  1. I believe there is an issue with the Rays audio in general. If the Rays is the away team, you will not hear them announced at the beginning of the game. For example, if they are playing the Yankees at Yankee Stadium, you will hear, "Today's game features <slight pause> and the New York Yankees.". If they are the home team and they are playing the Yankees, you will hear, "Today's game features the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays." I'm guessing that the modification to change the Tampa Bay audio from "Devil Rays" to "Rays" wasn't done quite right, since there are instances when you do not hear the team name.

    Mvp12 Issue

Are the roster files in your clean install set as read-only?
  4. Thanks. I was actually able to fix the problem using Trues's pitch meter positioning fix for the 07 mod: http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=3820 It moves the pitch meter from the upper left (where the on-base graphic is) to the middle of the screen.
  5. I copied the datafile.txt I have always used into the MVP12 data folder and was able to get the camera angles and other settings I've always had. I now have an issue with the men on base graphic covering the pitch meter at times, so I'm working on a way to solve that problem.
  6. Are you talking about datafile.big or datafile.txt? If it is datafile.txt, where are you putting it? The .txt file should go in your data folder and not the datadatafile folder.
  7. Does the file you are trying to install have a .TIT extension? If so, try changing the extension to .7z. That may help with the issue you are having.
  8. Actually, there is an easy way to have the same overlay in all stadiums, including those in the classic slots. EA included two sets of overlay files in the datafrontend folder. Each set is made up of two files. The "regular" stadium overlay files are named igonly.big and ingame.big. The classic stadium overlay files are named coopov.big and cooplay.big. The "coop" in the classic overlay files refers to Cooperstown. If you want the same overlay in all stadiums, copy igonly.big to coopov.big and ingame.big to cooplay.big. That's the way we do it in the Total Classics mods and we've never had any problems. As for having modern stadiums in the classic slots, that is also fairly easy to get around. Here's an example of what you would do to if you wanted to put Yankee Stadium in the Shibe Park slot: First, copy Yankee Stadium (yankday.big or yanknite.big) to Shibe Park (shibday.big) in your datastadiums folder. Next, you need to update the camera file associated with Shibe Park: Open the datadatafiledatafile.big file with EAGraph Extract the Yankee Stadium camera file yankday.txt or yanknite.txt (they are both the same) Rename the camera file to shibday.txt (which is the name of the Shibe Park camera file) You now have two options: Either reimport the "new" shibday.txt file back into the datafile.big file or simply copy the shibday.txt file to your data folder. The game overrides any files in the datafile.big file if it finds similarly named files in the data folder. Copying to the data folder is an easy way to test new datafiles quickly. If you don't like the way it looks, simply remove the file from the data folder and you will revert back to the default behavior in the datafile.big file. If you wanted to be thorough, you would also need to replace the Shibe Park stadium select screen with the Yankee Stadium stadium select screen by editing the datafrontendstadiums.big file. For this example we won't do that, so I won't go into the steps involved. Suffice it to say, that this is trivial work as well.
  9. I spend so much time developing and testing mods on my laptop with onboard graphics that I forget how good the game looks on a PC with a real graphics card. I installed MVP12 on the PC I use to play, fired up the game and was amazed at how great it looks.
  10. Since the MVP12 mod has been released, the question of whether a 2012 Total Mod can be made has been answered. I am therefore closing this thread. To continue discussing the mod, please create a new thread.
  11. File Name: Total Classics 1962 File Submitter: stecropper File Submitted: 10 Jul 2012 File Category: Total Conversion Mods Version: 1.0 After much struggle with the city fathers of Los Angeles, Walter O'Malley finally opened his baseball emporium, Dodger Stadium, for the start of the 1962 season.  O'Malley's highly regarded team drew a record 2,755,184 fans into the park, while pacing the National League all summer behind the star performances of Maury Wills, Tommy Davis and Don Drysdale.  Of the trio, Wills proved the most exciting while en route to the league's MVP Award by committing the grandest theft act ever witnessed on major league turf --- 104 steals --- to break the 1915 mark of the legendary Ty Cobb.  Davis, by hitting .346 and knocking in 153 runs, captured two of the major batting categories while Drysdale won the coveted Cy Young Award on the strength of his 25 victories. But all the individual glory could not make up for an unfortunate incident which took place on July 17, when ace southpaw Sandy Koufax was lost for the season with a circulatory ailment in his fingers.  In the final 13 contests, the Dodgers could only win three, while the San Francisco Giants won seven to tie Los Angeles on the final day of the season.  The Giants stayed in contention all year with an attack centered on home run leader Willie Mays, and the slugging of Orlando Cepeda and Felipe Alou.  Jack Sanford won 16 games in a row ending up with 24 victories for the season combined with Billy O'Dell's 19, Juan Marichal's 18 and Billy Pierce's 16 gave the Giants a very formidable staff that would lead them over the Dodgers in the Best of 3 playoff series. In the American League, the fanfare took place before the final curtain.  Cleveland, leading until the All-Star break, lost 19 of their next 24 games to drop into second division.  While the Indians were faltering, the Los Angeles Angels and Minnesota Twins, the league's newest entries, were charging into contention.  Although the joint efforts were commendable, both fell short.  The Twins finished second on the strength of a strong batting attack, and the Angels third on the arms of their two colorful rookies, Dean Chance and Bo Belinsky.  As usual, the Yankees were on top when the season closed even in an off year for the Bronx Bombers. ------------------------------------------- We hope this recreation of the 1962 Season brings enjoyment to both the seasoned veterans as well as the much younger Total Classics enthusiast that would like to trip back to see, hear & feel what it was all like in 1962. This project is a mere continuation of Total Classics.  Much credit needs to be extended to the "Entire" Total Classics Team for creating such an interest in Oldtime Classic Baseball.  Much "Thanks" & "Appreciation" to the so many MVPModders that have contributed so much to the overall Total Classics experience and continue to do so today.  This includes those Cyberface modders; Stadium modders; Uniform modders; Roster modders; Audio modders; Bats Balls & ALL !!!  To Everyone "Thanks So Much for the Joy you have brought to so Many of Us!" ------------------------------------------- *** TIDBITS *** A ) This mod was built for the complete replay of the 1962 Major League Baseball Season. Thus, the use of Dynasty Mode for a single season is recommended. Although other Major League teams are represented in this mod they have not been fully tested but likely are OK to use in Exhibition Play. B ) It is "HIGHLY RECOMMENDED" that you -TURN OFF - Trades, Call Ups & Injuries to maintain the opening day 25 man rosters intact throughout the season. C ) It is recommended that you install TC62 over a clean install of MVP Baseball 2005 with at least up to Patch #2. D ) It will be necessary for you to install a Profile that UnLocks all Classic Uniforms.  Robert Glass's unlock profile is provided in the "Extras" directory. E) In the directory where you install TC1962 you will find a subdirectory named Extras.  This directory includes: 1) The most up todate MVPEdit .mbe file for TC62. 2) A file named Sliders.doc which are the slider setting used to validate the realism & accuracy of this mod during CPU vs CPU style games. You may choose to try these out. 3) A file named Glass_Profile.sav which is a profile to unlock everything. This file should be placed in your My Documents MVP Baseball 2005directory if you care to use it. 4) A copy of the TC62 Readme file. -------------------------------------------   *** VERSION HISTORY ***   v1.0   Initial release Click here to download this file
  12. Good to "see" you Tony. Long time, no talk.....
  13. I just checked and found out I was mistaken. The 7562 audio ID is the new one that was created for Total Classics. The original Mantle ID (i.e. the one that EA Sports created for MVP2005) is 2653, and that is the audio that Joel created in the Legends from the Booth mod. Here's what you can do to fix the problem in TC1951 and TC1956: 1. Download the two .bmp files below. These are the Mantle's portraits for TC1951 and TC1956. 2. Open each roster in MVPEdit. 3. For each roster, go to Tools->Options, select the proper Data Directory and make sure that "Show Player Portrait" is enabled. 3. Find Mantle in the rosters (both on the Yankees and possibly on the All-Star team) and change his portrait ID to 2653. When you do this, his portrait will no longer appear. 4. Click on the portrait window (where his portrait should show up) and in the popup that appears, click on "New Picture". 5. Select the proper portrait (Mantle_1951.bmp for TC1951 and Mantle_1956 for TC1956) and click "Open" 6. When the portrait appears in the popup window, click OK and it will then appear in the MVPEdit window. 7. Export your rosters. 8. Startup the game and you will now hear audio for Mantle. Let me know if you have any questions or problems with this. You can follow these same steps for TC1961 and TC1967, but you would have to export his portrait from their portrait.big files, and then extract the .bmp files from the portrait .fsh files using nfshtool. As always, backup your roster files (in the data\database folder) and your portraits.big file (in the data\frontend folder) before performing these steps. Mantle_1951.bmp Mantle_1956.bmp
  14. Hi Dennis, I believe that I have experienced the same issue when using the Legends from the Booth audio. The issue occurs becasue Joel used Mantle's default Portrait / Audio ID. I think that ID is 7625 or 7526, which tells you I've been modding this stuff WAY too long. Most of the TC mods use a different audio ID for Mantle. In TC10, some players are on more than one team, so in order to allow a player to have different portraits for each team, we created multiple Portrait / Audio IDs for these players. Mickey Mantle was a special case. Early on (probably during TC2 development), I found that there is something special about his ID. if you delete it by mistake, the game will crash. To be safe, we created a separate Portrait / Audio ID for him and that is the one that is used in TC51 - TC67. The TC10 audio has separate audios for each ID. The Legends from the Booth mods have a single audio for each player. Tht's why you hear Kuiper/Krukow announce Mantle but you do not hear the Mel Allen, Vin Scully or Ernie Harwell announce him. I believe that I fixed this issue in TC51 and TC56 at home by editing the rosters with MVPEdit and changing his ID to the default one. I then had to extract his portrait (before changing the ID) and then reinstall it with MVPEdit after changing the ID. Which version of TC51 and TC56 are you using? I can't remember if I fixed the Mantle audio issue in the latest versions I released last summer.
  15. Why did you make 2 posts for the same request?
  16. The game's roster files are .dat files and they reside in the datadatabase folder. The MBE file are ONLY used by MVPEdit. The game doesn't know anything about these files. When you make changes in MVPEdit and export the rosters, they are exported as .dat files to your datadatabase folder, assuming that you have the MVP Baseball Data Directory set correctly in the MVPEdit Tools->Options screen. When you import .dat files, the File Open window that appears has the data folder highlighted. There are no .dat files in that folder, so nothing will happen if you just click OK. Click on the database folder and THEN click on the OK button and your rosters will be imported.
  17. I don't think you understand what I was trying to say. When you try to open an MBE file with MVPEdit, it looks for the MBE file in the folder where MVPEdit is installed. The portraits and faces are going to be wherever the game is installed, unless you have them saved someplace else. If they are someplace else, they have to be in a folder structure similar to the game structure (e.g. data folder with multiple subfolders - frontend, etc.). You specify the game's data folder in the Tools->Options menu as shown below: Pull up this menu on both your XP machine and your Windows 7 PC and see what's different.
  18. See this post: http://www.mvpmods.c...86 I'm guessing that the MVPEdit options on your XP machine are different than on your Windows 7 machine.
  19. In the MVPEdit Options (accessible from the main menubar), you have to select where your data folder is. MVPEdit will then look in the datamodels.big file for faces and datafrontendportrait.big file for portraits. If this is set incorrectly, you won't see faces or portraits.
  20. If you are referring to my post, then you obviously don't understand sarcasm. The last thing I like (and most other modders I know feel the same) is for someone to tell me what to make. I mod what I want, when I want. I don't wait around for others to give me ideas.
  21. Like most modders, I sit around waiting for others to tell me what to make next. It saves me from having to be creative and working on mods that interest me. Y4L - Maybe it's time to bring your "Can I serve you" picture out of retirement? I think you know which one I'm talking about.... ;)
  22. Change the file extension of the uniform pack from ".TIT" to ".7z" and then try installing it. That has solved the "corrupt file" issue for a number of people, including me. I had that issue when trying to install the MVP2008 mod.
  23. I just did it in Windows Explorer. I'm thinking that you have Windows Explorer setup so that it does not show file extensions. When it is setup like that, the file will retain the original file extension, no matter what you change it to.
  24. This is very easy to do. Take the .bmp file you want to use, simply rename it to 00000000.256, and place it in the main game folder (Program FilesEA SportsMVP Baseball 2005). When the game starts up, the image will be displayed. I was amazed when I found out how easy it was to do this.
  25. You may not like it, but that's the policy we have to work with here. The site owner initially put this in place to protect himself and the website. If EA Sports saw that we were supporting software piracy for one of their games, they'd have the right to shut down this site. Unlike software piracy, nothing that we do here (i.e. creating mods) takes money out of EA Sports' pockets. You can say that it's a 7 year old game and is not worth paying more than $20 for it and I would agree with you. It's all about supply and demand. If this game wasn't still popular, based upon sites like this one, people wouldn't be able to get away with charging so much for it. As an analogy, in 1965, the Ford Mustang had a suggested retail price of $2368 (http://en.wikipedia....ki/Ford_Mustang). Now look here: http://mustangclassi...id=10&s_res=AND Is it fair for people to charge this much for a 47 year old car? You may not like the fact that MVP2005 is selling for so much, but there is nothing you (or anyone else) can do about it. As for us not providing you with support, rules are rules. If you don't like it, you are welcome to try getting help at other MVP2005 websites (if you can find any). And by the way, if you can tell me where you saw the game for $25, let me know. That's a steal! I paid $20 for the game in 2005 and would gladly pay $25 for a third copy (as a backup to my current backup copy).
