Random Thoughts On A Sunday Morning Updated To 7-28
redsox replied to Yankee4Life's topic in Left Field (Off-Topic)
If that's the case, I would look to spend the money elsewhere. The Show definitely is a wonderful game, but I wouldn't spend $200+ to just play one game. -
Thank you very much! I am able to attach the .7z files now.
-
Trues, would it be possible to allow .7z files to be attached to any PMs that are sent?
-
Bad idea since the site is then obligated to provide those paid members a roster update, uniform updates, cyberface updates, and the other mods that you have listed every year. People who work on these mods do so on their spare time (or so I assume) and it would just foolish to ask them to provide an update each year. And if they just don't feel like providing that update, it's only going to come back and bite Trues and this site in the ***.

Gamestop has currently listed the price for the game at $4.99 though they are currently out of stock. You may get lucky at a local store. http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDet...roduct_id=27378

You can install the cyberface at any time to the models.big. If you need to update the face ID, just use tywiggins' MVPEditor to change it.

From what I can tell, if you are adding uniforms to an empty slot, it will only generate numbers in the back of the jersey. There is no associated font file to display numbers on the front.
-
That should be no problem then. Though it seems like the total number of uniform slots varies with each team. Homer spent sometime investigating this and from what I remember, some teams can't have more than 13-14 uniforms whereas certain teams are able to have up to 15 uniforms. In any case, you will need to install the uniform file, the font file, and the uniform portrait for the newly added uniform to work properly.
-
You cannot add numbers to an uniform if it didn't have it to begin with it. You can however blank out the alphas to remove the text or the numbers.

Anti-aliasing. Makes jagged edges smooth. It creates a more realistic 3D image on the screen.

But isn't there a higher risk of injury playing through 162+ games rather than playing baseball for a month? Really not sure why people automatically assign a "risk of injury" to WBC and that players would be better of not playing in that tournament, when a player could be just as injured by working out over the off-season or anytime during the season. But one thing I will agree with is that a player is under contract with his team and he has an obligation to his team. I kinda understand why teams might be a little hesitant to send their players to the tournament. I guess any team would much rather have their players get injured playing for them rather for someone else, but it's not like they are playing a completely new sport. Besides, the exposure is always a good thing. ___________________________________________________________________ * Anyway, I finally sent in my order for a new computer and I am actually quite excited about building my very own. I should be getting all the parts in sometime next week. Will post a screen when I have assembled everything. Next Gen. here I come! * The next thing would be to sell my 360 Elite and get a PS3. I just can't resist not playing The Show anymore. Besides, all the games I have now are available for PS3 as well. * Has anyone played F.E.A.R. 2 yet? I played the prequel and it was one of the best games I had ever played. Scared the **** out of me at times, but an amazing game nonetheless. And now that I am going to have a better computer, these are the games that are on my wish list: Call of Duty 4, F.E.A.R. 2, NBA 2k9, Fallout 2, Age of Empires III, Crysis, World in Conflict, Warcraft III, Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six, and Prince of Persia. -

It started off as a small get-together, but it took a turn when the Bacardi and Captain Morgan bottles were taken out of the refrigerator. They should have known better than to dangle rum in front of me! -

Word to the wise - red wine, Bacardi, Captain Morgan, lemon juice, and coke DO NOT go together! -
You can't get a transparent background with a .bmp. You need to create a corresponding alpha image.

F.E.A.R. is one of the best games I have ever played. Has an awesome storyline and not to mention scared the hell out of me when I played it the first time. Alma is sneaky man!

If you installed them through TiT, do what I told you to do in your thread.

Uniform Creation Tutorial This tutorial is intended to help you create uniforms from scratch for MVP Baseball 2005. This is just a standalone version. My intention is to create the tutorial in conjunction with a video tutorial sometime later. If you are unsure about any of the steps or if you need help with a certain section, just PM me or post in this thread and I will try and help you out. -

* I thought only the Red Sox of pre-2004 were supposed to tug at your heart and then tear it apart. But after watching the game last night... * I am actually kinda excited about getting my dynasty (Baseball Premier League) under way pretty soon. All the templates have been done. Only thing remaining to do are the uniforms and to set the rosters. If you guys have time, check out the progress thus far HERE. * I hate midterms, but what's even worse is that one of the exams I took was an opinionated exam. Basically, you can be right as long as you justify your answer. But, here's a question for those who have taken or given tests/exams - How the hell can you have two right answers on a TRUE/FALSE question? If the question is a true or false question, then the statement is well.... either TRUE or FALSE. There is no true AND false based on the justification. If the question is ambiguous then it shouldn't be part of the true or false question set in the first place. Anyway, I could go rambling on about that exam, but I will end it at that. * One movie I want to go and watch soon is Body of Lies. From what my friends have told me, it's one hell of a movie. -
Nice job indeed with those templates. One suggestion I have would be for the backgrounds in general to be more transparent.
-
I would much rather you play as the Angels and start Wakefield for the Red Sox. That should provide a much higher percentage of the Sox heading to the ALCS wouldn't it? Just messing with you man.
-
Are you planning on going with the idea that I used to present in my dynasty? Edit: Just noticed that Manny's got 30+ HRs and that's before the All-Star break. To spice up your dynasty, you could possibly have a single-season HR tracker (maybe starting in August or so) to follow along with Manny and see if he can pass Bonds.

Sorry, must have gotten confused. It's a balanced schedule generator; not a random schedule generator. http://www.mvpmods.com/Downloads/details/id=3748.html Edit: It still generates a schedule randomly but the first time around. The same schedules are repeated again the next time you run the program.
-
If you want to randomly generate a schedule, there is a mod in the download section. If you want to edit the schedule yourself, then open up schedule.big and extract mlb162_1.dat. You can open that file using any text editor or just excel to make your changes.

Who the hell said anything about you having to stop making sigs? If you don't like to receive criticisms then why ask for it? And from what I have seen on here, everyone seems to be giving you PLENTY of feedback on what areas to improve. And to be quite frank, fonts are not your biggest problem. You can make do with a sig without text. In any case, text is the last thing you should be worried about.
-
And that's the honest truth. Well put. Andrew, hope you don't take this the wrong way, but frankly I have seen no improvements in your sigs at all. Take wrigley for example, or lucas. With each sig they made, they showed tremendous improvements. Part of your problem (I think) comes from the fact that you just don't listen to the criticisms that others hand out. How long does it take for you to create a sig? How many layers do you generally have? What type of filters do you apply to your sig? What kind of sig are you most interested in making? stock? c4d? brushes? etc...
