Another good win for the Yankees and they increased their lead over Tampa Bay to 7-1/2 games. I guess it’s the Rays who are SLIP, SLIDING, AWAY!! They have a 6 game lead over Toronto with 4 more games against them in the next few weeks. It would be good to put some more distance between them too.
-
A win is a win. Plus with Tampa Bay and Toronto playing each other, the Yankees have been able to add some distance over both of them as they trade wins.

My boss, originally from NJ who is also a Yankees fan, just said the same thing to me the other day. He’s told me stories of some of the Yankee games he attended in the past. For example, he was at the ALCS game in 1976 when Chris Chambliss hit the walk off HR to beat KC and get the Yankees into the World Series. He and his older brother tried to get onto the field like the thousands of others but a NYC cop pulled them back.

Nice win today. The Yankees remembered how to hit again as they open the game with 7 straight hits. Taillon goes 7-1/3 innings and only gives up 3 runs. I’m wondering in Derek Jeter gave the team a pep talk after last night’s loss — “You’re the F’n New York Yankees! Play like it!!” Hopefully they can keep this going tomorrow.

Despite playing almost an entire AAA lineup, the Yankees win the first game in 12 innings. Peraza goes 3 for 5 to get his first major league hits and Perez gets the game winning RBI. It’s nice to see the young guys coming through. They are the future of this team.

It turns out I was incorrect. From what I read, Stanton fouled balls off his foot multiple times during his at bat.
-
He fouled the ball, but it didn’t hit him. It was more the way he landed when he followed through on his swing. He fell forward and had to catch himself. He tried jogging it off but you could see there was some pain so Boone and the trainer took him out.

Another good win today, this time against the Twins. I expect that Yankee4Life was yelling when Sanchez hit the long home run to tie up the game. Judge and IKF later hit home runs to give the Yankees the 5-2 win. It was nice to see the Yankees score more than 2 runs and for Holmes to have an uneventful 9th inning for the save.
-
Nice performance by Montas yesterday - 5 innings, 1 hit, 7 K’s. Relievers that followed did well until Holmes had a nail biter 9th inning. The Yankees got an important win but there are still concerns with the hitters, other than Judge. There were still too many runners left in scoring position. Hopefully they can build on this win and start to do better as the Twins and old friends Gary Sanchez and Gio Urshela visit Yankee Stadium starting today.

We all know that you didn’t watch the game so you didn’t actually see Cole’s performance. He pitched a good game other than the one pitch that Ohtani tagged for a home run. The start of the bottom of the 6th inning was delayed because a fan jumped in the field and it took 5-10 minutes for security to catch him, handcuff him and slowly walk him off the field. Even the announcers mentioned how long the process was taking and wondered if it would affect Cole’s rhythm. Two consecutive errors (a bad throw from Donaldson to LeMahieu, and a booted grounder by IKF) put two runners on bases. Ohtani came up and after a few pitches, hit the home run to give the Angels the lead. Say what you want about the team losing, but don’t blame Cole. The guys behind him let him down. And if they are out of first place by next week, I’m sure you will be very happy like the rest of the Yankees haters, since you will get exactly what you’ve been publicly hoping for (and posting about) for quite a while.

I’m not defending the Red Sox, just once again pointing out your bias toward all things Boston and anyone from Boston or Massachusetts in general. Anything you don’t like in baseball is the fault of the Red Sox or their fans. I’ve seen plenty of obnoxious Yankees fans over the years, especially before the Red Sox won tte World Series in 2004, but know that the behavior of some is not a reflection of the entire population of Yankees fans or New Yorkers in general. Have you forgotten when Yankees fans in the Yankee Stadium bleachers in the 1970’s would throw batteries at opposing team outfielders? Then again, those outfielders probably deserved it, right? Your “Boston is the root of all evil” act on this website has gotten old and tired.

Are the Red Sox the only money grubbing East coast team???? What about Midwest teams? I seem to recall Cleveland and Detroit playing games in the snow. And how exactly do the Red Sox have control of the MLB schedule makers? Do they have some dirty secret they are holding over them to guarantee that they open at home every season? It’s all a conspiracy!!

German outpitches Scherzer and the Yankees win 4-2. And now the Mets push back deGrom so the Yankees face Taijuan Walker tomorrow instead.
-
What was that?
-
Last night would have been a good night to bet on him pitching well. Over his last 6 starts, he has alternated good starts with bad starts. His previous start was bad, so last night he was as due for a good start.

Have you been to Bravehearts games before? I’ve seen the WooSox a number of times but haven’t been to a Bravehearts game yet.
-
This is in the wrong thread. It should be posted in the “Let’s dump on ex-Yankee players” thread.
-
Yup, the season is over. Time to blow up the team and then fire Boone and Cashman. I’d post more but it’s not worth it. All you guys ever do is focus on the negative with this team, year after year.
-
You keep forgetting that baseball games are 9 innings long . . .
-
It seems like all the Yankee pitchers give up HRs to Devers. Taillon recovered quite nicely, retiring the last 17 batters he faced and giving up only 2 hits in 6 innings.
-
Gutless? He left the game due to shoulder tightness and is scheduled for an MRI. tomorrow. Hopefully he’s not injured. The beginning of the end? the Yankees are still up by 14 games in the AL East. It seems a little early to be throwing in the towel.

According to this article, hitters are assessed a strike if they are not ready to hit when there are 9 seconds left on the pitch clock. Pitchers are penalized a ball if the pitch clock expires. https://theathletic.com/news/pitch-clock-minor-league/n0D82u2AnSpv/?amp=1
-
It will be good when they add the pitch clock next year. I’ve been to three Triple-A games this year, and with the pitch clock in use, the games are much quicker. The game I went to on Thursday started at 6:45 p.m. and finished at 9:20 p.m.
-
I was going to post something similar. After that one inning, he set down 12 of the next 14 batters he faced and got into the 7th inning. He didn’t let the bad inning get to him and kept the Yankees in the game, allowing them to come back and win again.

It is because 2KSports was awarded the MLB license in 2006. This meant that EA Sports could no longer produce a baseball game using the names or likenesses of actual major league players. They did produce an NCAA college game in 2006 but moved on from baseball games after that. By the time the MLB license was available again, they had no interest in creating another game. Plus, with the increase in console users, games like The Show became more popular.
