What controller do you guys reccomend for the PC

Recommended Posts

I've got the Logitech Dual Action. Bought it last year, and I'm satisfied. I played a good bit of last year and near 30 games this season and only have minor problems with the left joystick. So, its not 100% reliable, but gets the job done for me.

Logitech WingMan Cordless.

Cheap (I bought mine for about $50)

Reliable (No buttons or joysticks are crapping out yet)

Easy to use (Software included and easy to install drivers)

Portability (Plug in USB accepter to PC and go from like 10-20 feet away and use no problem)

Overall, best controller I have ever used.

I went through two Logitech Dual Action gamepads and they both pooped out quickly. Got so I had to recalibrate several times during a game. When it finally completely died I replaced it with a Logitech Rumblepad 2 corded. I love it. I'm even able to use JoytoKey again. Great gamepad.

You might also consider Thrustmaster. I use it for MVP, Madden, & NBA Live, and love it: $20.

Just make sure you are not getting old stock. The latest is Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual Power 3 (Mfg Part #: 2960630).

It really depends on your preference. If you're used to a console pad, and you have one just go with the converter, you can get it for 5-10 bucks online. The saitek ones are nice too. If you have no idea, then go to the store and test them out. Obviously you can't play a game with them, but they usually have display models. Pick 'em up and decide which one is most comfortable. Make sure you have all the capablities that you'll need so the analog sticks, d-pad, and at least 8 actual control buttons. It's all about comfort.

I've read in other gaming forums that the PS2 to PC coverters can be buggy. If you are used to the PS2 gamepad then the Logitech RumblePad 2 will work well for you.

BTW from what I read the RumblePad 2 is a big improvement over the original RumblePad.

Im running a Game Elements Recoil, very nice and affordable I gave about 14.00 bucks for it at Wal Mart, its very comfortable and it feels like its made alot better than the Logitech Dual Action, that I also use and no loss of calibration that the Logitechs are notorious for, and the cord recoil feature is cool as well as the rubberized grips.

I had the recoil but the left analog stick broke after only about a month. The stick pulled to the right all the time and calibrating it wouldn't work.

So today I went to RadioShack and bought the USB adaptor for my PS controller. It works nice except my Right analog stick is inverted. I tried changing the controller config file but to no avail. Anyone else running into this problem? Thanks.

Im pretty cheap and I got angry at not having a controller to play Mvp 2005 "properly" so I hacked up a parallel port cord and attached it to my ps2 controller. Works good no problems what so ever I also get force feedback from it. I know I coulda bought a converter for it or bought a pc gamepad but like I said Im cheap and I had an extra controller noone used and a parallel port cable going to watse.
