Thanks Trues and thanks also for pinning it. I'm sure a lot of people will want to know this. ;)

For everyone who might be interested, I just got off the phone with Brad from 2k Sports support. They are aware of the date issue that is causing the game to lock up and not allowing you to play it. (Ie; Having to set your computer date back to, or before, October 3rd to be able to play it.) They were fixing it as we talked and he said it should be done by or before the end of the week. HOWEVER, you will have to be connected to the Internet when starting the game up for the update to take effect. In other words, no Internet connection, no update. While I had him on the phone, I also inquired about two other issues I curious about... A MLB 2K12 patch for the PC: No patch will be coming. Will there be a MLB 2K13: No. 2K12 is the final baseball game they will be making. There you have it straight from the horse's mouth. I hope this clears everything up for everyone. (To Admins. You may want to make this a "Sticky".)

It's always has been a good rule of thumb that when a new operating system comes out to give it a year before getting it so all the bugs, questions, etc. get worked out.

Mlb 2K12 Startup Screen Freezing (Including A Workaround)

Glad to do it. A gentleman over at the 2K Sports forum pointed it out to me and then I remembered myself about it. But I was thinking of another program. This one is much better! :good: -
Mlb 2K12 Startup Screen Freezing (Including A Workaround)

Well this program will do the job. I set mine to revert back to the "real" time in 2 minutes. That's perfect. It gives the game time to start all of the stuff up. Then by the time it reverts back to the real time the game is up and running. Plus, this way once it converts back to the real time it isn't running in the background. It will completely close itself out. :good: -
Mlb 2K12 Startup Screen Freezing (Including A Workaround)

I did find a utility to help make the date change work around as painless and simple as possible: beyondo. http://bluefive.pair.com/beyondo.htm It changes the current system date to a specified date for a temporary period of time, then automatically changes it back to the current date (be careful around midnight though). So you can set it for 10/3/2012 (last day of regular season play, which works for me) and set it to restore the real date after 2 minutes, then start 2K12. This minimizes the disruption of backdating your system time on your log files, file creation, etc. It also prevents accidentally forgetting to change the clock back, if you do it manually. Hope this makes things easier for all of you until 2K Sports gets off of their duffs and fixes this! -

The bottom line is, we shouldn't have to be doing any of this if 2K Sports took care of their customers!!! -

It works for me. Just set your computer date back to October 3rd and you should be good to go. I just wonder if we'll have to do this every time we play it from now on!!! -

This is totally uncalled for!!! 2K Sports must use amatuers for programmers? They new about the problem before and STILL have not fixed it. It is definitely in the code of the game. I even talked to 2K support on the phone and I was told they were aware of this. I guess our complaints have fallen on deaf ears! HEY 2K SPORTS!!! WHY DON'T YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS?!?!?!?!?!? -

Maybe it had something to do with yesterdays supposed DNS virus. Maybe they programmed it not to run on that day............(???) Cheers!!!
-
Yep. I waited until today and it started right up. Deleting the "Saves" does nothing except lose all of your settings and Franchise. WHY in the hell, I wonder, did 2k do this. It's obviously in the code. Maybe it was because yesterday was that DNS virus day or something... Anyway, thanks for the info guys! Cheers!!!

I don't know what happened. I re-installed 2K12 and left it COMPLETELY stock and it still crashes to desktop. It does it right after loading the "Player Progression" window. (I don't know if this has anything to do with it.) I am running Win7 64bit with a nVidea GTX 570 card. I have never had this problem before. It just started today. Does anyone know what the hell is going on with this issue? I have even tried running as "Administrator" and in compatibility mode using Win XP. I am at a loss because it just started out of nowhere. It was running fine before. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!! Thanks and Cheers!!!

Thank you sooooo much buddy. Got it and it looks GREAT!!!!

Hey all!!! I was just wondering, I am a big Cincinnati Reds fan and that is the team I use when playing in franchise mode. Could someone please do a Fox Sports Ohio (or whatever it's called for the Reds) overlay for 2K12? This would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Thanks in advance to anyone who could do this. Cheers!!!

Hey all. I am in a franchise. I am the pitcher for the Reds. After a game, I saved the franchise and then edited myself. I changed my screwball to a sinker. When I started the next game in the franchise mode and I was pitching, I still had my screwball instead of the new sinker. The changes did not take effect. However, when I play a quick game from the main menu, the changes are there. Is there anyway to make these changes show up during your franchise instead of having to restart the whole thing? Thanks for any help you can offer. Cheers!!!

Cool!!! Thanks so much buddy!!! Cheers!!!

Thanks for the reply but nope. Sorry. That's not it. That one won't open any of the .iff files at all. All I am wanting to do is to add my own signage to a couple of stadiums. As I stated above, I tried that NBA Mod Tool and I can't even find the executable file to be able to open up a stadium .iff file. LOL!!! If anyone else has any ideas as to what I am wanting, please let me know. It would be greatly appreciated!!! Cheers!!!

I was wondering if one of you gurus out there could make an ESPN overlay like there was for the 2K11 version. Thanks a lot and keep up the great work guys!!!

I tried that tool and I couldn't even find the executable file to run it. Where is it? Thanks...
-
Thanks buddy but that's not the one I had in mind. That thing is confusing as hell! LOL!!! I believe my program was called eEditor or Geditor or something like that. It was very easy to change the signage of the stadiums with this tool. Extract the file to a BMP (or something similar) and then do your thing and then import it back into the program. Bingo! It would show up in the game. Thanks again!!!

I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times, but I am wanting toi edit some of the MLB2K12's stadiums. Was is the name of the utility I need to do this? I can't remember. D'OH!!! LOL!!! Thanks a lot for any help! Cheers!!!

I don't think you really have to push THAT particular button. As long as you push one on the controller that starts the game. NOT the keyboard or mouse.

WOW!!! That was a good idea PeteRoseFan. How did you ever come up with that. LOL!!! ;)
