Update on ATI pause issue.....

After a month of trying, I have failed in eliminating the PAUSE I get in the game when Speech is talking durring gameplay.

What happens is that durring gameplay, usually durring pitchingbatting, the announcers or hecklers will start speaking and the game will pause quickly asthe commentator or hecklers start speaking.

Sometimes it even happens in the middle of my pitch. It is driving me nuts!!

I've played with AA and AF onoff but NOTHING works.

I've tried new and old drivers to NO evail.

I've tried different resoultions and play at 60Mhz.

I'm so dissapointed. I can't play this game like this.

Patch#2 helped the stuttering, but these quick game pauses drive me nuts.

So after all this testing I FINALY have decided to REFORMAT my hard drive, Windows XP and start all over again with a fresh install.

My outcome?

NO CHANGE!!!!

I am convinced there is a problem with this game and the ATI 9800 Pro 256 Video Card.

My question to you all is to find out who is having this issue and what systems are you running.

Also if there is anyone out there who has an ATI 9800 Pro and NOT experiencing this problem

Thank you for your time.......

Sam

I have the ATI 9800 PRO 256 card with no problems whatsoever.

Game runs like a hot knife thru butter.

Could it be your soundcard, hardware acceleration?

Hope you can solve this.

I still have this problem as well and I did not reformat but did do 5 defrag in a row and no change. I had the same problem with last year's game on this same system.

P3 1.0 Ghz, 384 MB RAM, GeForce4 420 MX AGP with 64 Mb of RAM, 80 Gb HD, 24X-CD / 8X-DVDROM, Running Win ME.

My solution to this and other problems with this game and others will be to build a new system. The wife finally gave the go, so I am going to Fry's Electronics one more time this weekend to price out my parts.

Won't be top of the line, but not bad: SOYO Dragon 2 Ultra Platinum motherboard, 1 Gig RAM, P4 3.0 or higher, 160 Gb HD, GeForce 256 Mb (Can't remember the model number) AGP, and whatever good DVDROM Drive I can find. Last time I priced a few months ago it was under $900. I will load Win 2000 (Can't stand XP!! Damn memory hog!)

Can you give me your full specs?

Are you asking me to turn down my soundcard acceleration in my DirectX menu?

If you are I've tried that.
