Anyone know why you can hit more than 170 homeruns in the game during a season, yet it only shows up as 170 (at most) when you look at the league leaders stats? Just wondering...

I'm sure this issue came up last year as well. There is a limit on all stats like that, 2B, 3B, H etc...

I think it's time to up the difficulty level.

On a side note, isn't it funny how there is all this biatching and complaining about how things aren't realisitc in the game, and then invariably you get one of these posts?

Spitoon, that's exactly why there will never be the perfect game. If you get a game that is realistic in every single way, down to the pitchers going to the rosin bag and real fight scenes when a player is hit by a pitch, there will always be certain people who will say the game is too hard.

Well I got Babe Ruth on my White Sox and he's cranking them out...

Let me guess. Your rotation is as follows:

C. Young

S. Koufax

B. Gibson

T. Seaver

W. Johnson

You don't need a bullpen. :)

Update on homerun count...

It seems that after 170 homeruns, the screen will increase the homerun count by 1 for every five homeruns you hit...

I hit 1 in one game, and then 4 in the next and Ruth's count "jumped" to 171...hopefully there is no cap to RBI's, total bases, or hits...

Im curious as to the explanation of having dead people on your dynasty, if you are playing dynasty. I think its a bit stupid IMO to put any of the heroes on your team and play seasons. 170?? Youll have the HR record after year 5.:lol:

There is a big difference between a "simmer" and an "arcader", clearly he is an "arcader". Unfortunately EA has to cater to both, so it's a more fun game for all the audience. This takes compromise from both sides of course, but IMO is more painfull to the simmer.

The Arcaders were really winning the battle in the NHL series because so many American customers knew little about hockey so it didn't bother them but there was and still is (last time I checked before lockout) major outcry from the simmers.

Strangely enough, there is no maximum limitation for RBI in MLB2006, but there is a maximum limit for runs and home runs in each season. You can only score 255 runs in each season and after 169 homeruns, only 1 home run will be added every 5 home runs you hit. For some reason I have been stuck on 144 homer for Ortiz and 125 homers on Ichiro, my understandg is that if you have reached the maximum amount of runs, your home run stats will not increase systematically.Need a stats fix ><.

This is my lineup for current dynasty, my lineup for owner mode is M.Ramirez, C.Beltran, Ichiro for outfielders, M.Ojeda, A.Rod, M.Loretta, A.Pujol for infielder, Pudge as a catcher, and ortiz as DH.

This is my current standing

THis is my current budget; for some bizzare reason, i still have $13.8m to spare.

I have been playing on all star mode with no mod, it is getting a bit too easy, but I still prefer mvp 2005 over mlb 2k9...=.=;

Actually, there is a maximum for RBI's. It's 255 versus LHP, and 255 versus RHP. The limit for home runs is 127 versus LHP, and 127 versus RHP.

I agree with all you guys who think the idea of 170 homers in a season is ridiculous, but it's well within the realm of possibility for someone playing in Rookie mode for too long. My concern is with the entire idea of setting a "max" for a stat. Most of the season maximums seem to be 254, but then there are some stats that don't have that as a max (like Hits). From the perspective of a player talking to a programmer, I'd have to wonder why, if there must be a max, it isn't set to something completely insane like 9999 per season and 99999 for a career. That way, nobody will ever discover that there is a max during game play. For some people, fun is throwing up massive stats. For others, it's realism. The game should accommodate either type of person.

BTW, in my Rookie-mode days, I ran into this sort of limit with SB. In my second season, I actually had 5 guys break that barrier, including Aramis Ramirez, if you can imagine that. Even in All-Star mode, I regularly have at least one player who breaks the current MLB single-season record, even with the absurd number of times my guys get picked off.
