i just got an idea im somebody else that mabye take two should let ea produce mvp for the pc version only, becuase i don't think take two will waste their time with the pc market with the new cosules coming out, and under the deal as it is now, the pc will be without a new game until 2012. what's your take on this?

My take on this is....We will be playin Mvp2005 for the next 7 years.......Take two will

soon realize there mistake a couple years into there quest to make a game that will

stand up to Mvp......there sales will reflect there mistake....I myself would rather play this game for the next 7 years than the crap they put out......When there is no one else

competing in the baseball pc market...then there is no battle to get out the very best game.....and that usually means a crappy product.....anyway snuggle up to Mvp2005

because its the best baseball game you will see for the pc for the next 7 years.

Here is some info:

Take-Two's exclusive, long-term deals, which begin in Spring 2006, enable Take-Two to publish officially licensed Major League Baseball video games on console, PC and handheld platforms. The exclusives include rights to the marks of all 30 Major League Baseball Clubs, MLB players, Major League ballparks and Minor League Baseball Clubs, as well as MLB.com online content, for use in Take-Two's baseball games. Take-Two plans to offer multiple titles based on traditional baseball simulation, arcade and manager-style games, including innovative and specially-timed releases throughout the baseball and holiday seasons. Take-Two's Visual Concepts and Kush Games development studios are creating the baseball titles under Take-Two's recently established 2K Sports publishing label.

These exclusive deals specify Take-Two as the exclusive third-party publisher for officially licensed Major League Baseball video games. Consistent with Take-Two's desire for continued consumer choice, the hardware manufacturers such as Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo will retain the right to enter into development agreements for MLB games specific to their particular platforms. All other third-party publishers and developers are precluded from publishing officially licensed MLB simulation, arcade, and manager style games, either directly or in affiliation with a hardware manufacturer, during the length of the exclusives. Take-Two will be the sole developer, publisher and distributor of licensed simulation, arcade and manager-style Major League Baseball PC games.

it's safe enough to say the mvp 2005 can hold it down for 2006 great modders from here will carry the torch, as well, the game is near perfect. Do you really thing take 2 will consider giving EA a baseball pc only title? you must be on drugs! EA started this whole license battle, even rumored to have offered the NFL last year. This is why this exclusive rights junk is not good for consumers anyone like madden?

Kind of off-topic, but not really: The same thing happened with Papyrus and NASCAR Racing 2003 Season. It is regarded as the most realistic NASDCAR sim out there, and Papyrus lost the rights to NASCAR in 2002 (after releasing NR2003). The modding community is still huge for the 2002 title, even after 2 or 3 titles have been since published by EA. The same goes for Acess's (then Microsoft's) golf sim, Links 2003. So if there is no alternative, the existing game will only get much better.

That said though, I seriously doubt there will not be another MLB-licensed baseball game for PC in the next 7 years.
