I totally forgot elimination chamber was tonight

I agree with you. I'm not a fan of vague descriptions of improvements, tweaks or whatever. What's included in this mod that we haven't made ourselves?
-
So...why don't we let this guy upload that mod here, and we'll do what he did and sort out who did what and take credit for work that could potentially be ours anyway? From what I've determined so far in my searches.... My uniforms are included in this mod Scottybilly's facepacks are included in this mod Your roster is included in this mod along with some recent portrait packs (not sure if yours is in this scottybilly) DaSteelerz' stadiums are included in this mod The superglobal file I've been working on in the past couple of years is in this mod I think I have a general idea of whose work belongs to whom and what the asian MLB2K community have worked on that's 100% theirs, like the sky textures and titlepages of Asian ballplayers. I say let them upload this project on our site and we'll sort out who's work is what if it isn't mentioned explicitly. Not a problem.

The shoutbox has returned. ALL HAIL THE SHOUTBOX

The same way that MVP Caribe has their own MVP Baseball 15 mod, we have our own here. I don't think there has to be one true version, although it would limit confusion.

To be truthfully honest with the community, we need all the web traffic we can get. Doing anything that doesn't sound like "let them upload the mod" resolves nothing. We want to have a thriving, inclusive community again, and I think this is the best course of action. I can't think of any gaming community that is quick to grab the pitchforks and crucify contributors without immediately attempting to resolve what's perceived to be something wrong (uncredited work), and let's be honest, stealing people's work is inevitable and it's something that we can't stop entirely. It happens in the NBA2K community as well, and many other places. What are we going to do, spend meaningless time and effort encrypting all of our content on this site just to prevent a handful of modders from Asia/Latin America from taking our stuff? That resolves nothing and only kills our community faster. We can only highly discourage it on our end by making sure we let the user know our policies in advance. It at least shows to our members that we care.

I'm going to blatantly ignore the tone of your post, because I've been a longstanding member of this community and I'm sure anyone else would have responded differently, but I will say that you need to work on your communication skills with people who contribute a lot to this community and make it what it is. Be much more diplomatic and understanding and I guarantee you the dialogue you have between you and the people that come to this site regularly will improve. Just so I don't stray off course, the truth is, this is the equivalent of a total conversion mod. The bottom line issue among us here should not be what they stole (because to be honest, we've modified everything from 2K), but whether or not we are credited for our work if it's included in that particular mod. Given that this mod would hypothetically be uploaded on our site, we should as a community ensure that our contributions (if any) are recognized in this mod. If they are not, the documentation will be updated by an admin with what we can safely 100% determine to be content by our members. If the contributors are not okay with that, they can host their mods elsewhere. It's an unwritten rule that if you're making a derivative work of someone else's mod (either you're using it as a base or adding on to what they did) that you credit the original author. This isn't unique to us at all, but I guess I'd have to make that disclaimer. We are a community of guys who love modding these games and I think we should all as a whole have a solid understanding of what we're doing. If we still can't come to an understanding, fuck it, I'll just encrypt all my stuff with 256-bit hashed and salted encryption.

So is this where I'm going to post during Monday Night Raw or whenever wrasslin's on?

There's paywalls/membership things across a lot of asian sites because their internet laws are a lot different than other places in the world, for example in SK you have to actually identify yourself by your real name when you register for an account. How am I, an American, supposed to do that? I don't have a Korean ID. If there wasn't such a stringent policy, I'd join their community with no problem, but that's as far as I understand the situation with the Asian MLB/MVP community.
-
The reason there has always been a big "FROWNED UPON" feeling with the mods hosted here is because of several repeat incidents in the past where a lot of modders from the asian community for MVP Baseball/MLB2K12 have taken our work and claimed it to be their own and never gave us any credit for anything that we did at no point in any of the documentation for MLB2K12 or in the credits in MVP Baseball. Some never acknowledged that we existed in any way, but like a lot of things on the internet, if you seek it out, you're likely to find what you're looking for. We always know. I will say that it's hard to take a solid stance against it, but we try to discourage it by addressing it as up front as possible before the user decides to do anything. In this case, I'm currently ensuring that there are submission guidelines for people to follow when they wish to submit content, which is, hands down, what stirs the drink here at MVPMods.

I don't find the problem, to be honest with you. I say this because I have a global.iff file for MLB2K12 that is a compilation of everyone's texture work for the jerseys, pants, logos etc. This mod is, in concept, the same thing but on a bigger scale. It's a best-of with everything that the MLB2K12 community has worked on. I'd love to have that than download everything little by little. I say If he wants to upload an MLB 2K15 compilation with whatever fits best with that mod then so be it, its' a packaged deal. I'm actually happy that nobody is buying it off of some online marketplace, that it's not in a torrent, and to be honest I don't think he's said anything remotely close to imply that all of the work was done himself or by anyone other than the Asian MLB2K community and ourselves at MVPMods/Caribe. I'll also say that the modders in SK are probably just as talented as we are at modding MLB2K12. Real talk, I had to fully decompile, translate, and recompile a utility to manipulate .IFF files that originated in Asia because while we do have a LOT of talented designers, we don't have talented programmers (which reminds me, anyone who knows C#, send me a PM). Let's not act like we're the only MLB2K12 community on the internet.

I talk just like this in real life, 100% non stop baby, WOOOO

I never understood why we steal from 2K all the time

The best one is when Booker T and Stone Cold wrecked a supermarket

So let's make this one the real official thread. My favorite parody is SEXY KURT

Your files have been approved by default and I think I may have removed the manual approval by admin quirk....I think. -KC
-
No it will not. It's compatible only with MLB2K12.
-
I'll take this into account when I tweak the datafile
-
I wonder if there is logic with roster management in regards to that in the datafile or the roster itself

Very weird roster bug found...need others to help confirm.

I'll be waiting patiently until it's done -

It's probably some weird quirk, but with this HRD problem, all of the players have like 0 homeruns as well: -

I have had this weird bug where if I go to the Home Run Derby mode just for fun, my game crashes to the desktop after I select all my guys and attempt to start the game
