My WinXP machine just stutters and will only record up to 8 FPS, I have to experiment more with it for sure, but I've dedicated so much time to just get up and running that the idea of figureing out that problem just gices me a headache. My Win7 machine, I record absolutely just fine... pretty much any game. Or anything else. I use DXTory and Bandicam with an occasional Shadowplay. but, I can't any program to get more than 8 FPS on my WinXP. I'm sure there is a way, maybe.

Yeah, I always use the XP compatibility mode. So, you use multiple monitors and Win7... UGH.. I just don't understand. It seems to run fine now, but the only difference is that I went to 1 monitor. What a silly game this is. Wow, I work in Gig Harbor here and there. I actually live in Port Orchard. Yeah, good ol' Tacoma Aroma ;-)

lol... clever. I actually use that machine more for my studio, I've always been a lover of PC games and so I wanted a machine that could handle both. Unfortunately, some older games just suffer with it. But, I love MVP so, my other machine works just fine. I miss not being able to use recording software with it, but that is alright. still fun. So you are completely right about that. Hmm... I have heard of some people find more success with multiple ssd's, I should have went that route instead of one massive drive.

HAHAHAH... OMG!!! WTF... Unbelievable! Wow! UGH! So, yeah... I tested out MVP 13 on 4 straight games and simmed a season twice... On my Win7 Machine. And NOTHING... No crash, no freezing. Just pure stable beauty... Thank you Ender Wiggin007. IT WAS MY FREAKING 2nd Monitor... which I never even thought about that being the problem. And Since I use that monitor for my WinXP machine now, I didn't really try MVP 13 on my Win7 machine again since I switched back to one monitor, because it worked so beautifully on my WinXP... So imagine my surprise when I tried it again, and So yeah... If you can't get MVP 13 to work and you have more than one monitor setup, that is most likely the culprit. Unbelievable... Now, some mods still won't work well with Win7, period. A lot of Ty's mods, like the Savreader and 05edit and such just doens't function on my Win7 machine and they have always worked on my WinXP so... I'm still going to dedicate the WinXP machine to MVP13, because some of those mods are so awesome, once you pop you can't stop. But now I can use my external drive to switch between computers so I can record certain games with my Win7 machine, which will be nice. So unless something else happens or it becomes an "Awakened" scenario. MVP 13 works on my Win7 machine as of now. Yeah. Very nice... so I'll cya all at the ballgame...

In my opinion, not worth the money it costed me. My wife was pissed! been married for 14 years and that purchase was a WTF are you doing speech! But, oh well... For some reason I thought that a SSD was going to speed up everything to cheetah levels... doesn't work that way. Don't get me wrong, I like ssd's but a simple 100 g or maybe 250 g would have been sufficient. And for most of what I do, a ssd isn't that important. Live and learn.

agreed... I was just thinking this myself... I actually read the tutorial yesterday and downloaded kraws potrait maker. If I can get a good grip on it, I'll do my part.

Well they both do work... Only the Win7 computer just won't work consistently with MVP 12 & 13. I can play vanilla and all the fantastic Total Classics without an issue. Never had a problem with them, but MVP 12 & 13 mods just work every 1 / 5 times... it is really strange... Though, besides not recording myself, I run MVP 13 with all the updated mods just fin on my Win XP... So no big loss for me... But before I realized that I still had my old computer, trying to get just MVP 13 to run was bazaar. Made no sense why others could run it on Win7 fine, but I couldn't. And that any other total conversion mod would work too just fine. Just the MVP 12 & 13 mods. Very strange... But I got it all worked out with my old computer so I'm happy.

Well, neither computer is new, per-say. My Win7 - (Gaming/Studio) i7-3770 3.4GHz 16 Gig RAM Nvidia GTX 660 2gig 256bit 500 Gig SSD 2 Tera HD My WinXP - (Dragged out of my Garage for MVP 05) AMD 64 Processor 3000+ 2.0GHz 4 Gig RAM Nvidia GeForce 7300 GT 512 MB 128-bit 250 Gig HD 500 Gig External USB Drive So, yeah... works for me. FYI... Great Cyberface Work!

@Ender Wiggin007 Same here... I never have had a problem with total classics or vanilla mvp05, only MVP12 and MVP13... BUT... since I switched to my older WINXP computer, I've had no problems with them either. So my beastly (kinda) Win 7 gaming machine suffers drastically with MVP12 & MVP13, my wimpy ancient ex-computer (whom we parted on not so good terms :-) can handle any mod I've thrown... and OH MY GOD... Ty's mods are so awesome... I love the schedule changer, box score extractor and SavReader... So awesome when creating a dynasty. I like to record my games and so occasionally I still play a MVP13 game on my win 7 computer (Because I can't record worth crap on my WinXP Com) from time to time. BUT I still have problems getting it to work here and there. I find restarting my computer and turning off all Anti-Virus and Firewall programs helps me more than anything else. Strange, I know,

Thanks Daflyboys!

Alright, Weirdness... I don't get it... finicky... well I got this roster to work just fine now... I don't understand... I seriously tried to sim up to the all-star no less then 6 times and it always froze at about MAY... BUT... I just tried it again for S*&t and giggles... and it worked... So, Thanx again Daflyboys!
-
As always... thank you... your Rosters are always so accurate and so much appreciated! One thing though... I was doing some tests because for some reason when I was attempting to sim up to the all star... it freezes... but only with this trade-deadline roster... your all-star roster makes it to the end of the season without any hiccups. All I have installed is Homers facepack, 2014 schedule and your rosters. And I have no problems with any of your rosters except this one ;-( No I will always admit that it could be user error, but I've tested it several times and it never makes it out of MAY with this roster, but with your last roster I can sim the entire season. Is there something I need to do?

@Ender Wiggin007 First off daflyboys is exactly right about going for the 5$ for unlimited downloads... so worth it! Secondly... yeah these guys know what they are saying. What worked for me... '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> I explained everything that I did to make it work for Win7 as far as I can go... But in general, it seems to be a cyberface issue and as long as you have Homers newest and daflyboys rosters... it generally works, as long I restart my Win7 computer if I perform any other actions on it... very strange... Hope it helps... Though... really... go for the 10$ or 5$ membership to truly get value for your game. @YFL Things happened to me in my 3 days of imprisonment... I can't really talk about it, but I've learned my lesson... ;-)

Win 7 & Win Xp - What Works And What Doesn't
asidewalkcipher replied to asidewalkcipher's topic in Support
So Y4L, I'm still having problems downloading files... still saying that it's in a forever loop. I've been trying to get "KSM Datafile 2007 v4.7"... I wanted to check out its camera options and all. I know that Trues is busy and he's done so much for everyone here, but do you have any idea when some of those files that are not downloading will work? Obviously not that important but that is not the only file to still be Out Of Order. Or, there is something wrong on my side, in which case... my apologies. -
Win 7 & Win Xp - What Works And What Doesn't
asidewalkcipher replied to asidewalkcipher's topic in Support
Yeah, wow... I had no idea either. I thought that XP was just no longer being supported at all... -
Yeah, Bummer... I download mlb 2k12 from steam last year sometime. But it is no longer available there either. Sorry dude... I actually got my copy of MVP Baseball 2005 in 2007 or 2008, and it cost me $35.00 of ebay. I remember at the time thinking that it was a bit much for a few year old sports game... MAN was I wrong, worth every penny. If you see MLB05 on for anything less than $50... pick that sucker up fast... worth every penny. As for mlb 2k12 or 13... I don't know, I really like the pitching mechanics, and 2k12 is by far better because of this very website, but to each their own as to how much one would be willing to pay for it. I got for $24.99 of steam last year sometime. So I would pay that I guess :-)

2014 Schedule Update And Players Ages Being Young (2005)
asidewalkcipher replied to markm75's topic in Support
I believe if you say no to having the player age change, that it fixes this. When you use the schedule updater of course. -
Hello Everyone! Well I am not completely sure on where to post this, but I figured that all my trial & error scenarios might help others that have suffered from the same issues that I had... Namely that certain mods and applications respond so differently depending on your OS. First off... The mods at this website are the so wonderful and inspired and I appreciate all the different modders that provide there services to this site and the MVP05 game. So, I have had a whole lot of problems getting a stable modded game to run. Not that I haven't been able to play a game unhindered now and then, but a STABLE game... that's been tough. Even harder is that I let little things annoy me, which doesn't help. Like having the numbers 2005 over the calender, even if the games represented are from 2014... it drives me bonkers. I do believe I have problems. ;-) Even though, if there is a issue that needed fixin' you bet there is a mod out there. Like with the schedule situation, we have "schedule updater" by ty. (Which I know is a tough mod to get now) Which I got to work "ONCE" and only that one time. I don't know how, why and to what extent that it was made possible. But on my current Win 7 system, only once... and that took way to many hours and go around maneuvers that I don't even remember them all. But that doesn't matter because my MVP13 only works if I restart my computer, turn off all Anti-Virus programs, run from desktop and perform a ritual of subjugation to the gods of chaos. Sometimes... I've been able to play a game and sometimes two if I do those steps. BUT if I do ANYTHING ELSE on the computer, it's game over. That's right... restart the computer again, turn off all AV Programs, run from the desktop, make sure you run as ADMIN and have the WIN XP compatibility box check or whatever... yup this technique allows me to play roughly 50% of the time. But you can forget about using the "Schedule Updater" or basically any third party programs. Ugh... frustrating yet still worth it to play such awesome mods with a fantastic game. Now, the Total Classic mods are a different story. They work every time, never a problem... I don't think that I've ever had a crash or any difficulties playing them. Thank God, because those are works of ART and I'm not even remotely joking... those mods are masterpieces and I tip my hat to all those involved. Well, because I love playing the classics but I really wanted to play the current roster and season also, I had to come up with something else. So what I did was dig my 10 -12 year old desktop from my garage and installed XP on it and have that setup to be purely for playing MVP 13 and whatever the future holds. And after taking a few days and random tinkering, what is the verdict? MVP 13 with all the mods to update it like "Daflyboys Rosters and Homers Face Pack" works PERFECT, not one issue. Well what about the third party programs like "Schedule Updater"? YEAH, never had a problem with those either... ... It's truly the most wonderful feeling of accomplishment that I have felt in the last month and a half of trying so hard to get MVP 13 to work with my WIN 7 computer... which is so far superior, it's sad. So a decade old Win XP computer fly's circles around my beast win 7 gamer computer... when concerning this game with those mods. So my advice to anyone who is having difficulties with stability and some of the mods on a WIN 7 system... ... I still don't have a clue... I know that restarting every time you want to play, turning off ALL AV Programs, running from desktop and winxp compatibility mode, along with running as admin... these steps did work to allow me to play the game here and there. But the programs by ty and other third party mods just didn't really function for me. But those other steps did allow me to play several games on Win 7, so it was possible... just not to my satisfaction. Anyways, I hope that my experiences might have helped others that also had problems with Win 7 and MVP 13 and beyond.

A Few Questions About Downloading Particular Mods?
asidewalkcipher replied to asidewalkcipher's topic in Support
@Daflyboys You ROCK, that was the problem, I didn't know that you had to also change the DIR in OPTIONS where the DATA folder is, so don't import from there but change it in options, not just checking the box. THANK YOU -
A Few Questions About Downloading Particular Mods?
asidewalkcipher replied to asidewalkcipher's topic in Support
Haha, ugh... sorry Y4L. I obviously didn't catch that post... Typical. Thanx for pointing to it. Daflyboys, I see what you are saying about MVPedit... interesting... I seemed to have thought that myself but there was a different issue when importing from that folder, but I shall try this again. Thanx -
First off, I apologize if I'm posting a wrong spot. I've looked around and can't really find this answer anywhere. Question #1 For some reason some mods just won't download, they seem to be on a loop or something. These are primarily the mods in the Tools Section. I wanted to download "The Game Resolution Changer" & also "Box Scores Extractor Utilities"... both I've tried to download from different computers and with no avail. If this is only on my side... bummer... I don't understand, but I think that there is actually a problem. Does anyone know what this is about? Question #2 The "MVPedit" tool does not show any appeareances in the box, even when I check that particular option under tools. This is even with an unmodded version of MVP05. Very strange... I've read that this could mean that there is a cyberface problem, but why would this be the case with an unmodded game? There is no support button on any of those download programs; unless I am just completely just not seeing it. I've looked at the support pages on that program, and I still can't see any images, but the program itself seems to work fine otherwise. Does anyone else have this issue? That's about it for now... thanx for any ideas. So far most of my questions have been answered and fixed... the support on this site is remarkable.
-
@Daflyboys... You nailed it! I don't understand how there was a cyberface issue with only using the the full MVP13 mod, but after installing the 2014 rosters and faces... I was able to start a game and play a few innings without a problem... Hopefully this means that all is well and I now have my mother folder from which I can copy and create other conversions from. Thank you so much! @Yankee4life... I apologize if I posted in a wrong spot, I thought that this forum was the one to use. And since my issue seemed similar but differed slightly, I felt that it would be better suited as a separate post. In the future I will try to build from forum post already created if there are similarities.
