Be careful viewing that site, and make sure your anti-virus is up to date. I viewed around 10 comics, then started getting AVS warning pop-ups. Been getting them since, and have had a few randomly-named files attempt to access the internet. Need to run a virus scan and clean my system out now. Great fun. -

Random thoughts on a Monday morning at 3:35am because I can't sleep and have work in a few hours; Went to Rothesay on Saturday - walked about 10/11 miles, and ran about 2. And yet, woke up today feeling fit as hell - no pain at all. Losing all that extra weight really does do a lot of good. Down to a solid 140 now. For some reason, I'm really into music the past few weeks. Even started listening to my mp3 player during lunch at work. T.I.'s Big Things Poppin and a lot of tracks on the new Bone Thugs 'n' Harmony album are on rotation, as well as some random tracks from the DJ Khaled album, some old school stuff (West Coast All Stars and Special Ed making appearances) - even some U.K rap, which can be horrible at best, has some decent tracks these days. Long may it continue. Oh, and the KRS-One and Marley Marl album is fire. The beats are lacking, but the lyrics are probably the best you'll hear this year - or if the start of the year is any indication on how next year will go, probably next year as well. Check out Akon - "Sorry". Real ****. The Amir Khan - Willie Lomond fight video is now on YouTube. Skip to the 5th round if you just want the action. Good to see the Yankees getting it back together again - before losing 3 straight. Well, at least they won today. I really need to start work on Waterfront Park again. Just not had time - apologies to anyone looking for an update. Got a new case for my PC last week, and it's a beast. 25cm fan in the side panel. My CPU temperature has went from 80-86°c in my old case to 64-68°c in the new case with 1 new intake fan on the back grille - and I still have another 2 to put in. Oh, and the LEDs are hot. That said, was looking at some Antec PSUs for the system (still using the 215W that I got with the system back in 2001) and had my eye on the NeoHE 430W, but it won't work with my motherboard, which only has the 20-pin ATX connection - no P4. Worst part is, Antec don't even have any PSUs which will work with only an ATX connection, so I'm on the hunt for a good PSU that will function only a 20-pin ATX connection. Working with women you know you'd ask out if you didn't work with them is almost as bad as having a girlfriend who lives 40 miles away. Hey God, cut me a break, will you? It's funny how you can take a 10 minute visit to the news on BBC.co.uk on pretty much any given day and see exactly why there is hope for humanity, and also exactly why there is no nope for humanity. According to "our" new non-elected "Prime Minister", the world owes a debt to the U.S. for its fight against "terrorism". That's too many sarcasm-quotes in one sentance. Then again, considering the subject matter, who cares? Link to BBC.co.uk article. The doctor arrested in Australia after the incident at Glasgow Airport was released, and is happy to have his honour restored. Yet, despite being cleared of any wrongdoing, his working visa has been removed by the U.K. Immigration Minister, citing Dr. Haneef's "unsitable character" as the reason. Hello? He's a ******* doctor, who is, legally at least, in exactly the same position as almost any other doctor working in the U.K. who wasn't born here. Oh, wait - he's Muslim. Forget that. Obviously a terrorist! And now, a sign that there is still some men in the world who have some good, old fashioned values - Man dies rescuing his girlfriend. Does anyone else notice that it's rare to see a man hold a door open for a woman, or even anyone, these days? What about openeing a car door for a woman, waiting until she gets in, closing it, then going to the other side and getting in? No? Figures - that's the same trend I'm seeing here. And I don't like it. R.I.P. to this man. Finally, the lighter side of the news - check out this crazy video - and spot the prison bi...umm, "female" at 00:21 and 02:57. Have a good week, everybody. Peace. -

He probably won't be a big name across the pond yet, but keep your eyes open for Amir Khan if you're a boxing fan. He had his 13th fight on Saturday night, his first real test, and he came out strongly. A lot of boxing critics have been saying that he hadn't had a true test and hadn't shown much power, but on Saturday night, he fought Commonwealth Champion Willie Lomond from Glasgow and won in the 7th round. He took a beating in the 6th and was lucky to survive, but showed true heart and grit in getting off the canvas, taking the best Lomond had, then coming out in the 7th and landing a succession of sweet punches, including an uppercut which broke Lomond's jaw. Lomond's corner pulled him out before the 8th and Khan took the belt. It emeged just after the fight that Lomond had also suffered a broken nose. So much for the "no power" angle. Not only that, he's fast as all hell. I'm just waiting for this fight to be leaked to the torrents or released on DVD. It's Glasgow fair weekend here, and most places were off on Friday and off today - no such luck. In on Friday, in today. If I hear the word "capacitor" tomorrow, I'll either scream or burst into a fit of laughter. Back to the single life after an 8 month releationship. Long-distance relationships really do test you, but it'll work out better for us both in the long run. Tip to the fellas - stay local if possible! The weather is absolutely crazy here. Usually, we do get some sort of summer - so far this year, we've had nothing. A few sunny days in April and May, since then, it's just been rain, rain and more rain. Messes with your mind...I can't believe it's the middle of July already. The year's going to be over before we know it. Thinking about getting a notebook - the Inspiron 1721 looks decent. Now I just need to hassle the guys in sales tomorrow to get XP on it instead of Vista and remove the wireless card and Microsoft "Works". Who even uses that crap? Scary fact of the week about hip-hop - the best tracks that are being released are seriously sliding toward the R&B genre, and the best actual hip-hop that's being released is on remixes. Thank God KRS-One and Marley Marl have released an album - it might bring some life back to the music. Shout to KC for getting me started on Daft Punk...I didn't see it coming at all. Remember the mini-CDs you could get years ago that came as free CDs for magazines etc.? Found these in a store the other day; 1.4GB mini-DVD-Rs! 4 for £1 too, pretty good deal. Have a good week. :) -

Sad to see the Yankees going back downhill again this week after it looked like they were bouncing back - here's hoping they'll get back to what they were doing a few weeks back. Regardless, though, A-Rod is still on a tear. All the talk of Barry Bonds breaking Aaron's record really seems incomplete when you think that A-Rod has almost 500 homers already - even if most of them were in Ameriquest Field. Here's hoping Jeter's hip injury isn't too serious. Didn't do too much today, but it's good to get back to normal again. Had my Uncle's funeral to attend last Sunday. For all the youngsters on the site, if you ever hear the phrase "You don't know what you've got until it's gone", remember it, because it's very, very true. If anyone has a Dell computer and ever has an issue where they need to call technical support, please go through the diagnostics on the Dell website before calling. It saves us time, it'll save you time (and thus, less phone charges), and most of all, it'll save both parties a lot of hassle. So much for summer. If you've ever been to the U.K., or, more precisely, Scotland, you should know that we don't get summer - we have a winter and a spring. 10 months of cold and rain, and 2 months of heat and rain. Thunderstorms, flash flooding and sudden rain storms. Had plans to hit the basketball courts today, but the rain put an end to that as well. So Larry King has secured an unpaid interview with Paris Hilton, 1 day after her release from jail. I want to start a competition for the name of the show. My entry is "Who cares?". Oh, and George W. Bush met with the Vietnamese president to give him a lecture on human rights. Oh, the irony. Quote from Dubya; ""Societies are enriched when people are allowed to express themselves freely or worship freely". This is the same president who has killed countless people in various countries since being elected, and the same president who allows his law enforcement agencies to conduct unjust surveillance on, among many other groups, hip-hop artists based on what they say in their music? Get the **** outta here. Someone send this guy for some political re-education, please! Out for another week. Peace. -
It definitely should - I just haven't gotten around to updating it. ( I'll try to find some time this weekend.

Yep, and from what I've been seeing, he's not been doing too shabbily, either. Some nice fielding plays. Total Installer Thingy. Random thoughts; First time I've done this for a while. Not had a lot of spare time recently. Really good to see the Yankees get their acts together. Ever notice how sometimes it only takes a small message from someone you care about to brighten your day up? If I had a song for "Favourite Things" like in The Sound Of Music, that would be in there. Best friend/brother's birthday yesterday, had a good, but late, night out in town. He'll only be technically older than me for another 4 months and 8 days, but I'm taking every opportunity to call him an old bastage anyway. Spent today doing this with my aforementioned friend for his sister's house; And completely disregarding this sign; To dump somewhere close to a ton of grass, earth, rocks and random other crap in these bushes. This was the last set, where we actually tossed the bags as well. There were piles of earth everywhere. The above resulted in these as well. Now I just need to spend an hour or so in the bath to get the crap out from under my fingernails and rest the old muscles...hopefully they won't hurt too much tomorrow! Can't even make a fist right now... But hey, the fresh air is good! Up in 6 hours for work again...if I hear the word "capacitor" tomorrow I might develop a strange habit of hitting "release" on my desk phone. If you haven't already seen it, check out The Pursuit Of Happyness. Slightly corny, but a good watch. And to close off in traditional fashion, **** Strathclyde Police. Have a good week, people. P.S. Avoid those counterfeit Magnum's going around in the Tri-State area. Crazy! -

My first portrait mod. Updated portraits for Aarom Baldiris, Tyler Clippard, Juan Francia, Steven Jackson, Jeff Kennard, Ross Ohlendorf, P.J. Piliterre, Cody Ehlers, Shawn Garrett, Noah Hall, Alan Horne, Brett Smith and Francisco Cervelli. They are not works of art by any means, and will probably be torn to pieces when the next Total Portraits set comes out, but until then, these are better than nothing...at least in my opinion! They really are very quick and nasty, but they work. See the screenshot for an idea of the quality and bear in mind the degradation due to JPEG compression - if you like them, download them and enjoy. If not, don't bother, and don't start complaining. To install, simply import the files using EAGraph, bigGUI or whatever else you want to use. I've been using EAGraph to import the files, and I've not run into any problems, but let me know if you have any and I'll see what I can do. Peace, Mark B. -

Ever had one of those weekends that just make you think "Wow"? For me, this weekend past was one of those. Was walking home from work on Friday night and ended up rolling with my man for a few hours after he was on his way to my house to pick me up and we met on the way. Roll on to Saturday, haircut and a shopping trip in the morning and a trip across Scotland to see my girl in the afternoon. Spent a few hours with her (and damn near ended up in a rather illegal situation on a bench in the middle of a shopping centre ) before heading home again and chilling with the boys on Saturday night. Woke up today, relaxed, went out again and just got home an hour ago - it's now 2:17am and I start work at 8am. I really need to become a vocal advocate for the 3-day weekend. Bring it on. (Damn, I love women. ) -

Just been working. Same ****, different day. I'm on YIM if you're around later on. Baseball is here! Reading the Spring Training reports on Yankees.com this week really made it feel like baseball season again. I found out this week that ohne of the guys I work with it a Blue Jays fan. I'll need to either rectify that, or kill him, at some point this year. Bring on the first Yankees/Blue Jays series this year. -

It's 4:30am on Monday morning. I'm sitting at my PC coding HTML, organising MP3s and listening to the "Crazy Frog" version of the Axel F soundtrack while wondering how the hell I'm going to manage a 9am-5pm shift at work. Am I nuts? (That's about as random as it gets at this time in the morning.) Dance, you turds! :shotgun: :wynar: :music3: :phones: :party1: :phones: :music3: -

5 miles, wow, you must be super-fit! :alright: Maybe my standards are too high, but I was running upwards of 10 miles per day when I was 8 - spring, summer, autumn or winter. Walking 5 miles is a cake-walk. Here's a newsflash - it's the middle of winter in a good chunk of the world. You are aware it's the 6th of February, yes? That explains the snow in Connecticut. As Fred said, western Europe has some rather large weather problems right now in addition to the standard unfriendly weather for this time of year. As for pretty damn cold, try solid ice on the streets here in Glasgow. -4°c isn't an unusual temperature right now, and it's a hell of a lot better now that it was in December and January. You want to complain about the weather, at least have a reason. "Only 13"...give me a break. If you haven't lost that attitude by the time you hit 16, God help you. You don't have a bike or a car, so what? Neither do I, and I'm 21. Use your legs, or get a bike, a skateboard, anything, but lose the "I'm only 13, I need my mommy to ride me everywhere" sympathy trip, please. -

:lmao: Hey, Jay, you should just send your thoughts to KC via e-mail and let him post them for you. He'd do a much better job of it. Until you learn to respect the woman who brought you into the world, I suggest you might want to re-consider what you post in future in order to not seem like a spoiled child who doesn't want to get off his lazy *** to walk to his friend's house. If you wanted to go that badly, you'd walk and not depend on your mother to ride you everywhere. Hey Jay - "keep it real! k?" :laff: -

What, you don't have legs? You don't have change for a bus or a cab? Maybe, just maybe, your mother has more important things to do, or simply wants to relax, than be your personal chauffeur service. -

KC, come on man...you're killing yourself with that line. Not much going on this weekend. Spent yesterday repairing a few old PCs that have been gathering dust, working on the website today, and I might investigate a few hard drives later on. I think I'm becoming more of a geek every day...at least, that's the first thing I think of when I look at the random sticks of RAM, collection of case screws, CPU fan & heatsink and screwdriver set on my desk and PSU sitting on a table behind me. Hmm. (Side note to the above - of the 40,000 members here, I bet the amount of people who have seen and used EDO-RAM can be counted in 3 digits, at most. The system I'm recovering right now has a huge 48MB of it. ) Spring Training edges closer...thank God. Valentine's day...there's a tough one. Need to think about that this week. Our call quota is increasing at work this week, so we'll be going from an average of 7 calls per day to 17-18 per day. On the plus side, however, we're focusing on Optiplex specialisation, so that means easier (and quicker) calls, more parts booked, and less negative feedback from customers. For some reason, I've had literally nothing to eat since 12:30pm on Friday. It's now 14:43pm on Sunday. Lucozade, water & Coke probably isn't the best choice of fluids to recover from illness on Friday night, but it seems to be working out OK at holding back my appetite. That's probably not a good thing, however. Oh well. This provided a decent laugh yesterday. And with that, see you next week, another week closer to baseball season. -

Random Thoughts On A Sunday Morning Updated To 7-28
MarkB replied to Yankee4Life's topic in Left Field (Off-Topic)
Not so random thoughts; One thing I want to figure out before I die is what controls how you feel on any given day. Some days, you just wake up tired. Others, you wake up happy, for no apparent reason. Others, you wake up pissed off, again, for no apparent reason. Apathetic, bored, crazy, energetic, and many others, are on the list and I can never figure out why. It controls how you feel for the whole day, too. It's going to be quiet around here for a week or so now. A guy I went to school with, and was pretty good friends with, was killed just before new year, and his funeral is tomorrow at lunchtime. Unfortunately, I didn't find this out until Friday night, so didn't have time to organise the day off work. The ironic thing is that he had just turned his life around in the past few years, had organised a house for himself, and was living with his girlfriend and 2-year old son. Need a reason to get pissed off at the world? There you go. Another kid growing up with no father, another single parent struggling to raise a kid by herself, and another family ripped to pieces because of mindless violence and ignorance. And yet, as soon as the memories fade, the banners are taken down from the windows and the gossip stops, the same thing will happen again in a couple of weeks, if not sooner. I've been on an R&B kick today. Started listening to 112 when I woke up, which made me think about my girlfriend, and I'll probably be listening to that for the rest of the night now. Man, women can really mess with your mind without even knowing it. I'm looking forward to pitchers & catchers reporting for Spring Training, but I'm waiting for the graphic on Yankees.com to be created to make it official. I'm looking forward to the 2007 season, and to seeing how the Yankees prospects develop. Life hack of the day - to remove the smell of paint, chop an onion in half and leave it in a bowl or saucer. The stairs in my block were just painted (something that we really could have done without, as well as the cigarette ash and random mess being left over by the cowboy paint-wielders), and all the houses and the block now stinks to high hell. And somehow, they actually managed to screw it up! How you can actually fail to paint a wall correctly baffles me. Microsoft had an exhibition of Vista in Dell on Friday with some attraction items to entice people into giving half a damn. Free pizza (with 700 people in the office...actually, 600 geeks, 100 people, they order 2, yes, 2 boxes of 10" pizza - needless to say, they then had to order more, which was again finished in less than 5 minutes), free T-shirts (the ugliest and most pathetic T-shirts I've ever seen, I can guarantee they will be used to clean cars) and a few hours of boring crap about the greatness of Vista made for one very unimpressed crew of Dell techies. The high point of the event was when a crew of us new starts on the floor decided to print hundreds of Linux and Mac OSX logos and stick them to our desks while the Microsoft gerbils were being given a tour of the facility. The looks on the faces were priceless. One of the client teams had to make a bit of a run for his life when he attempted to deliver a Vista T-Shirt to the Linux support team, however. I wish I had taken my camera in on Friday, but thank God that exhibition wasn't mandatory. The weather...pretty much speaks for itself. If you like webcomics, check out xkcd.com and ctrlaltdel-online.com. Discovered these 2 while at work (nothing else to do while awaiting calls than random internet surfing), and they can be pretty good. One positive to come out of the new flu bug that's going around is that due to the sickness and overall beating your body takes, you lose weight like a T-Rex on crack. However, due to a new exercise regime, I've been eating normally for going on 2 weeks now and I'm the same weight I was when I was ill. Chicken + tuna + random arm, shoulder and upper-body exercise = diesel. Speaking of food, it's dinner time! Have a good week everybody. -
Jesus, man! I've never even seen C++ before, yet I spent 30 seconds searching on Google, and I got 3 results showing me exactly how to write to a file using C++. Yes, you should. In fact, I'd recommend searching Google before asking any question unrelated to MVP here.

Try going to school from 8:50am to 3:40pm, running the streets from 3:40pm until 2-4am, going to bed at 3-5am, getting up for school at 7:30am and repeat for 5 days per week, then change to running the streets from 10am until 6am. It's not the age which is fun, it's your own experiences, trust me. -
Yeah, true. Updated the post. Damn aspect ratios.
