BOLTHEAD
I am having a difficult time striking batters out. I pitched a 9 inning game with David Wells. He allowed only 3 hits in 9 shutout innings, but he he struck out only one batter. I am using Pared's 1.0 Slider Set and a Pitcher 6/ Batter 1 view with the strike and hot and cold zones off. Changing the view doesn't seem to matter. I would greatly appreciate any advice.
APR
Well, don't be afraid to throw balls, pound the corners, and try to get the computer to chase. I like to make a goal of 1 strikeout per inning, and that seems to help me get more K's.
BOLTHEAD
I have been throwing on the corners, and using the correct type of pitchers based on L vs. R , R vs. L, etc. I purposely throw balls out of the zone too. I appreciate your input though.

MaddiesDaddy
are you using any of the datafiles available in the download section??? I have found that spitoon's or kumala's datafile help with strikeouts...both looking and swinging. For me and my slider settings (started with Pareds and tweaked for my abilities and tastes), these two datafiles are by far the best for overall game play especially with strikeouts...both in amount you throw and the ratio of looking to swinging. Of course your slider settings will affect the ratio of those.
Ari
Ok. Ill reveal my secret. First of all, use breaking balls as much as u can. Dont refrain from using the fastball. Aim for the corners, but challenge the hitter sometimes or the computer will catch on. My faves are, if you're a righty pitcher, a 2 seam fastball in lower left corner, slider/cutter lower right corner, changeup/circle change upper left/right corner, Fastball on the middle sides (to challenge) My strikeout pitches are never in the strike zone. I always do one of the following: 1. A fastball up high 2. Slider/Cutter inside (not outside) 3. Sinker/Curve/KnuckleCurve/Splitter down low. The computer almost always chases those. Try it. It got me a hell a lot of K-baggers with lowe and burnett.
