  1. 4 walks, a hit batsman and Ohtani can’t make it out of the first inning??!! KC - I’m sure you weren’t expecting that when you got to the ballpark tonight!
  2. It’s also easier to say “I’ll meet you at the bodega at the corner of Broadway and 59th Street”
  3. I haven’t been through Kelly Square since it was reconfigured. It was always an adventure going through there when traffic was coming in every direction. Definitely not a place to be a meek driver.
  4. I’ve read good things about those two guys. It would be interesting to see what they can do, however, the Yankees will need to clear space on the 40 man roster for them. It sounds like you’ve been able to see a number of games in person which is nice. I’ll be at the stadium on Aug. 21st when the Twins are in town. My middle daughter gave me two tickets for the game for Father’s Day (section 112, infield box seats). She and I make an annual trip to see a game in NY and missed our game last year. The next day, the whole family is going to see the Railriders when they come to town to play the Worcester Red Sox. Worcester is the next town over from us and I’ve heard good things about the new Triple-A park they built. My wife’s company is a corporate sponsor of the WooSox so she was able to get complimentary tickets for us.
  5. You only need one set of .LOC files. My guess is that The xxJPN.LOC files contain the game text in Japanese. If you want Japanese text, replace the two .LOC files in the game with the xxJPN.LOC files.
  6. You’re right. I’m talking to a wall, so my future comments will be actual game commentary. Maybe I’ll setup a “Yankee Gripes & Complaints” thread. That will reduce the traffic in this thread quite a bit . . .
  7. @Yankee4Life I would welcome Yankee talk. All we ever get is Yankee complaining about the “pathetic, lazy, overpaid SOBs”. Judge isn’t going anywhere. He’s the face of the franchise. You and Ritchie should get over it and move on. @Ritchie I’m a liar?? When did I say I was happy with how the Yankees season has been going. I realize it’s not all unicorns and rainbows for them. Sure I am disappointed and want to see them improve the roster but I’m not going to come on here night after night and whine about them being “pathetic” when they lose and then say nothing when they win. Baseball is supposed to be entertainment, and whether the Yankees win or lose, it doesn’t affect me personally. Why should I let it get to me? Plus, I tend to be a “glass half full” type of person, so I’m always hopeful. Call me naive, but I’d rather look at things that way rather than being a “glass 3/4 empty” person like you seem to be.
  8. I follow them for the same reason you say you do. It is baseball season and they are my team, through good times and bad. I am happy when they win and disappointed when they lose, yet I don't complain or whine about it. As a fan, I don't give up on my team when they fall behind in the first inning or two and I like to think that there's always a chance they will come back. I guess you wouldn't know what that's like.
  9. Then why keep following them? Is it just so you have something to post here?
  10. You’re at the game? If Sanchez keeps this up, Y4L’s head will explode.
  11. Well, Judge is having a better day today. So far in 4 at bats, he has a home run, single, walk and a double.
  12. Oops, wrong again. Sanchez homers to tie it up , Stanton singles, Wade pinch runs and then after a wild pitch, Voit knocks in the winning run. You’re becoming the Yankees’ good luck charm. The majority of the time lately when you complain about them, they find a way to come back and win.
  13. Gordo - Here you go: https://www.mlb.com/amp/news/sweet-caroline-red-sox-fenway-park-history.html
  14. Have you been to a Yankees game at Yankee Stadium? If not, then you wouldn’t like it when the grounds crew comes out between innings (the 4th or 5th, I believe) to the sound of the song “YMCA” by the Village People. They do their normal activities cleaning up the dirt in the infield but as soon as the song hits the main chorus, they will stop what they are doing and do the YMCA dance. They then finish cleaning up and march back off the field.
  15. They are not clapping sideways. They are doing the shark bite motion. If you have little ones who watch the Baby Shark video, you would know why they are doing it. My older grandson has watched the video countless times, and even at 20 months old he knew when to clap that way. In case you were unaware, a few years ago, Nationals’ outfielder Geraldo Parra used the song as his walkup music because he had young kids who loved it, and it became the unofficial anthem of the Nationals.
  16. Yup. Another day, another come from behind win, another Sanchez extra basement hit and another triple play. Ho hum. These Yankees are getting so predictable . . .
  17. I was thinking the same thing. Why even follow them if all they are going to provide is misery? You remind me a lot of pre-2004 Red Sox fans, also known as “The fellowship of the miserable”. They were resigned to the fact that no matter how close they got, the Sox would never win the World Series. I’ve known plenty of these fans and some even looked at their misery as a badge of honor.
  18. You’re not a fair weather fan. To be a fair weather fan, you’d have to say something positive about the team now and then. In the two years you’ve been posting, I have yet to see a positive comment. You say it’s because you are “superstitious”. Once again, you wrote off the Yankees after a few innings, only to have them come back again to win.
  19. I never said it worked out well. Not all trades (or free agent signings) do, but unless you have a crystal ball and can see the future, you have no way of being 100% certain of how a deal will turn out. Plus, the Yankees aren’t the only team that makes mistakes. Name me a team that hasn’t made bad trades or signings. The Yankees’ mistakes are just more visible because of who they are.
  20. It’s always easy to make judgements about past decisions. At the time, Gray was one of the top AL pitchers available at the trading deadline. Kaprelian was recovering from Tommy John surgery. Gray was hardly a bum at that time having made the All Star game and finishing 3rd in Cy Young voting in 2015. Kaprelian, meanwhile, had never progressed beyond high-A (Tampa Yankees) and was still rehabbing. Can you honestly say that if you were in Cashman’s position you wouldn’t trade a rehabbing single-A pitcher and two other minor leaguers for an All Star pitcher, with a proven history, entering his prime years?
  21. Why do you do that all the time? The Yankees fall behind and the game is automatically over. Last I checked, they were up 7-4. It appears to me that they are winning . . .
  22. If Ford was that good, he would still be on the major league roster. The Yankees were hoping he could play first base until Voit returned, but he was doing so poorly that Andujar was playing first base at times. He was DFA’d to make room for Zach Britton when he came off the IL. Ford is not going to suddenly turn into a .300 hitter for the Rays, nor do I expect him to be their everyday first baseman. In fact, he’s not going to Tampa. He’s going to their Triple-A team in Durham.
  23. 8 innings, 4 hits, 2 runs for Cole. Maybe not the same high number of strikeouts he had earlier in the season, but I will take an outing like that any day. And give the Yankees credit for coming from behind for the second night in a row.
Very impressive work. The description itself is worthy of 5 stars! I'm sure that many members will appreciate the effort you put into this.
  24. Not the greatest first post after you join the website. At least that guy made an effort to help others. You realize you are responding to an 8 year old message right?? If you look at some of the released uniforms over the last 9 years, I am guessing that they include installation instructions.
