Over here, new user posts are not visible to the general public for a day or two (I can't remember exactly how long Trues set it up for). This was implemented about a month ago and has really helped because when I review the forums, I can delete the spam posts before non-Admins see them.

Homer - It's no different over here. I'm spending a few hours in total each day banning spam accounts, cleaning spam messages from the forums, etc. I know that my modding time is being seriously impacted by all this. I try to log on 5 or 6 times a day to keep on top of this issue. If I go one to two days without logging on, it takes quite a while to catch up. I can't imagine what it will be like if I go on vacation for a week or more! I'm going to have to train my trusted lieutenants Sean O and RaptorQuiz on what I do because I'll probably be asking them to help out if I'm away for an extended period of time.

We've had 4 feet of snow in Central Massachusetts this month according to our local newspaper. We start a new month this week, and what can we look forward to? More of the same! 3-5 inches of snow on Tuesday followed by 6-10 inches of snow on Wednesday!! This is getting ridiculous. It's bad enough when it takes 2 hours to clear the driveway and then another hour when the town snowplow comes by just as you finish and fills the end of your driveway with hard packed snow. What's worse is having to keep raking the snow off the roof to prevent ice dams and water from leaking into the house. Even with all my efforts, I've had two instances over the last two days with water leaking in and I had to get back up on the ladder to clear snow and break 3-inch ice with a hammer and chisel (2-3 hours each time). In the 16 years we've lived in this house, I've never had to do that before. Add to that the fact that the snow is piled so high at the end of the street that you can't see oncoming traffic, so you have to hope no one is coming when you pull out. Global warming?? Not around here..... -
Are you trying to install these uniforms in MVP2005? If so, then it won't work because the uniforms in .iff format are for MLB2K10 and not MVP2005.

Dennis - This is what I have been meaning to send you along with my notes. It's the tool I use all the time for batter walkup music. I apologize for taking so long and I WILL provide more to you soon. Here is a link to the NHL07ASFStudio download here at MVPMods: http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=3834 I've also attached a Word document that contains a post that was on MVPMods a few years ago (although I can't find it anymore) along with some notes I added at the end. Hopefully this is enough to get you going. I will send along some more comments when I get a chance. How to create your own batter walkup music.doc
-
I wasn't able to get online yesterday (more snow removal and busy with work I brought home). I've got notes at home on editing walkup music. Let me look through them and I'll see if I can help you. I've gotten to be pretty good at changing walkup music so I'm sure I can help you out.

It isn't for fans of Total Classics. Work is still going strong on those mods....

Mark - Thanks for the kind words. It's good to see you again and I hope you continue to visit regularly. -
I hear you, but in the majority of the cases, the e-mail addresses are almost identical on the two (or more accounts). The only difference is that one is something like xxxx@hotmail.com and the other is xxxx@gmail.com. In many of the other cases, the e-mail address is the exact same.
-
That may be, but how does that explain someone creating 3 duplicate accounts in a 45 minute period? I've heard of short term memory loss, but that's ridiculous!
-
Since Friday, there have been 5 more suspensions from members creating new duplicate accounts. I also found two other members who had created multiple accounts in the past. In the latter two cases, I simply deleted the duplicate accounts with no suspensions. If these guys create new duplicate accounts, however, they will be subject to suspension. I still don't understand why people are creating duplicate accounts when there is no longer a download limit. :unknw:
-
Even with this program in place, and the warnings, we've had two suspensions since yesterday with new members creating duplicate accounts.....
-
As you should all be aware, the MVPMods Forum Rules state the following regarding duplicate accounts: There is no reason for having duplicate accounts here. In the past, some created duplicate accounts to get around the 2 downloads per day limit if you joined and did not purchase a subscription. Now that subscriptions are a thing of the past and unlimited downloads are available to all members, even that excuse no longer makes sense. In the spirit of our new beginning here at MVPMods and as my own personal show of holiday spirit, I am implementing a "Duplicate Account Amnesty Program" that will run until the end of this month. If you have duplicate accounts and we have not caught you yet (and the key word here is YET), I will waive the 180 day suspension if you send me a PM with the account(s) that you want deleted. I'll delete the extra accounts with no questions asked and your access to MVPMods will continue uninterrupted. Consider it my own "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. Note that this program only runs through the end of this month, so if you are caught with duplicate accounts after Dec. 31st (and we have our "ways" of finding these accounts), the full 180 day suspension will be imposed, with no chance to appeal. Also, now that I have made this program known, anyone who creates a duplicate account starting today, forfeits their right to amnesty and will get the full 180 day suspension. Finally, be aware that this program does not apply to those who have been banned but have found a way to sneak back on with new accounts. Those who fall in that category should just enjoy their illegal access to the site until we track you down (and we WILL track you down!).

For as long as I can remember (going back to the mid-70's) Dallas and Detroit have always played on Thanksgiving. They must have made some non-revocable agreement with the NFL years ago. Both teams must have had some compromising pictures of Commissioner Pete Rozelle way back when..... :D -
Basically, to remove teams from the major leagues, you edit the team.dat file and assign them to one of the minor leagues. The Total Classics single season mods only update the major league teams. We recommend that if you play in dynasty mode, you turn off things like injuries, trades, suspensions, etc. so that your major league rosters never change.
-
Sal asked me about this yesterday. I turned off pretty much every option before starting a test dynasty (including all the ones you mentioned), however, after simming an entire season and moving to the off-season, these things seemed to have no effect on the rosters getting changed. I didn't try editing player contracts at all, but as you pointed out, this will only be a temporary solution and there is no way to prevent players from retiring or signing with other teams when they are free agents.

Baltimore -- the unanimous preseason pick in the American League East -- won 90 games, but Boston surprised everyone by finishing 4½ games in front of the Orioles. Rookies Fred Lynn and Jim Rice sparked the Sox, as Lynn became the first player to win both the MVP and Rookie of the Year Awards in the same season. The Sox also featured established hitters like Carl Yastrzemski and Carlton Fisk, as well as pitchers Rick Wise, Luis Tiant, and Bill Lee. Cincinnati's Big Red Machine ran away with the National League West, boasting an All-Star lineup that included league MVP Joe Morgan, Johnny Bench, Pete Rose, Tony Perez, Ken Griffey, Dave Concepcion, and George Foster. The Reds and the Sox swept their respective League Championship Series, setting the stage for one of the most dramatic World Series in baseball history. Cincinnati crawled out to a three-games-to-two lead, which included three one-run games. But the real fun didn't start until the sixth game in Boston. The two teams battled into the 12th inning of game six, when Fisk, the Sox leadoff hitter, blasted a long fly ball to left. The ball had home run distance and stayed fair, giving Fisk a home run and Boston a 7-6 come-from-behind victory. Game seven was almost as intense. Boston jumped to a 3-0 lead, the Reds tied it in the seventh, and Morgan won it in the ninth with a run-scoring single. Many feel the 1975 Series helped spark baseball's popularity, which soared in the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s. ------------------------------------------- the Total Classics 1975 mod brings you the sights and sounds of the 1975 baseball season. We have a strict "no cell phones at the dinner table" rule. In fact, when we're eating, we don't even answer the "regular" phone. We let the answering machine take the call and unless it's someone calling an about an emergency, nobody gets up to get the phone. -

It always leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but I wanted Boston to win last night (and again tonight). With both the Yankees and Tampa winning, it doesn't allow NY to put any distance between themselves and the Rays. -

Two notable personal milestones were achieved during the 1974 season. The first came on April 8, when Hank Aaron of the Atlanta Braves blasted his 715th career home run, breaking the all-time career home run mark of 714 set by Babe Ruth. Aaron would finish his career with 755 home runs, a record that would stand until Barry Bonds broke it in 2007. The second milestone came on September 10, when the St. Louis Cardinals' Lou Brock stole his 105th base off pitcher Dick Ruthven and catcher Bob Boone of the Philadelphia Phillies. This broke the single-season stolen base record of 104, set by Maury Wills in 1962. Brock would go on to steal 118 bases, a record that would stand until 1982, when Rickey Henderson swiped 130. The 1974 World Series matched the two-time defending champion Oakland Athletics against the Los Angeles Dodgers with the A’s winning the Series in five games. Rollie Fingers figured in all four Oakland victories, posting a win and three saves, and was honored as the Series MVP. Oakland became the first team to win three consecutive Series since the New York Yankees won five in a row between 1949 and 1953; the win secured the A's status as one of the truly dominant teams of the 1970s. ------------------------------------------- The Total Classics 1974 mod brings you the sights and sounds of the 1974 baseball season. The only thing I can think of here is that one or more cyberfaces are missing from your models.big file. Have you tried this multiple times with different teams or always with the same team? Have you checked the lineups and pitching rotations for the teams you are using to make sure that they are correct? When you checked the roster in MVPEdit, did you turn on faces and then go to the Appearance tab and scroll through one player at a time looking to see if the face exists? If you have a face number other than 900 - 915 that displays "No picture found", that will be your problem.
