  1. I just found out that every font in this game is textured in a way that fits the color editing function of Ty's editor, so I can't just edit the fonts in the IFF files with whatever team color I want. I might be on to something here if every team's fonts work the same. Stay tuned!
  2. OK so I fixed up the colors for the actual uniform thru Ty's editor. Although it's not the look I want, it will do. For now. Let's say I wanted to release these uniforms when they're done, but the colors are all wonky on someone else's roster file. How would I go about implementing color changes on their files?
  3. To be exact, I am trying to correct the fonts for the 1998 Diamondbacks uniforms, since the fonts are just recolored versions of the ones they currently use. I'm having weird trouble with alpha channels, mipmaps, etc. It's horrible. I'm starting to think it's just encoded this way :(
  4. OK let's get this list underway! I'm having trouble with the numbers for the green screen :| they show up as gray when I make the textures
  5. Just curious, what are the list of uniform related changes that need to be made?
  6. Successfully edited the Yankees road uniforms with the proper colors. Logo change will follow :D
  7. Well, I was so caught up with MLB 12: The Show that I forgot I had a competent PC that can play MLB 2K12, so I bought it. Upon buying it, I had to wince plenty of times while playing this game, seeing the uniforms with the wrong colors, some brighter than others. It was a frustrating experience. Now, what I want to do is mod these jerseys again, but the catch here is that it is not as easy as I thought it would be when I used to mod for MVP 2005. Now you have to deal with texture files and all that jazz, but I think I have an idea how to edit some things from tinkering with all the files this afternoon. I have some questions though: 1) Some jerseys are just flat out textures with no logos on them. I have no clue what to do with those, do I slap on a logo, or....? 2) Some uniforms have all white fonts, but the textures show them as being colored in red and lime green. Not sure what that's about, if anyone can help me with that I'd be grateful. 3) Since the files get decompressed when I open the .iff files, how do you compress them again so that they work? Right now I'm sitting on some pretty nifty Yankees road uniforms, but I don't know how to add them back in :| Thanks in advance!
  8. The unfortunate legacy of the MLB 2K series for gamers was that it was never a next-gen product. They chose to simply build on top of the last-gen engine, and as a result there have been legacy quirks/bugs/"features" in every iteration of the game for the last ten years. For instance, you get the same small batch of hit types (soft line drives at infielders) ten times per game every single year. In the end, it was like the team at Kush Games/Visual Concepts could only try to patch up the same walls to a rickety old house -- they were never going to be able to unlock its full potential without razing the whole thing and starting with a brand-new foundation. Say what you will about EA, but they took the time/resources to have separate teams that built new tech from the ground-up for their sports titles in this generation, and as such they at least feel like games that pushed next-gen tech. NBA Live looked amazing even if the gameplay sucked, NHL actually took a year off between Xbox 1 and 360 so EA Canada could build new tech for it (and it's been great), and Madden's gameplay has slowly caught up to its solid tech over the course of this generation.
  9. nice. right now i've taken screenshots of literally every single background that's in the game so I can place the appropriate picture where it needs to be. I'll probably work on a logo in the near future. Keep the first post updated with what's been done so far
  10. The latter. As far as specs go, I know any computer from 2008 onward can support this game and run everything properly. Strangely enough I thought about using Ryan Braun.
  11. 1) Has it been verified what can support 2X resolution and what won't support 2X resolution? This is a 7 year old game we're talking about here. 2) Has it also been agreed upon who should be the "cover boy" or focus of the MVP 12 related stuff?
  12. Are you sure that cropping the photos that way won't leave ugly jaggies behind? Anyway, I'm wondering how encoding is done for the intro video for MVP 2005. I've seen mods that have redone that clip, but I'm not sure how.
  13. I'm going to have to update this to reflect 2012 changes. Holy crap.
  14. I can probably help with visual stuff like the frontend art. I just need to find a decent ton of photos.
  15. Version 2.0

    504 downloads

Included in this template are 8 parts of a modern uniform to get you started modding for MVP Baseball 2005/2004. The templates included are one long sleeve, two short sleeves, 4 parts of the upper body, and 1 lower body
  16. I'm totally looking forward to doing a frontend art update again... but first I gotta get these templates out of the way
  17. I can't download the 2011 portraits. It gives me something about not being able to access private area of the site or whatever.
  18. The closest set of jerseys I could find were from Big Schmooz's models.big update with my uniforms in them, but PM me if you have later editions.
  19. Interesting. I lost all my uniform textures (hi-res xbox 360 textures given to me by Krawhitham several years ago), but if I could just find one set of jerseys that I made around 2007 or so, I could probably recreate the templates I've had my inbox stuffed with requests for. I plan on buying MLB 2K12 though from Steam eventually.
  20. Wait, I have to install the MVP 08 mod before even doing all of this stuff?
  21. First things first, from the site veterans to the new blood, I extend my greetings While I have kept all my PC games in a box, recently I chose to reinstall my copy of MVP Baseball 2005. By copy, I mean official retail one. That said, I played one game with absolutely no mods. Totally a vanilla version of MVP. Right after playing this one game, I had a smile on my face, mainly because I thought of all the mods everyone has taken time to make over the years. Mods that made what was pretty awesome looking in 2005 still look amazing over the years with all the limitations the "engine" has had. Well, enough of the mushy stuff. I figure what the hell, a 6 year old game should have a ton of mods by now, right? So I return back to where it all started for me.... So anyway, first thing I did was install the newer stadiums. Now, I've been out of the loop for a while, so I downloaded all of the 2011 versions of the stadiums (dennisjames71, thank you for your work as well as everyone else who has worked on stadiums), installed the last set of frontend art/loading screens I made, and installed all the minor stuff. Things like bats, overlays, gloves, 3D model updates, etc. Where I'm stumped at is trying to find portraits, audio, cyberfaces and rosters. If I remember from years ago, the roster is most important, mainly because the player audio, portraits and cyberfaces are all assigned specific values from the roster file itself.... Given that there used to be compilations before with Total Audio, Total Portraits and stuff like that, now, I'm not exactly sure where to begin If anyone who still plays this game can help me out somewhat, I'd be eternally grateful. Thanks in advance!
  22. Havent posted some thoughts in a while, but here goes. - I've been a Sprint subscriber for the past 4/5 years now. My contract is set to end in June. I guess other cell phone providers snoop or something, because they've started to bombard me with flyers and all of these great offers thru the mail. I recently got one from Verizon and I figured, okay, I should just let my contract end in June and jump to big red, but I honestly don't know; I think Sprint is going to go above and beyond to keep me as a customer but they have ****-poor promotional sales compared to T-Mobile and Verizon. What I really want to do though is buy the Nexus S phone and just get a data plan and use google voice though, but we'll see what happens. - I tried the MLB 11 demo for the PS3 the other night, and I absolutely LOVED IT. The implementation of analog pitching is perfect. I think this is the game that will kickstart my interest in baseball again. I lost interest a few years ago, mainly because I've felt like players don't give a **** about the teams they play in or the franchises that made them the stars that they are. Some players are blinded by money, and in the end the money organizations throw at these superstar players will pigeonhole their team from making any heavy transactions. It's hard to try and get back into following the sport, but so far so good, and for the past couple of seasons I've warmed up to Giants' starter Tim Lincecum. That boy can bring it when he needs to and I've caught myself going out of my way (from school, work, video game time) more than once just to see him pitch. No worries, I'm still a Yankee fan at heart until the end. - I've been DJing house music to occupy my free time, and this hobby has expanded my taste in music and helped others discover new artists the same way I have. While I was really into Daft Punk (as some veterans remember), I've always had an ear for beats but I've been hooked on bands like Cut Copy, Midnight Juggernauts, and The Twelves. I've seen my music library expand over the span of several years from just 3GB to 18GB, a 6x increase. My Zune's been getting a lot of play, and my hobby has had me hearing a track and instantly going, "You know, this sounds REALLY good with X song", or "Man, I could sure cut that part out of this song and sample this...". Ultimately, DJing has taught me to enjoy music a whole lot more than just hearing what's on the radio. - A lot of friends have accounts across multiple social networking sites, so I jumped onto that bandwagon and meddle with several, all which I can access on my phone. I now have, a Facebook account, solely to keep in contact with friends/family, Twitter to post little rumblings here and there and small thoughts, Tumblr account to post the abstract, like music/images/blog entries/videos, FourSquare to check in to places with friends/family, and a Yelp account to find places that are worth visiting in NYC. Almost all of these services are interconnected in a way that if I use FourSquare for example, I can log in, check in to wherever I am, and the application will post on my Facebook wall, and on my Twitter feed. While having all of these applications might be hard to wrap your head around, it's all about being accessible and keeping up with the social life XD - I have not touched my MVP Baseball 2005 discs in such a long time, but I know it's a collector's item somewhat so I keep it in storage along with my other EA PC games, like MVP Baseball 2004/3, Triple Play Baseball, NBA Live 2004/3, etc. - I don't get the obsession that some people have over having everything downloadable. I will personally continue to obtain my media in physical form until the infrastructure of US broadband is sufficient enough that I don't need to worry about executives meddling with my bandwidth with caps or throttling....or I could always move to South Korea... - Losing weight is difficult but it's a challenge I'm not backing down from. I'm slowly changing my eating habits, being more active by walking to places and educating myself about all the crap I eat. While it makes me a picky eater (exception being my grandma's cooking, anything she touches turns to delicious gold), my cardiovascular system and my digestive system will thank me in the long run.
  23. ....So Verizon lands the iPhone 4. In order to keep their subscribers, AT&T increased their early termination fee, but people are going to jump ship anyway. Verizon is an awesome carrier. I use Sprint but whatever, we piggyback off of Verizon's network every now and then ....I recently got a Platinum trophy (1000/1000 achievement points for you XBOX guys) in the PS3 version of Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit. Criterion, the development team behind Burnout: Paradise delivered a solid title yet again. Autolog, which is their social networking feature will always keep me coming back, as my friends post faster times for races and I can just jump right in, beat their time, and quit the game at any moment. ....I've been on a media blackout for MLB 11: The Show. No screenshots, no trailers, nothing. The only thing I remember reading for months now is news that Joe Mauer returns as the coverboy. That's about it. I still want the MLB exclusivity deal to expire so EA can revive the MVP series once again though. ....I recently got into the TV series How I Met Your Mother. It's a funny sitcom. The premise of the show is a father recanting the story of how he met his children's mother, so explaining a story like that requires amazing amounts of continuity and the show delivers on that aspect from the start. On a side note, Barney, played by Neil Patrick Harris, ironically enough is a womanizer on the show, although he's a proud gay man in real life. ....Jersey Shore Season 3 so far is meh. I blame Sammi for ruining the show by isolating herself and dragging her boyfriend into her trainwreck. YES, I watch this show and it's probably one of the few "Reality TV" shows I watch. ....My girlfriend of 2 years broke up with me in the beginning of December and although in the beginning it was a devastating thing to have happen to me, a month later, I have a renewed spirit. I feel good mentally and no longer crushed by the feelings associated with a breakup. I thank friends, family and the many things I had available for me to do at the time, to keep my mind occupied like (watching TV, playing video games, DJing, watching movies) because I know I would have drove myself crazy given the circumstances surrounding the reason why she broke up with me. She was a *****, none of my close friends liked her, and although she's tried the past couple of weeks to extend a hand at being friends, I am not turning back. I met another woman that I'd love to date and I am not letting this girl hold up my future with her garbage, despite us having a history together. Whatever. ....I haven't mentioned much in regards to baseball but man I miss the sport and I look forward to getting back into the sport when pitchers and catchers report around Valentine's Day. I miss it dearly.
  24. Remembering many aliases again and strengthening old friendships :) It's good to be back although things are different.

  25. is ALiVE...somewhere.
