  1. Thank you very much and welcome to MVPMods! Every little bit helps and it is greatly appreciated.

The 1946 World Series was the first one played with rosters not depleted by the War since 1941. It featured the St. Louis Cardinals, taking part in their fourth World Series in five years, against the Boston Red Sox, who were making their first World Series appearance since Babe Ruth was a young left-handed pitcher in 1918. The Series would turn out to be a classic, seven-game, see-saw affair, with one play in particular, Enos Slaughter's "Mad Dash." In the eighth inning of Game 7, with the score 3–3, the Cardinals' Enos Slaughter opened the inning with a single but two batters failed to advance him. With two outs, Harry Walker walloped a hit over Johnny Pesky's head into left-center field. As Leon Culberson chased it down, Slaughter started his dash. Pesky caught Culberson's throw, turned and perhaps surprised to see Slaughter headed for the plate, hesitated just a split second before throwing home. Roy Partee had to take a few steps up the third base line to catch Pesky's toss, but Slaughter was safe without a play at the plate and Walker was credited with an RBI double. The Cardinals won the game and the Series in seven games, giving them their sixth championship. The Red Sox, meanwhile, saw their title drought extended and they had to wait until 1967 for another World Series appearance, ------------------------------------------- The Total Classics 1946 mod brings you the sights and sounds of the 1946 baseball season. Besides rosters, portraits, uniforms and audios, the mod provides themed menu and loading screens, stadium select screens with actual stadium photos, 1940's jukebox music, 1940's batter walkup music, an accurate 1946 schedule and correct 1940's era stadiums for every team. 3. Total Classics 10 and the classic single season mods (TC1951, TC1956, TC1969, TC1978, etc.) use the same audio numbering system and the same audio files, so this mod should work for all of them! :yahoo:
  4. Sean - At some point, you need to update the list, since Braves Field is available in TC1951.
  5. They are just limited to 2 downloads per day rather than unlimited downloads which is what the subscription gets you.
  6. It would be written if he visited the site, but since we all know that doesn't happen (right? ), why bother?
  7. I'm sure you have good points here. Unfortunately, I can't make sense of your English. Thanks for trying, however.
  8. It will never happen -- Too many bridges have been burned. As for the demise of MVPMods, to quote Mark Twain, "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.....
  9. I asked Trues earlier whether reducing the number of downloadable files would help. After all, how many people need a 2005, 2006, 2007 AND 2008 version of Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park, etc. Do we really need 2005, 2006, 2007 AND 2008 versions of Blue Jay uniforms? Etc., etc., etc. You could really free up a lot of storage space by doing some housecleaning. Unfortunately, storage space isn't the real issue. It's more about CPU usage, bandwidth, etc.
  10. You're comparing apples and oranges here. Over at EAMods, a couple of modders were charging a per download fee for individual mods (which they have every right to do). At this site, you are paying a flat price for unlimited downloads of all mods (present and future).
  11. I'm not sure that this would be work. For example, is it fair that someone who downloads one Total Classics mod (average size about 400 Mb), pays more than someone who downloads 15 stadiums (size 10 Mb) or 50 individual uniforms (size 3 Mb each)? The guy who downloads one large mod would pay more that the guy who downloads 50 smaller mods. If this then discourages people from downloading the larger mods (like the TC single season mods), it might discourage those modders (like me) from creating those mods. And what happens if your download of a large mod dies 3/4 of the way through (loss of connection, etc.). Do you then have to pay to download it again? How many people will be contacting Trues for refunds when they run into problems? This would be a bookkeeping nighmare for him. To me, the simple "one fee for unlimited downloads" is the easiest solution here. You pay once and you are set for life. No muss, no fuss.......
  12. That would work, but what if the file hosting service went out of business? Didn't you run into that problem earlier this year with some of your mods on EAMods? I can't remember the exact name of the file hosting service (FileFront?), but I do recall it happening. Having to then scramble and move 3900 files in a hurry wouldn't be an easy task. $10 is a bargain for what is being offered...

    Site Issues

I just noticed that the Total Classics logo in the upper right corner of the website just returns you to the main MVPMods page. Should it point to the Total Classics page that used to be available?

    1998 Mlb Mod

If you are seeing those crashes when you are trying to start a game, it sounds like a cyberface issue, namely that your roster reference a cyberface that is not in your models.big file.
  15. I can confirm that this IS still being worked on, but as Y4L said, it is a very large project so it will still be a while before this is ready to be released.
  16. Another thing to remember is that Spencer was not a regular starter in 1998 (i.e. he came off the bench or started a game here or there). He wouldn't be in the regular batting order, so if you were to sim a season, it's not like he would win the triple crown or run away with the MVP award that season. The issue you are looking at is one that we do have to deal with when creating mods for much older seasons (before the DH came into effect) or when working with NL teams. Because pitchers can get a small number of at bats (especially relievers), if they come to bat 20 times and get 10 hits, they are hitting .500 so MVPEdit gives them contact ratings of 100. This is where stecropper's global and individual tweaks come into play because they allow us to address this issue.
  17. Actually, Spencer wasn't hot until August that year. See below: http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1998/Ispens0010011998.htm He only played 27 games that season and prior to the beginning of August, he only played in 6 games.
  18. That would be great. I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with and it's nice to have another single season modder on the site! :)
  19. When will you make the uniform for MLB 2K9?
  20. We can ask him silly and foolish questions over and over like he does to us.
  21. When will you do this for MLB 2K9?
  22. I can and I'll bet others can as well.
  23. Here's a little clue for you -- I mod what I WANT TO MOD! I really don't care what YOU want. What gives YOU the right to tell me what I should be modding???? I mod because I like to do it not because I'm obligated to others, least of all to you. All I've seen in your posts is whines about "When will this mod be done?" and "When will that mod be created for MVP?" If you want something, get off your lazy butt and try to learn how to do something. No one comes into this knowing how to create mods. It takes time and effort to find information and practice to create something. If you showed even a hint of trying to do something on your own by asking questions (and not generic ones like "How do I mod a stadium", when there is 4 years worth of information in these forums), I'd cut you a little slack, but all I keep hearing from you is an attitude like you expect others jump when you snap your fingers. I usually a pretty calm guy and I don't let things get to me, but this time you've gone too far.....
  24. I don't buy it. There is no way that EVERYONE will be satisfied with that. Look at how many requests there are for information regarding the release of MVP2009 or how many requests there are for modders to create New Yankee Stadium. If we don't say anything then nobody knows that something is coming and they can't get antsy. In other words, what you don't know, won't hurt you.....
  25. Actually Sean, it's an earlier year than you and I discussed last month, but let's just say that it will be something that you will be interested in since it's a decade we haven't done before and your boys from Boston had a very good regular season that year. That's the last I'll say about the project...... :)
