You add a border, then fill it numerous times using paint bucket. Then, select equal amounts from both sides and clear it. The selection box must cover the entire length of the sig.

Actually, I use my own brushes. I make them, then use them. Everything except for the renders in my sigs are made by me. Edit: Actually thats a lie. I do use some cloud and star brushes from deviantart.

Still, it is pretty much the same. I like your work, but IMO you need to change your fonts more often. You seem to fall into font patterns. You'll use one particular font for a few sigs, and then do it again with another font.

Uh-oh, are you falling in love with another font? It looks like it... try to vary your fonts more. Variations make your sigs look more creative and more spontaneous, compared to styles you keep going back too. For example, I try to vary my styles as much as possible so I don't fall into a sig making pattern. Changing fonts is pretty key in this.

Not quite. It is a duplicate, just larger. Theres two of that layer. I set a colour filter with one and a luminosity filter with the other, with about 50% opacity. Thats what gives it that rusty, transparent look.

Its very good. I love the background, especially Old Trafford there. I suggest using a different font, and maybe putting a stroke or glow around the text.

Ok, this has to be one of the worst and most over saturated sigs I've ever done. But, if you like it take it.
