all star game questions

home field has always been AL one year, NL next year, The all Star Game determines home field for the world series(which is stupid). You can choose the stadium but AL will have the home field for the 2005 All Star Game(Comerica Park - Detroit Tigers).

The team with the better regular season record, I would think. But now they could do it, with interleague play, as the winner of the series the two teams may have played.

But they will never try in the All-Star game. Case in point - Selig called it once! Maybe if they did the All-Star game at the end of the year like in football...

That's not going to be the case for the next two years. PNC Park in Pittsburgh hosts next year's All-Star Game (a mere 12 years after they last hosted it at Three Rivers) and SBC Park in San Francisco will host the 2007 All-Star Game (breaking the alternating AL-NL format for at least one season)...

ok, back to the orignal question...in mvp 2005, does the all star game determine home field? if not, what does?

and a new question: when playing the game, do you control all the players in your league or just the ones from your team?

you can play it but, MAYBE only if you have players that made the team. not sure i had 2 dudes make the team so i was able to.
Actually, if I am not mistaken (and it is entirely possible that I am mistaken), I believe the MLB has a rule that at least 1 player from each team must be placed onto the all-star roster. Thus, it would be impossible for one to face a situation where the game is not playable b/c a player from your team did not make the All-Star squad for his respective league.

HTH :)

true, you're right about the MLB rule. but i think the game will still only allow only 25 guys per team , NOW i could be wrong on that one. when i played i don't recall seeing a guy from each team though. regardless you can play it (or i could at least). as far as it determining home field? have no clue on that one yet.

EDIT- yeah i just checked the roster in mvpedit and it only has 25 players on both all star squads.

bravesj858,

I won the All-Star Game, had home field in the World Series. Don't know if there is any connection or not.

You control everyone on the team.

Ive had Beltran Piazza and Pedro on mine. I said screw you other pitchers and Pedro pitched a complete game shutout!!! But yeah you should be able to play your all star game

Oh how I would have laughed if Pedro had been injured in the 9th becuase you didn't want to stick a closer in :D
