  1. I think the site is much better prepared now if a new PC baseball game was released, to be honest with you
  2. I just feel like the site could be much more.
  3. I love both, why even choose... Turkey though.
  4. Hi everyone. I hope this finds everyone well and in good health. I just wanted to say thank you for being amazing members of this community. I remember 10 years ago being the 4th or 7th member of this site when Trues started it and thinking to myself that this would be my home for baseball stuff for a long time, even if I wasn't modding anything anymore. I've met a lot of great friends on this site and still have a solid friendship with them to this day as we still talk baseball but discuss other things as well. You know, when you communicate with so many people on a daily basis they begin to feel less like friends but more like family.... But anyway *waves hands* let's discuss some ideas for 2016. As we know, the site is over 10 years old and a lot of stuff on the web has been developed in the past 10 years: Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Reddit, the loss of MVP as a series, the rise of MLB The Show, 2K making baseball games for a while then leaving the baseball gaming world altogether...it can feel like we're slowly fading into obscurity sometimes and turning into just a snapshot/archive of content for MVP Baseball 2005 and earlier games. I don't want that to happen to this community. I think we should evolve into a community that covers baseball, period, while placing a focus on our bread and butter, the baseball games. I would love for the little quips that show up on our infamous shoutbox to become full fledged discussions on which team from which year was better than another team, discussions on possible expansion teams/cities, etc. I think we should be a community that fosters an environment where you can come for the discussions AND the content as well. That being said, I would love to hear some input and ideas on what we can do with MVPMods moving forward past 10 years. It's been a fun ride, and I'd love to have some new music to keep this dance going. Have a happy holidays and an epic offseason guys, KC
  5. I'm saying that it would be awesome to reverse engineer the MVP Online service that EA set up for the game when it first came out to promote online leagues/setups. I remember when I was younger I would play in a LOT of MVP leagues, even as far back as Triple Play Baseball. Those were fun times, especially when DSL was a big thing and we were fortunate enough with several team owners to have a cable connection. The hardest part, aside from facing team owners with a 56K connection was keeping track of statistics over the course of a season and entering them on the site's database, and since we couldn't really export any of the stats into a readable spreadsheet, it was all about screenshots with alt+printscreen or FRAPS at the time. I still think an MVP league would be awesome in this day and age....maybe if I ran a server for that, similar to how other games can have their own hosted servers...I'll think about it after work. The gears are spinning up here *points to head*
5 stars for the amazing turnaround time on the uniforms. Don't worry about the font, I'm sure it will be corrected when the style guide gets updated.
  6. I wonder if there is a way to reverse engineer the EA Sports Online portion of MVP...
  7. You have to load up the roster update before you start a franchise
  8. You should be fairly giddy, David Arias is retiring after the 2016 season
  9. You know the deal. Off-season news goes here, and I'll start off by listing some great things happening in the MLB this week that were worth noting: Arrieta, Keuchel nab Cy Young honors: Were you guys surprised? These two dominated their leagues and Arrieta had a video-game esque second half. While Keuchel did have some cardiac-level starts on the road, there was no place like home for him. Maddon, Bannister win Managers of the Year for Cubs/Rangers: Holy crap, Maddon won it for both leagues? That's amazing, but not as amazing as Texas' manager going from Worst to First in the AL West. Comeback stories are always fun to read about. I've got a feeling this thread will be entertaining as we wait for pitchers and catchers to report in a few months.
  10. No. This was proven to be wrong and flat out shitty journalism.
  11. Don't even get me started on common core, I think it's a load of bullshit. I hate it myself. I also hated the NCLB Act too.
  12. If by "dumbing down our children" you mean passing laws that have ruined education and saddled countless young adults with debt that they can never ever recover from, along with outsourcing and keeping the profits hard working people here in the US help companies make, offshore, then yes I have no issues with the first amendment, but people tend to express opinions with the idea or expectation that there are, or should be no consequences for what is said.
  13. Hate speech will get you banned in this thread. I'll say this now that the thread is still young, but do not let that stop you from having logical thought out posts :) Carry on, everyone.
  14. Everyone, I've been made aware of some issues with the themes that will probably fix itself after clearing your browsers' cache. Let's give that a shot and see if it resolves things.
  15. No. Privacy remains unchanged from initial release.
  16. Uniform? It was awesome, yes, but some parts of the design needed some work. Eventually we'll have a dark theme on the site again. Probably in time for the winter meetings.
  17. Only issue with Windows 10 as far as I know is that MVP 2005 is broken due to the securom thing that's not in 10
  18. Just wanted everyone's thoughts on it so far after the first major system update (Build 1511). Use it? Hate it? Love it? Let's talk about it.
  19. LONG LIVE THE SHOUTBOX Side note though, for everyone: We've recently switched over to v4.1 of our content management system after being on maintenance releases of 4.0 for most of the season. With it, a few things happened: -Shoutbox broke (this has been fixed) -Some themes broke (Minty, our current theme, is okay for now, but my little alterations were reverted to default, which is okay), and we no longer have a dark theme, which I am OK with. -We're much more flexible in terms of what's possible on the backend Still working out database quirks but that's okay Happy sunday!
