The H
No it's not wrong. Anyone using a higher end video card with up to date ATI drivers is having problems. I am guessing you are using crapidia. Really sorry to hear that. MVP is probably the only game that runs right on your "PC" Hmmm... nope... and again... YOU'RE WRONG. I'm able to run MVP on all of my PC's (an htpc, a middle-of-the-pack one and my high-end, relatively new gaming rig). My videocards are one AIW 9600XT, a X800 Pro AGP and a 6800GT PCI-E (on my high-end PC). And just before you burp out a 'liar', I'm not making any of this up; I've mentioned these facts in several threads that existed even before EA came out with patch # 2. As you can see, it isn't because I'm running an ATI or nVidia vidcard, because well, I'm running both brands and with BOTH of them my game is still running PERFECTLY. So, once again... don't come out here yelling and making a scene just because you can't accept the fact that this isn't happening to everybody... that isn't only WRONG... but also, childlish. baseballdude9470
don't forget to check your refresh rate if you haven't already. If that doesn't fix it then try re-installing the game and starting from scratch...but I know that it has to work, theres gotta be something you're missing along the way..and no problem. Slowdown did not occur prior to patch 2 installation. Refresh rate is locked at 60 in the control panel. There may be some sort of driver conflict. I will try to revert back to the 4.5.. If that does not work I will just reinstall and nix the 2nd patch. Thanks.

The H
baseballdude9470, For crying out loud! You think a guy that owns that many PCs and that's known around here as a very knowledgeable PC guy, doesn't know about the freaking latest CAT drivers out there??? (heck, I even created a thread announcing that they were out). I guess my IT Manager job and my 10+ years of experience in the industry just came out of a box of Wheaties. Smokin_Joe
baseballdude, what's with the attitude? These are the only solutions to fixing the game speed and if your game is still too fast then you're not setting something right. Coming in here and calling people liars because they do have the game running like it should is just plain dumb. I run with an A64 3000+ overclocked to 2.7Ghz with an ATI X800XL and with the settings mentioned the game doesn't go above 60fps. It's still not perfect but it's alot better than before patch2. Asking for help first would've been the right thing to do.
ezdriver
System 'set-up' for best game performance: 1. Vsynch enabled in-game and in Display Properties; 2. Set Refresh rate at 60Hz using Refresh Force or comparable; 3. AA set to 4x and AF to 16x in Display Properties; 4. All Display settings in game set to max; 5. Game screen resolution - 1280x1024; 6. Install patch #2 from EA. I made sure I am set-up with these items and my system is not having a problem with the game. But.....it took a bit of tweaking to get me where I'm at today. Patience pays off! :D

ezdriver
You can see my system specs in my signature. Although not a top-of-the-line computer by any means, I feel it's a fairly good one nonetheless. Some of these settings might be a little too high for a mid-range IMO. Not sure, though. ez

statelizard
So who wants to take bets that we never see the guy that started this thread again, unless of course it's to b&m about something else. krawhitham
I have read tons of posts referring to the fast gameplay issue with the second patch. First of all those saying that turning on VSYNC is a fix in game, is WRONG. Second, those who are saying their gameplay is not turbo fast must have a junk video card. Anyone out there with a half way decent card $100.00+ will experience this extreme fielding/running speed. I am just sick and tired of people claiming guaranteed fixes to the problem, when they are wrong. EA screwed up, period! Anyone who is not experiencing the turbo play either has a junk video card/computer or is blind. Sorry for the pissy first post but there are lots of us who are upset about the issue and people claiming that no problem exists are not speaking for the majority with decent gaming rigs. I have a $350 video card and it plays the game perfectly (RADEON X800 SE) maybe you should stop bitching and see what your problem is

Smokin_Joe
Well for me, the 5.2 and 5.4 run exactly the same. I get a few pauses every now and then when a player first steps up to the plate but when i start pitching the lagginess is gone.
Yankee4Life
This baseball dude guy thinks he is the only one who has problems with the gameplay so we should all fall over ourselves in helping him out. Like Mark said, curb your attitude.

BrianBakerBoSox
Seems to me like this guy want's to brag about his frickin video card more than he wants to fix his problem with the game..AND BTW i had the same problem...turned vsync on in game, and in the settings of my video card...and poof magically my players arent on drugs anymore, they came down, and are operating at the speed they need to...GOOD DAY

ReddShadoe
Just want to point out that turning VSync on doesn't work for wveryone either. A few here have stated that it will work for everyone, but it didn't for me. I have an Athlon 3200+ with a GeForce 6800GTOC (or 'Crapidia' as the guy with the 9600XT calls it ); I turned VSync on in the game and in Wndows, set all my settings in Windows to the best quality, slowest performance...set the game settings to highest quality...and still, it's like watching old newsreels, the players run around in fast-forward. So I went to the EA Tech Support site, and of course they advise to turn VSYNC on, but they also say if that doesn't work, to reintsall the game but don't install the patch (2). I get the little stutters, but it's better than the superspeed.

If your monitor is running at 85hz or whatever then of course vsync isn't going to help cause the game is still running at 85fps. It needs to run at 60fps to be at the normal speed. reddog
I have a Ati Radeon X800, I had this problem when I played with the display drivers. I used the cleaning program and now the game is definitely playing awesome. I had to install the same driver about three times to get it right, finally the fast paced game is gone. The 5.2 driver I wewnt with because I have a blur with the 5.3 between plays/, that should help your prob.
nettles9
Baseballdude, Relax. You do need to loose the attitude. There is absolutely no need to whine and scream like a little kid. I have a very high end machine , with a very high end video card. Radeon 9800 XT 256 MB,. lastest drivers. With the second patch from EA, my game runs flawlessly. Don't make fun of other peoples rigs.
