September Call-Up

September Call-Up (2/10)

  1. Kg, I don't know if you were planning on doing a DL save with minor leaguers, but Baseball America has a post with each team's minor league disabled lists. It doesn't list how long they're out for, but there's other information there that might be some use to you. http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/prospects/?p=144
  2. Kg, if you want them, here's the Opening Day lineups for the Cubs minor league affiliates: [iOWA CUBS VS RHP] 1 Angel Pagan LF 2 Eric Patterson 2B 3 Felix Pie CF 4 Micah Hoffpauir 1B 5 Koyie Hill C 6 Buck Coats RF 7 Scott Moore 3B 8 Mike Fontenot SS 9 JR Mathes P [TENNESSE SMOKIES VS LHP] 1 Chris Walker CF 2 Jemel Spearman RF 3 Jake Fox LF 4 Matt Craig 3B 5 Brian Dopirak 1B 6 Chris Robinson C 7 Gary Cates 2B 8 Joe Simokaitis SS 9 Sean Gallagher P [DAYTONA VS LHP] 1 Chris Amador RF 2 Nate Spears 2B 3 Tyler Colvin CF 4 Ryan Norwood 1B 5 Robinson Chirinos 3B 6 Jesus Valdez LF 7 Alberto Garcia DH 8 Jake Muyco C 9 Matt Matulia SS * Mitch Atkins P Out of all those listed, Alberto Garcia and Matt Matulia are not in 3.0
  3. Just took a quick look at the rosters right now, but they seem great. One small note, you have Cubs minor league P Greg Reinhard's named spelled wrong. There's no "t" at the end. Can't wait for this .sav with players already on the DL.
  4. awesome. :)
  5. kg two more Cubs notes: Apparently sometime during the spring, the Cubs signed OF Josh Kroeger, formerly of the Phillies and Diamondbacks. He's a free agent in your rosters. He'll probably be at AA-Tennessee. Also, Micah Hoffpauir started at LF in the Cubs' minor league spring training game today. His second position right now is listed as DH.
  6. According to baseballamerica.com, the Cubs released some more minor leaguers: Released RHP Jason Anderson Released RHP Jonathan Hunton Released C Corey Myers
  7. Thanks for the info on De Aza, kg. On the Cubs front, Mark Prior was sent down to Triple-A, along with OF Angel Pagan and RP Rocky Cherry. With 28 players left on the roster, Kerry Wood, Buck Coats, and Juan Mateo are expected to start the season on the DL, leaving the final 25: C Michael Barrett, Henry Blanco 1B Derrek Lee, Daryle Ward 2B Mark DeRosa, Ryan Theriot SS Cesar Izturis, Ronny Cedeno 3B Aramis Ramirez LF Matt Murton, Cliff Floyd CF Alfonso Soriano RF Jacque Jones SP Carlos Zambrano SP Ted Lilly SP Jason Marquis SP Rich Hill SP Wade Miller RP Angel Guzman RP Neal Cotts RP Michael Wuertz RP Will Ohman RP Scott Eyre RP Bobby Howry CP Ryan Dempster
  8. Kg judging by your avatar you may already know this, but the Marlins announced their starting CF will be someone named Alejandro De Aza. I have no idea who that is or if he's even in the rosters. Also the Cubs released former 1st round draft pick Bobby Brownlie.
  9. I don't want to shock anybody, but it appears Kerry Wood will start the season on the DL after feeling shoulder "discomfort" after yesterday's appearance.
  10. Royals acquire SS Tony Pena Jr from the Braves for P Erik Cordier. Also according to Rotoworld, Angel Berroa was sent down to AAA and Pena will be the starter.
  11. Cubs notes: Released RHP Eli Diaz Released RHP Alfredo Francisco Released LHP Nate Bland Released C Kevin Ciarrachi Released 1B Jason Hart Released 1B Luther Murphy Released SS Derek Wathan Released OF Tony Miller Released OF Nathan Price Off the top of my head, I think only Bland, Hart, Wathan, Miller, and Price were in the rosters.
  12. Kg, just a little Cubs update, it seems like Lou Piniella has taken a liking to Matt Murton over Cliff Floyd. Piniella also said that he'd bat Murton second or eighth. So far in ST he's batted second most of the time so I'd change the lineup to Soriano, Murton, Lee, Ramirez, Jones, Barrett, DeRosa, Izturis. It may be too early, but I don't think there will be a platoon in left, I think Murton gets the job.
  13. cubsfan, i'm not sure if Novoa has options, but the Cubs traded a promising reliever in David Aardsma to get Cotts, I don't think they'll stick him in the minors, despite already having two lefties in the bullpen. I do agree with you on Pagan, Cedeno, and Marshall though.
  14. Don't mean to butt in on someone else's comment, but here's what I would have the Cubs' pitching staff as: SP Zambrano SP Lilly SP Prior SP Hill SP Marquis LRP W. Miller LRP Cotts MRP Wood MRP Ohman SU Eyre SU Howry CP Dempster I'm fairly certain Michael Wuertz has options left, so he should be the odd man out. Alternately, if Wade Miller doesn't make the rotation he could be traded somewhere else for a better chance at a rotation spot, clearing the way for Wuertz to make the staff. Just my :twocents:
  15. kg, the Cubs' Wade Miller looks like he needs a downgrade in velocity: http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/cu...cubnt25.article His fastball is at 92 mph in your roster.
