  1. My apologies if this is the wrong forum category. So I've really started to dive into 2k12 modding and I've been working on player portraits. In my experience so far I've seen three basic styles. I'm thinking about maybe sharing some of my own work, but first I want to gauge what you guys expect in player portraits. There's really no right or wrong way to make them look, but I'm curious as to which ones you guys think look the best. 1. This R.A. Dickey portrait is mostly headshot but also include some shoulder. The portraits that came with the game were mainly like this. 2. This is a Julio Teheran portrait that includes head and shoulders and goes down to the upper chest. (this is my personal favorite style.) . 3. This one of Nori Aoki is kind of a "box" that gives sort of a classic baseball card feel to the portrait. So give me your votes, folks. Which one grabs you the most? Headshot, head and shoulders, or baseball card?
  2. In my experience NBA mod tool is very finnicky about WHERE your .iff files are when you open them with the program. Of course I could be wrong since I'm fairly new to modding this game. But try placing your cyberfaces in the installation folder and opening them from there with NBA mod tool. That has fixed similar issues that I've had in the past. Also, did you transfer NBA mod tool with the thumb drive as well? If you did, that would probably cause some problems. I've never successfully transferred an installed program from one system to another. Download and install a fresh copy of it on your desktop computer if you haven't already.
  3. How does one update pitcher ratings??? I have found several very useful resources online that let me update batter ratings pretty accurately, but for pitching I have no idea how to proceed. Does anyone have a formula or scale or some other way to determine pitcher ratings?
  4. What did you use to transfer your files? When doing transfers with files like that you should use a thumb drive and not an internet backup since I've found the latter can sometimes compress files and screw them up. Also make sure that your .iff files are in the MLB 2k12 installation folder. For me, NBA mod tool stubbornly refuses to open up .iff files that are not in the installation folder. I've been editing some player portraits lately and I always have to keep my portrait.iff there.
  5. Thanks a lot, I will try this and tell you how it goes. I apologize for my noob-iness. I'm very new to modding this game, but thankfully I've found it to be much easier to mod than other games I've modded in the past (Madden 08, CoD, etc).
  6. I have been working on my own for over a week now...I have all the transactions done but YESTERDAY I ran into a hitch...all of a sudden the game refuses to open the roster and crashes when I hit "OK" after it finishes loading. I think it's because I changed a player's name in Ty's editor, I just have to find which player it was. Anyone encounter something like this before?
  7. Apologies if this is the wrong forum or if this topic has been beat to death unawares to me (I did a search and couldn't come up with anything). How do you experienced modders update player ratings? Do you use a formula, some basic chart, etc.?? Most of the ratings in updated rosters seem to be pretty accurate and I'm curious as to how you get to them.
  8. My controller absolutely will not do a thing on the skill drills, never has. Works fine on everything else, like quick game and franchise, but won't do a thing in the drills. Any idea what this might be and how to fix it?? I'm using a Logitech F310 on Windows 7 if that helps.
  9. Hello New to the site and glad to join! I received MLB 2k12 for Christmas this year, and being a fan of both baseball and modding (though I'm not a very good modder myself) I was eager to jump into it. I found Ty's roster editor pretty quickly after browsing through some forum topics here. The uniforms feature looks handy but I'm having trouble figuring out something. How would I take one of the default uniforms and use them for a created team? What I'm trying to do is take a uniform from one of the minor league teams and put them on a team I created using Create-a-Team. (The intent is to either watch them get demolished by a major league team, or lead them to a stunning upset )
