gotta say I love your batterview#5. It really gives me an excellent view of pitches in or out of the zone as well as any breaking balls. I believe you had said that it was an old HH view that you had modded. The only problem I have when using it, like you stated, is picking up the speed of some pitches.

My question to you is...what settings would I mod if I wanted to pull back another foot or two from it's present view. I think that would allow me to see "speed" a little bit better. Otherwise, it's excellent. Thanks.
