Scattershot
Hey there.... I know this is a sliders question but.....I am almost to the All-Star break and my team ERA is 1.86. I moved the computer hitting slider up to max and still... the computer is not hitting the ball.... Anyone have any ideas.. I am winning alot of the games 2-1.. 2-0..1-0... Now I wish I could be more patient at the plate so I could score more runs...lol Thanks, Mike LETS GO ANGELS!!!! 2005 National Champions North Carolina Tarheels!!! thr33niL
First off... BOOO ANGELS! (j/j) Second.. what are you playing at? Pro, All-Star? You could try and turn off the pitching curser making it a little tougher to throw strikes exactly where you want them. You can also turn up your pitching difficulty. I have mine between 30 and 40 most of the time (whichever makes it harder, dont remeber if its - or +). Just keep tinkering.

mrg1
if youre constantly hitting perfect on the pitch meter, increase the pitch meter difficulty Also, I strongly suggest lowering pitch control to below -20 (i use -25, but even that should probably be lowered) I too seem to have too easy a time pitching, but then again my rotation is Mulder, Radke, Morris, Drese, Suppan; so maybe its just that my team is that good hope this helps
KenDammit
I can't even get the computer to swing unless its a strike..haha. I can throw balls right on the zone all day and they'll hardly budge, not enough to make it an effective way to pitch..so..if I don't throw strikes, I'm screwed it seems on All-Star. Kamasutra
simple, adjust CPU Swing frequency. + = swings more (including mistake pitches) - = swings less and follow thr33niL & mrg1's suggestions: make pitching more difficult. Obviously something ppl overlook is rosters. If you've got a star pitching staff, the cpu will swing at stuff that's unhittable and miss or take alot of pitches and get struck out looking.. If you got crap starters, it's usually a slugfest, where everything even outside is hit hard... I hate to admit (no I don't) but when I lose to the CPU on mvp, allstar and yes even pro, it's usually a blowout thanks to the slider tweaks. Long gone are the days of 2-0 and 2-1 etc. These days it's more like 9-5, 8-3 etc . My last big loss was to the Padres, 12-3 in owner mode. KenDammit
i'm having a lot of fun on All-Star despite the CPU only swinging at what is guaranteed to be a strike. I've adjusted the swing frequency but haven't really noticed a change. I have to fantasy draft dynasties I'm playing so neither staff is a monster. I'll try upping the frequency even more and see if changes..I think its at around 10 right now. Anyway, the other day I had a 12 inning game in which I won in the bottom of the inning but what made it special was that I robbed a 3 run homer in the top of the inning to keep the game within reach..it almost makes things feel real when I play those close games..I'm all into it and everything. mrtuck73
Ya know I tend to have a very easy time pitching as well (on AS I have a week left in a season and Ryan Drese is on pace for the Cy Young and MVP, he has a 1.34 ERA and is 24-2 with 179 SO's). I think the solution I am going to try is after this season bump up to MVP, so you may want to try the next difficulty level and then tweak the sliders from there. If not, you should.
JP_Frost
even though spitoon's walk fix is nice, the pitch meter didn't have a perfect zone whatsoever. I walked my first 2 batters. Maybe I shouldn't have the pitch meter difficulty at -50?
FBeaule04
I'm starting to think about using the Spitoon's walk fix, but like JP said, it's impossible to throw with the pitch meter at -50. Majority of people are playing at All-Star, so if someone is using Spitoon's walk fix, what is the pitch meter difficulty level you've set? I was using Pared's sliders with All-Stars before moving to Skybreaker's MVP sliders, but the more things change, the more stay the same, I'm getting 5 hits a game by the CPU... Thanks for any income
