You have to give up a guy with atleast as good a rating as the one you wanna trade for...or you could give up two players with weaker ratings, but they should atleast be a bit similar to the one you wanna trade for. There are alot of variations you could try to pull off, but I don't think that cpu will take stats in account. However, they do put players with weak stats on the trading block.
