  1. I already have the excel setup to randomize the body type and builds, so it does it to a small degree. It's on my agenda to optimize it better. I could add that in for the gear. None of this stuff is too much work to do at this point because I already built the foundation to do just these type of things.
  2. This updated roster has all the regular college teams working in play now mode, except the all star teams since I disabled them for the time being until i check them out further. Playoff and franchise mode will crash the game. You can't trade players, but you can adjust the lineups and pitching rotations for all the teams. That's handy in-game since it saves the hassle of doing that in one of the editors. One oddity about this.... when you scroll through the teams rosters or lineups you can only right scroll...you will cycle thru all the teams. If you left scroll, it jumps thru teams. Weird issue. I did reinsert my logos in this version of the roster since i'm working on the uniforms tab. Roster7 College.ROS fyi- just for kicks this is the 2018 regular MLB roster I created using the excel files. This one works like the default 2k roster with no crashes in play now, franchise or playoff mode. Roster4MLB2018.ROS
  3. ReditorII. For new logos, I do believe you have to just swap them out with the 3D tool. To swap one team's with another using reditorII: The uniform tab in reditor has a column for the logo that appears in game. (and on the uniform if it is set to a created team). So say you import a new logo, whatever old logo you imported over, this column needs to be set to the old logos 3 lettered abbrev. The team tab has a column for the logo that appears on the main screen(s), outside of playing a game. Something to that effect. In reditorII, activate the my friend panel. Go to the uniforms tab. Brows the my friend panel and you will see where you can set the colors. By changing the team uni to a created team, it changes the colors that appear on the logo... I didn't notice yet if it changes the banner colors...it might. I'll try it at some point to see exactly whats what.
  4. For the color changing, I use reditor with the my friend panel active. If I remember right, I set the team's uniforms(GID) to a created team. Then just changed the colors with the my friend panel. I will download this and take a peek. ps Speaking of appearances, though it doesn't matter for this mod, it looks like portraits do work with this setup.
  5. I didn't rename this roster version but this has some fixes in it, and I am experimenting with the team types in Play now. Actually had it working to some degree but have to recreate what I did. I think setting them to MLB type 1 and setting the divisions to 1 to does the trick. This version of the roster is just default for the time being. Roster6 College.ROS
  6. Thanks and same to you. I noticed that too about playoff mode in this roster. I think at one time I was able to get created teams to appear, but can't remember. Still experimenting with that.
  7. I'm trying different combinations of things. we might have to sacrifice some in-game things like franchise mode, trades, or adjusting lineups. I'm working on setting them up as MLB teams where they would all appear in exhibition or playoff mode. Haven't gotten it to work totally yet. Only MLB (and created teams I think) appear in playoff mode. Franchise mode would not work with this scenario. This is the second scenario: Here's the file with Class A and the extra teams set to 3. It looks franchise still works. The teams appear in exhibition mode. You can't bring up the teams to adjust lineups and rotations. A third scenario is to use a lesser amount of teams that fit into the default list of teams. Everything works that way, execpt Class A teams would have to be set to 3 in order to use them in exhibition mode. The game is not designed to let us play Class A as a default or in franchise mode. We could always just make 3 different versions of the roster to suit multiple ways of playing the mod. Not really a big deal to do that. It's just mainly a matter of changing some team settings. Roster6 College.ROS
  8. I've expanded the roster with another 20 team slots above and beyond the default 2k amount of teams. They can be added and the file itself is crash free. Running into some issues with teams that are not set as all star or legend teams. The problems relate to what you set the team types to (if its MLB or not). Certain in-game functions will not work for the additional teams. I am trying to see if it would work if they are set to created teams, but that does not allow you to trade, release players, etc. like normal teams do. So far, I find if you just use the amount of 2K default teams everything works fine. You can add all star or legend teams too and they will function as the default ones do. The other college specific teams are the issue. Example, team types 4 (Class A) only show up in franchise mode, If you discovered anything and would like to share that let me know. Thx
  9. Forgot, you have more teams you want to include then the teams amount of teams in my roster. There are a few missing, because I used the default roster size. This can be adjusted by me in the roster file and the excel file if you would like me to to add all the teams in. I started some instructions, but not done yet. The excel file is set to randomly fill rosters for the amount of teams I have in the roster file, this was done as a starting point. As of the moment, you have to generate rosters for all the teams at one time. You can't generate them one team at a time. (That plus one player at a time is/was something on the to do list, but I have no idea when I will get to that) To generate a "random" roster what you do: (It sounds like more than it actually is once you get the hang of excel and REDitor) 1) Open the excel file, it was created in Excel 2016. 2) After the file is loaded, on the top ribbon bar of excel press the "Refresh All" key (or press CTR ALT F5). This action will generate a random roster for all the teams. (0 thru 119) The all star teams are just random names with the default 2k ratings. The rosters are ready to be copied into REDitor. 3) Appearances will be generated for all the players. Not perfected yet. You can change some things in the select appearances tab that will be reflected in the tab to be copied. Same with the Select pitches tab. 4) You have to manually copy the players tab, team tab, staff tab, and appearances tab into the roster file using REDitor. All other tabs at this point are works in progress, as I created this excel file to generate ratings for MLB stats (which is a different excel file, this excel file is altered for college output). At some point I should create a simplier process than copying and pasting. 5) To copy each tab; put your cursor in the upper most left corner of the white cells. Not the grayed out ones, as they are only for reference. Example, in the players tab, the very first players name. Then highlight all the columns to the right (shift plus right arrow), then the right arrow key will highlight all the columns. Then using (shift plus down arrow) scroll down (you can use shift plus page down) to highlight all the rows. Once highlighted right click on one of the left most grayed cells, and select copy. 6) With REdit open, for each of the tabs, one at a time, select the upper most left corner. Select Paste. The whole tab should be copied after a few seconds. Repeat for each tab. 7) Save the roster file. Go ingame and go to roster management. You will have to auto adjust the pitching rotations and batting lineups. I hope I explained "the process" somewhat clearly. There are some particulars about the excel file that I will have to explain (and note in the excel file) if you want to mess with it. Basically, you can break the excel file if you start changing things. (I have a hundred times). There are some hidden tabs, which you can unhide, that are the guts of the calculations. The calculations can be modified too, once you know what does what. Thanks. Looking forward to the mod
  10. Here are the current files. I entered the team names and assigned stadiums. I created for Arizona and Southern Cal Create a team logos and unis for the time being. Once we get the uni files (and names) we can enter them into the roster file with Redit. The ratings are auto generated and are easily adjusted. Example, I made the ratings for college below MLB levels. If you think something should be adjusted let me know. I will be play testing this more and making further adjustments as we go along. 11. Little update.. created a "random' roster for all teams... plugging in team data...going to play test it. I will try to retain the ability to play franchise mode with it...but not sure that will work with the college structure (unless we make the lesser ranked teams minor league teams of the higher ranked teams,etc)...may have to stick to exhibition and playoff mode (a 10 team tournament).
  12. ps note about the roster i posted. With re-configuring the roster file I have not been able to use the portrait file, since the global ids are different and I currently have the first 1300 or so lines in the roster file assigned to the minor leagues. So portraits are showing as cyberfaces, which do still work, as they are assigned to the portrait id. I'm not sure if we have to decide between having portraits or having the announcers say names accurately. Maybe i can delete some extra lines in the roster file and expand it further to include the minor leagues, but I don't know if that will accomplish anything. Also, the inside edge data also seems to be locked into the first 1300 or so lines in the file. This reconfig in effect eliminates the use of inside edge data in that case. I haven't looked closely, but I was wondering about portraits, does anyone know if the portrait id numbers can be changed in the portrait file without breaking it?
  13. A footnote to my excel workbook and roster... all the minor league teams have randomly generated names, ratings and tendencies scaled to the minor league level (AAA,AA,A). I will look at finishing randomizing the major leagues. Should be relatively easy to do in the excel workbook. I will also add some sort of documentation that is easy to follow about the concepts in the workbook. Saves me tons of time. Also, started to investigate incorporating 2019 stats (ie baseball reference.com) versus just using the chadwick database (which is an updated version of the lahman database on github). Also, i use microsoft access to get the stats into my excel workbook. This too is not very hard to do, but requires a little more work. I added the sliders I use with this roster template. So far the results are ok with me, Difficulty Sliders1.SLD
  14. I've been experimenting with the audio issue as well. The audio is locked, perhaps in the same file where the inside info is..not sure about that. What I did do, using ReditII was expand the size of the default roster file, and then inserted the major league players at the end of the file. And changed all the global ids from the normal range starting at 1. The MLB players don't have the wrong name announced as a matter of course. There is an occasional mis-announcement but not nearly as often. Hard issue to figure out without being able to read some of the other files. I attached a roster file. It is completely crash free, even for franchise mode. I've settled on using this file as my template for new roster creation. ps I posted last year an excel file that calculates rosters pretty quickly using data from the chadwick database. I've been working on improving it, making it easier to use too, and have made a lot of improvements to it compared to last year. Attached is that file compressed, but it doesn't have many instructions in it yet. Anyway, if you'd like try the attached files and poke around it to see what I mean. Hope this helps. This is a set of rosters that was made with the MLB2k12 Ratings Calculator. Each are franchise ready. Player portraits and other individual settings are set to default. Expansion teams (the team didn't exist for that given year) are filled with minor league players. This file has the seasons from 1954 thru 2016. Download the "UnisNew" file to use extra uniforms. The rosters have the uni slots setup for these extra unis. I plan to update the descriptions to explain things in more detail.

    Updated list of rosters. For the years prior to 1998 expansion teams are filled with random minor league players. I will be looking into possibly removing the expansion teams. Seasons included: 2016, 2015, 2011, 2009, 2008, 2006, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1998, 1993, 1989, 1986, 1983, 1980, 1978, 1976, 1972, 1969, 1968, 1966, 1964, 1962, 1958, 1954, 1950, 1945, 1931, 1927, and 1915. All years are playable in exhibition, playoff and franchise mode. I like setting up a playoff for the older seasons.
