The NY Post is reporting that as part of the Gallo trade, the Rangers will be paying the remainder of his and Joely Rodriguez’ 2021 salaries: https://nypost.com/2021/07/29/the-yankees-joey-gallo-trade-just-got-a-little-bit-better/

It’s a salary dump to free up money to move them further under the luxury tax threshold. Didn’t you and Yankee4Life say that the Yankees should sell off players when you gave up on them? They are just doing what you asked for.
-
I thought you stole 2nd and THEN 3rd and Home. Is this another of those NL vs AL differences? MLB really needs to make things consistent between both leagues . . .

Nationals 18 Marlins 1 Red Sox 13 Blue Jays 4 Mets 15 Reds 11 Tigers 14 Rangers 0 Maybe there was something to that whole Spider Tack business after all . . .

Dennis comes through yet again.

Considering the fact that the creator of this mod was last here in 2017, I would say that it’s pretty unlikely.

As Yogi Berra would say, “It’s deja vu all over again” in the Bronx today. In the top of the 7th (last inning of the first game of today’s doubleheader), the Yankees are up 5-4. Chapman gives up a tying home run to the first batter and the Mets go on to score 6 runs in the inning. ☹️

it appears they are not selling just yet: https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/yankees-trade-for-outfielder-tim-locastro-in-deal-with-diamondbacks/

And in the end, it didn’t matter since the Angels scored 7 runs in the 9th to win the game 11-8. That was brutal. I hope KC didn’t stay at the game until after 1 a.m. to watch the bullpen meltdown. After the late game, they now have to play again today at 1:05 p.m. Let’s see if the Yankees can shake off the loss.

4 walks, a hit batsman and Ohtani can’t make it out of the first inning??!! KC - I’m sure you weren’t expecting that when you got to the ballpark tonight!

Random Thoughts On A Sunday Morning Updated To 7-28

It’s also easier to say “I’ll meet you at the bodega at the corner of Broadway and 59th Street” -
I haven’t been through Kelly Square since it was reconfigured. It was always an adventure going through there when traffic was coming in every direction. Definitely not a place to be a meek driver.

I’ve read good things about those two guys. It would be interesting to see what they can do, however, the Yankees will need to clear space on the 40 man roster for them. It sounds like you’ve been able to see a number of games in person which is nice. I’ll be at the stadium on Aug. 21st when the Twins are in town. My middle daughter gave me two tickets for the game for Father’s Day (section 112, infield box seats). She and I make an annual trip to see a game in NY and missed our game last year. The next day, the whole family is going to see the Railriders when they come to town to play the Worcester Red Sox. Worcester is the next town over from us and I’ve heard good things about the new Triple-A park they built. My wife’s company is a corporate sponsor of the WooSox so she was able to get complimentary tickets for us.

You only need one set of .LOC files. My guess is that The xxJPN.LOC files contain the game text in Japanese. If you want Japanese text, replace the two .LOC files in the game with the xxJPN.LOC files.

You’re right. I’m talking to a wall, so my future comments will be actual game commentary. Maybe I’ll setup a “Yankee Gripes & Complaints” thread. That will reduce the traffic in this thread quite a bit . . .

@Yankee4Life I would welcome Yankee talk. All we ever get is Yankee complaining about the “pathetic, lazy, overpaid SOBs”. Judge isn’t going anywhere. He’s the face of the franchise. You and Ritchie should get over it and move on. @Ritchie I’m a liar?? When did I say I was happy with how the Yankees season has been going. I realize it’s not all unicorns and rainbows for them. Sure I am disappointed and want to see them improve the roster but I’m not going to come on here night after night and whine about them being “pathetic” when they lose and then say nothing when they win. Baseball is supposed to be entertainment, and whether the Yankees win or lose, it doesn’t affect me personally. Why should I let it get to me? Plus, I tend to be a “glass half full” type of person, so I’m always hopeful. Call me naive, but I’d rather look at things that way rather than being a “glass 3/4 empty” person like you seem to be.

I follow them for the same reason you say you do. It is baseball season and they are my team, through good times and bad. I am happy when they win and disappointed when they lose, yet I don't complain or whine about it. As a fan, I don't give up on my team when they fall behind in the first inning or two and I like to think that there's always a chance they will come back. I guess you wouldn't know what that's like.
-
Then why keep following them? Is it just so you have something to post here?
-
You’re at the game? If Sanchez keeps this up, Y4L’s head will explode.
-
Well, Judge is having a better day today. So far in 4 at bats, he has a home run, single, walk and a double.
-
Oops, wrong again. Sanchez homers to tie it up , Stanton singles, Wade pinch runs and then after a wild pitch, Voit knocks in the winning run. You’re becoming the Yankees’ good luck charm. The majority of the time lately when you complain about them, they find a way to come back and win.

Have you been to a Yankees game at Yankee Stadium? If not, then you wouldn’t like it when the grounds crew comes out between innings (the 4th or 5th, I believe) to the sound of the song “YMCA” by the Village People. They do their normal activities cleaning up the dirt in the infield but as soon as the song hits the main chorus, they will stop what they are doing and do the YMCA dance. They then finish cleaning up and march back off the field.
-
They are not clapping sideways. They are doing the shark bite motion. If you have little ones who watch the Baby Shark video, you would know why they are doing it. My older grandson has watched the video countless times, and even at 20 months old he knew when to clap that way. In case you were unaware, a few years ago, Nationals’ outfielder Geraldo Parra used the song as his walkup music because he had young kids who loved it, and it became the unofficial anthem of the Nationals.

Yup. Another day, another come from behind win, another Sanchez extra basement hit and another triple play. Ho hum. These Yankees are getting so predictable . . .
