Soon, I'm just looking to piece everything together.
-
Y4L, honestly, there isn't much that should be explained. Doesn't matter if Adam31 never made a mod a day in his life or contributed a lot of mods on this site. I don't even think this should be explained any more than it already is, considering I don't like site politics. Here's the cliffnotes version of what transpired. Again, tell me if I'm wrong: Exrxixxx uploaded his work, then broke the site rules and got banned. I keep regular contact with him outside of the site, if that's worth anything, and I have tried to get him back on at MVPMods because his work with hex editing, to me at least, is vital to keeping MLB2K12 relevant. At the same time, he broke the site's rules by making a duplicate account. To my knowledge, he was informed of this and didn't notify any admins. I've come to understand that nobody is above the rules, regardless of how valuable their work may be to some. There have been so many other members who have gotten banned for stupid stuff and have contributed great work, and nobody has ever filed a grievance. Ever. Until now. Nobody has made a single dime off of Exrxixxx's work, and if you get banned, your work stays on this site since it was uploaded when you were an active member. There is no such thing as "taking your ball and going home", unless you contact the admins via email to have your work removed. Even then, because their work was free to download begin with, so many banned modders never really cared. I must ask, why does it matter so much now with one user?
-
HECK YEAH, time to merge this with my roster, mercylord's and picklebrad's. Time to get an UBER ROSTER going.
-
If my mods show up somewhere else, honestly, I don't give a ****. I care only about the things I have control over, and as far as I know it's whether or not I release my work for other people to enjoy. Why should I, if I gave a crap about specifically who uses my work I wouldn't release it for free and I would charge a fee for anyone who wished to use my mods.
-
Firstly, when we say you can download anything you want for free, it means that you pay absolutely nothing for the work uploaded on this site. Every mod here is free to download. By contributing to the site's maintenance (server costs), or uploading a valid mod yourself, you can download as much as you want, which is what could be confusing to you. Secondly, let's not lose sight of the fact that he created a duplicate account. He broke the site rules and a ban was the disciplinary action for breaking these rules. His work is still on this site because he uploaded it when he was an active member, and there are other guys that have had their work remain on the site well after they got banned for duplicate accounts or for other reasons. Lastly, this idea of "permission" is laughable, mainly because well, if you upload your work, by default, you are giving the people on the site permission to use it however they see fit unless you request that it be taken down, and even then, do you really think it will never be uploaded again or mirrored somewhere else? Not everything on the internet is erased forever, you know. If exrxixxx requested that his mod be taken down, what makes you think I won't upload his work elsewhere and post the link on this site?

Take your time. Opening day is a few days away, and I'm looking to compile a full blown roster package by combining my changes, your changes and picklebrad's changes as well as player faces so everyone can have the same roster to work on.
-
When you do release this, I'd like to combine it with a roster I've been working on through a hex editor to fix the overlay colors.
-
Your post is related to this download, which this thread has nothing to do with.

Same here. I use an earlier version of 3DM Mod Tool and I can replace 64x64 scorebug images with no problems. I mean, sure, it'll nag me with a message about using the wrong DXT format but that's okay, DXT5 works fine.
-
Wrong roster, buddy.
-
Imported it, but it freezes on March 27th.
-
There is no guarantee it will work, but I'll sort that out this weekend.

Y4L, glad you asked. MLB2K features two utilities in which you can edit a roster. One being Ty's editor, and another being Vlad's REDitor suite. REDitor is a utility made by a guy named Vlad who is also a user here on the site. It's specifically designed to handle roster files from the NBA2K games and the MLB 2K games, but because Vlad is more of a basketball guy most of the newer versions of the editor are catered more towards the NBA2K games. There are several tiers in which you can buy a key for REditor, the most costly one being the Guru license, but you can do whatever you want with any roster including copying to and from multiple rosters and extensively editing much more on the rosters such as manager names, stadium names, team names, etc. I find it well worth the price, and I am looking to buying the MyFriend panel which makes modding everything a hell of a lot easier. Hell, I'm willing to pay more to make this editor for MLB2K12 a heck of a lot more full featured specifically for this game given that 2K no longer makes baseball games compared to NBA2K's yearly editions which are their bread and butter.
-
The best part about Reditor is that I can Frankenstein any roster to make one UBER roster, which is great.
-
Nobody profits from anybody's work on this site. Most likely the reason why he got banned was because he had a duplicate account which violates the rules the site set forth once we couldn't afford the bandwidth used by every free user who downloaded multiple mods at once. Again, it would have nothing to do with this mod; he just broke the rules.
-
So let's get this out of the way: I'm probably one of the few on this site who ended up buying a Guru license for REDitor. While I am a licensed user I intended to use this for uniform modding, but I am able to manipulate the game's roster in ways Ty's Roster Editor cannot, so I am capable of doing a lot from my end, but I need your help. The current 2014 roster has a ton of skin color...quirks with a LOT of players, which I would be happy to fix up for you guys, but I need a list of those players so I can fix them up. This is where you come in. So far I've done obvious guys on the MLB clubs that don't have matching skin tones, but I know there are a lot of players that I might have overlooked. I am hoping this thread becomes the defacto roster thread for 2K12 this season, so any changes/movements/equipment changes can go here. Help me out guys!

Swb Rail Riders Jersey Preview Help Wiith Number Colors Please!
Kccitystar replied to raidersbball20's topic in Mod Previews
That's because you have to edit the numbers/letters in Red, Green, and Blue format. Red being the actual color for the numbers/letters, Green being the second border on the number/letters and Blue being the first border for both numbers and letters. For example, in my Astros uniform update, the Astros do not have a second border, so my file looks like this, (with no transparency for educational purposes): The color values get inserted through the roster onto the number textures themselves this way. I hope this helps you out. The more knowledge we share, the better -
The logos are a little too big for the jersey but other than that, great job!
-
You use the second disk and every single mod on this site has a tutorial on how to install it
-
You have an overclocked chip which could be causing this error, but it could also be a problem with your video card. Make sure you are using the latest updated Catalyst drivers from AMD.com

Interesting find. I wonder what happens when I change the years up on my roster... EDIT: aaaand nothing.

Pushing Mlb 2K12's Graphic Even Further.
Kccitystar replied to zzcoolj21's topic in Mod Announcements
By all means, send that over when you can. I'd like to combine all my recent work with it -
Its' probably because Schedule_Old and Schedule_Older were not adjusted for the HOU to AL switch maybe? IDK. I hope Kraw can chime in on this since he was the one who dealt with this more than I have

Pushing Mlb 2K12's Graphic Even Further.

Hold up, so this isn't limited to 2K14, this works across ALL 2K's .iff files?
