You don't reinstall another copy with the discs. What it is saying is that you install a clean, unmodded, version of the game once, install any of the official EA patches to it and then NEVER install anything on top of that original version of the game. Whenever you want to install a conversion mod (Total Classics 10, TC1927, MVP15, etc.), you create a new folder and then copy everything (all files and folders) from your "clean" installation folder to your new folder. You then install your conversion mod on top of that new version. For example, I have Windows-XP and have my original copy of the game in the C:\Program Files\EA Sports\MVP Baseball 2005 folder. It doesn't matter where you install the original version, however, if you are running Windows-7, it's best not to install it to the Program Files folder. It's better to install it to a folder like C:\MVP Baseball 2005. When I wanted to install Total Classics 10, I did the following: I created a C:\Total Classics 10 folderI copied everything from C:\Program Files\EA Sports\MVP Baseball 2005 to C:\Total Classics 10I went to the folder where I saved the Total Classics 10 mod and ran its installer. When I was prompted to enter the folder to install the mod, I selected the C:\Total Classics 10 folderWhen the installation was finished, I now had two installations -- the original, "clean", version and Total Classics 10. I repeat steps 1 - 4 above every time I want to install a new conversion mod.

Have you read this thread?: http://www.mvpmods.com/forums/topic/43843-installing-multiple-mods/

What mod(s) are you trying to install? Are you trying to have multiple installations of the game?

He may not have included the pname.dat file from the 1994 mod in this mod.

AlexTony, a founding Total Classics modder, contacted me recently about being unable to run MVP2005 on his new Windows 7 PC that had replaced his old Windows XP PC that had died. He was getting the same error message and when we dug around, we found that DX11 was installed in his version of Windows 7. My old Windows 7 laptop has DX9 on it, so I can run MVP2005 on it with no problem. I found him a download link for DX9 and he tried installing it, but that didn't seem to solve the problem. If I recall, I think that the installation itself might have failed whenever he tried to run it. I'll have to have him look at his refresh rate and screen resolutions.

Please do not bump your posts to get them to the top of the list. That is against site rules. If someone has an answer for you they will post a response. Exactly what do you need help with?

Looks great!

It's all set and should be visible.

Disk 2 is used for installation, however, it is the one you need when you actually play the game.

Welcome to MVPMods! MVP 2005 is not available via digital download. You will have to buy the discs. As you can see, it is a bit pricey for a 10 year old game, but that just shows that people are still playing it due to sites like ours. Once you get the game and install it, you will want to install one of the patches that EA Sports made available for the game. They are available in our Downloads section. EA Sports released 5 patches (each patch contains all the changes in the previous patches). I myself only upgraded to the 3rd patch. The later two were mainly roster upgrades. Once you patch your game, you can download and install one or more of the great mods here. For modern gameplay, you will probably want the MVP14 conversion mod. That will update everything to 2014. There are also some 2015 files available (rosters, faces, etc.). You would need to install these separately until the MVP15 mod is released later this season. If you have questions, feel free to browse the forums and ask questions. We were all new here once.

Those look great

You can also find it periodically on eBay.

The general policy is not to announce release dates. That way if things get delayed or life gets in the way you don't have people getting anxious about it being late.

The site is evolving to be a place that caters to all baseball gamers, not just those who play MVP and Mlb2K. We've had some High Heat and The Show mods for a while and hope to attract people who will upload mods for other games as well. Having a separate section on the front page for each game isn't really feasible based upon this new vision.

It looks like it's PHP code. Something got messed up when the Total Classics section was setup.

No problem. Glad to help.

You can find the Total Installer Thingy here: http://www.mvpmods.com/files/file/6581-total-installer-thingy/

Just finished reading through them. Good job.

Every player in the game has a cyberface ID assigned to him. That's how players can have different faces. Each face ID corresponds to a particular image file embedded in the MVP Baseball 2005\data\models.big file. When you start the game and go through the steps to select your teams, select the uniforms, select the stadium and go to play, the game looks at the rosters on each team, and checks to make sure each player's assigned face ID has an image file in the models.big file. If it can't find the image file in the models.big file, the game crashes. As MVP2005 was modded over the years and new players were added, new face IDs had to be created and new face image files created and added to the models.big file. It's possible that some of the face IDs assigned to players in the MVP15 rosters do not have the corresponding face image file in the models.big file. That might explain your crashes. I have not used MVP14 or the MVP15 rosters too much, so hopefully some of the guys (kyleb, daflyboys, etc.) who are more familiar with these mods can provide more info or correct me if I've misspoken here.

I don't believe that you are doing anything wrong. The mini games may not work in some of the Total Classics mods since some of the players it is expecting have been removed.
-
It sounds like it is a cyberface mismatch, or more likely a missing cyberface. You should probably check the forums to see if there are any cyberface mods you need to install.
-
Did you install MVP14 first or did you just install the MVP15 rosters on top of an "out of the box" version of the game?
