Thanks for the response Joe. I've tried to reach out to everyone I know, while it's been hard, I know a project of this magnitude is going to be fun to see it through from start to finish. We've got a ton of creative people participating in this endeavor, however, I think there should be a list about potential non-modder candidates to be in the documentary, like a big name associated with the MVP series, like someone from the old development team or something. I immediately thought of Ben Brinkman, but I take it he's busy being Executive Producer of the Call of Duty games. Another name is Brent Nielsen, who was one of the guys who was associated with the Triple Play games and was one of the guys who was integral to the development of MVP Baseball. I do not know how to reach them, but I do know Nielsen has a twitter account... I also thought of probably a current baseball player or a player who has been aware of our work, be it Total Classics, any of the Total Conversion mods or even MVP Caribe. I think we should try to figure out what we can/can't legally do in terms of MLB/EA related stuff though.

Just picked it up today. Install time is brutal. 25 minutes or so for 10 gigs of game data

These are awesome ideas man, they just need to be split into tiers. I say we name the tiers after the difficulty settings in the game :)

Haha, welcome back! About the 2K editing.... We did find out how to edit the textures to get results that we wanted, but it's been difficult if only because we rely a lot on the NBA 2K modding community for tools/resources since the file systems are the same for both sports games. I think it was discovered how to move objects in the stadiums, but not able to add stuff though.

I don't know exactly how much to budget for this endeavor though

It's a site that's helps setup crowdfunding for projects created by people/communities. When you set up a project, there is a funding goal and deadline, and there's an all-or-nothing approach to it: If people like the project, they can pledge money to make it happen. If the project succeeds in reaching its funding goal, everyone who donated/pleged to fund this project has their credit cards charged when time expires. If the project falls short, no one is charged anything, and nobody loses money. Whatever is on Kickstarter has to be a project, something with a clear goal, like making an album, a book, or a work of art. A project will eventually be completed, and something will be produced by it. If a project is successfully funded, Kickstarter takes 5% from whatever the project funding goal was.

I'm wondering, since kickstarter was mentioned, what would be the incentives for people to pitch in? What can we offer? I mean I already had the goal of putting it up on YouTube to be archived forever....

So far people on board as of this post: Y4L (for historian purposes) Trues Totte RaptorQuiz BigRog (used to make sigs in the off-topic) Fuzz HFLR Homer DennisJames71 MrDudleyDoWright5 stecropper I just extended an invite to JoeRudi26, plan on sending Jim825, The Big O, and SESbb30 an invite also. I'd also want to include Sean O into this, if only because he contributed a lot towards stadium work as well as engaging in productive discussions here on MVPMods. I'm sure he's got a lot to talk about. At the moment I'm kind of stuck on how exactly to fund this film, given that everyone's in different locations and I don't have the visual equipment at the moment to make it happen...so we're at square one.

Modding itself has been very therapeutic from one of the darkest periods in my life (2008-ongoing), so this game has affected everyone somewhat in other ways. I could do something like that. I'm just working out a few things.

Things....just got realer :)

I'm trying to get more people involved. I spoke to Fuzz a while ago, so he's in.

I can't really see myself doing that with annual sports titles. Then again, I do have MLB 2K12 on my Steam account....:| My bro will most likely buy it for us to play (we're competitive like crazy at almost everything).

Use this one :) uniform_swy.rar

replace the uniform_swy.iff file with another team and import the associated images in there. Resize one of the images I uploaded to 64x64 and try that out.

I wanted to run this idea by all of you, since we have all been friends for many years now. Last night, HFLR and I were chatting and catching up with life, modding and the success of MVP Caribe. We were reminiscing about modding and stuff, and it dawn upon the both of us that we should definitely look into filming a brief documentary about the site, MVP Baseball and how it brought us all here. Nothing incredibly lengthy, probably a one hour/45 minute short documentary, about: - The origins of MVPMods - How some of us who got into modding for MVP actually started - The "golden years" of the site, when things started to hit their stride - The end of MVP Baseball and the fallout from 2K acquiring the MLB licensing - The legacy of MVP Baseball and MVPMods and what it has meant to everyone involved (projects such as MVP Caribe, Total Classics, etc.) - Among other things that can be discussed could be some of the highs and lows in regards to the site, memorable moments, that one time Pirate got his Great American Ballpark mod posted in a PC gaming mag, stuff like that. While I am extending this invite to all of the modders and people from the "old guard", I was just wondering if anyone would want to hop on board and contribute something, given the immense size of the entire MVP/2K Baseball community. I think it would be awesome. As I sit here reminiscing on a lot of things that went down on this site, I realize that while we may just be a site based on PC baseball games, there are so many memories, friendships formed, drama, excitement, surprises, and people I will always remember. Honestly, to me it would feel like it would be the perfect way to preserve the work of more than 8 years of modding and being a part of this site/community, almost like a love letter/thank you note. Now, filming it all is going to be a ridiculous uphill climb, because many people do not live in the US, Some of us live in Asia, others live south of the equator, and some live in Europe, so what I could attempt to do would be like a skype call or have some things vlogged, and the footage compiled and added to the documentary. In no way would this be for profit or anything like that, it would honestly just be uploaded to YouTube, immortalized on its own channel. If anyone else is interested/has some ideas, I welcome them. Let's brainstorm.

PM has been sent ;)

Hang on to these for a bit. I may have something for you ;)

No, they were not.

I did have a few parks where I replaced a few things, but I never had the time to really finish any of them. I will look into seeing what I can re-color/what ads I can replace down the line.

It works fine, although I am having problems installing Steam.....:|

Windows 7 and above have different security measures that keeps people or programs from tinkering with the Program Files folder. The only way around this issue was to run every executable that would require you to mod MVP05 files within the Program Files folder as an Administrator. If necessary, you could run it in compatibility mode with Windows XP. If I can find my MVP 2005 discs, I'll test it out on my Windows 8 x64 rig and see if it all works like I'm assuming it would.

There's a glitch with MLB Today that causes the game to freeze up since there are no more days in the season to be played, although my copy (PC version) keeps October 2nd as its final day. The problem really is a glitch in how the game syncs the MLB Today scheduling data. What you can try and do is: 1) Play with the console disconnected, set the PS3 date back to something like September 23, 2012 (where there was still baseball to be played) 2) Once the game loads up and the home screen has the "current" date of September 23rd, simply connect the console back online, log in under your PSN account and download the latest live roster. Once you download and save the latest live roster, it should boot you back to the home screen and begin syncing the MLB Today data. The last date should be October 2nd or something like that. You can then exit the game and load it up again. It's a complicated procedure, but seeing as I don't own the PS3 version I am only trying to mirror the steps taken for the PC version. I hope I was of some help Good luck!

There is a fix. No utilities required. Search the forum for my workaround.

...I'm going to get this as a poster to have one of the worst calls in MLB history immortalized:
