  1. I don't think you understand what I was trying to say. When you try to open an MBE file with MVPEdit, it looks for the MBE file in the folder where MVPEdit is installed. The portraits and faces are going to be wherever the game is installed, unless you have them saved someplace else. If they are someplace else, they have to be in a folder structure similar to the game structure (e.g. data folder with multiple subfolders - frontend, etc.). You specify the game's data folder in the Tools->Options menu as shown below: Pull up this menu on both your XP machine and your Windows 7 PC and see what's different.
  2. See this post: http://www.mvpmods.c...86 I'm guessing that the MVPEdit options on your XP machine are different than on your Windows 7 machine.
  3. In the MVPEdit Options (accessible from the main menubar), you have to select where your data folder is. MVPEdit will then look in the datamodels.big file for faces and datafrontendportrait.big file for portraits. If this is set incorrectly, you won't see faces or portraits.
  4. If you are referring to my post, then you obviously don't understand sarcasm. The last thing I like (and most other modders I know feel the same) is for someone to tell me what to make. I mod what I want, when I want. I don't wait around for others to give me ideas.
  5. Like most modders, I sit around waiting for others to tell me what to make next. It saves me from having to be creative and working on mods that interest me. Y4L - Maybe it's time to bring your "Can I serve you" picture out of retirement? I think you know which one I'm talking about.... ;)
  6. Change the file extension of the uniform pack from ".TIT" to ".7z" and then try installing it. That has solved the "corrupt file" issue for a number of people, including me. I had that issue when trying to install the MVP2008 mod.
  7. I just did it in Windows Explorer. I'm thinking that you have Windows Explorer setup so that it does not show file extensions. When it is setup like that, the file will retain the original file extension, no matter what you change it to.
  8. This is very easy to do. Take the .bmp file you want to use, simply rename it to 00000000.256, and place it in the main game folder (Program FilesEA SportsMVP Baseball 2005). When the game starts up, the image will be displayed. I was amazed when I found out how easy it was to do this.
  9. You may not like it, but that's the policy we have to work with here. The site owner initially put this in place to protect himself and the website. If EA Sports saw that we were supporting software piracy for one of their games, they'd have the right to shut down this site. Unlike software piracy, nothing that we do here (i.e. creating mods) takes money out of EA Sports' pockets. You can say that it's a 7 year old game and is not worth paying more than $20 for it and I would agree with you. It's all about supply and demand. If this game wasn't still popular, based upon sites like this one, people wouldn't be able to get away with charging so much for it. As an analogy, in 1965, the Ford Mustang had a suggested retail price of $2368 (http://en.wikipedia....ki/Ford_Mustang). Now look here: http://mustangclassi...id=10&s_res=AND Is it fair for people to charge this much for a 47 year old car? You may not like the fact that MVP2005 is selling for so much, but there is nothing you (or anyone else) can do about it. As for us not providing you with support, rules are rules. If you don't like it, you are welcome to try getting help at other MVP2005 websites (if you can find any). And by the way, if you can tell me where you saw the game for $25, let me know. That's a steal! I paid $20 for the game in 2005 and would gladly pay $25 for a third copy (as a backup to my current backup copy).
  10. IT SURE DOES!! One of the most important rules on this website is that we do not condone software piracy and do not provide support to those who have obtained the game illegally. You can read this in the forum rules: http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules If you buy the game legally, we'll be glad to help. Otherwise, please do not ask any more questions. Doing so will result in you being banned from this website.
  11. Did you install any mods? If so, which ones? Did you install the game from discs or did you download it?
  12. I can't remember it off the top of my head, but I know that there is a Facebook setting to block those requests and also the updates that get sent out ("So and so has unlocked the Giant Turnip in Farmville!") because I blocked it on my account. If you do a Google search, you can find out how to do it (that's what I did).
  13. I just found this '73 Pirates away uniform in the MVP2004 uniform downloads section: http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=98 I remembered that MVP2004 uniforms can be installed in MVP2005. Other than the Roberto Clemente patch on the sleeve, the '71 and '73 uniforms look the same, at least from what I could see on the Baseball Hall of Fame "Dressed to the Nines" site: http://exhibits.baseballhalloffame.org/dressed_to_the_nines/uniforms.asp?league=NL&city=Pittsburgh&lowYear=1971&highYear=1973&sort=year&increment=9&=Display+uniforms
  14. Did you search the Downloads section? The Search function is your friend. Try using it! http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=3232 It doesn't look like 2012 Pirates uniforms have been created yet, but since 2012 uniforms for other teams are being created, it's just a matter of time.....
  15. You need to provide some more information before anyone will be able to help. For example, what are your computer specs (CPU speed, amount of RAM, graphics card etc.). Without knowing this information, it will be hard for anyone to come up with any ideas.
  16. That's exactly how I found out about the minimum height in the game! When I created the TC1946 mod, I wanted to put Gaedel on the Browns roster, but found that he could be no shorter than 5'3", so I gave up on that idea. :(
  17. Just so you are aware, I believe that the smallest height value you can assign to a player is 5 feet 3 inches, so all of your players will still look like adults.
  18. Search the forums. There have been plenty of discussions on this over the years. Pitching with the keyboard, especially without a num pad is going to be very difficult. Your best option is to get a controller (Xbox 360, Logitech, Saitek, etc.).
  19. Yes he was, and because of that, he's earned himself a 30-day vacation from this site. Let's see if he's learned his lesson once he's allowed back on.
  20. Yes, but be aware, that you do not use MVPEdit to export portraits. You need a tool like EAGraph or BigGUI. Also, you need to check the cyberface assigned to the player. Cyberfaces are in the datamodels.big file. If the player uses a cyberface not currently in the TC78 models.big file, you will need to export it from the 05 file and import it into the TC78 file.
  21. Portraits are stored in a separate file (datafrontendportrait.dat). Just because you imported the player into the roster files, doesn't mean that you imported his portrait or cyberface. You would have to do that separately.
  22. kjuggs - that overlay looks very nice. And this is coming from a Yankees fan! :)
  23. Please do not bump your thread to move them to the top. It is against forum rules.
  24. Yup, end of discussion.....
