Thanks,KC,that's cool,i can live with it the way it is then, i really like the new fielding view.
-
Thanks KC,i just played a game with this datafile and in my half of the 11th inning i sent the runner from 2nd base and on the throw home the ball skipped off the mound and over the catcher's head, never seen that in MVP before, that is pretty cool. Which view do you recommend using for best effect,i used 6,4 view for this game and didn't get widescreen effect for batting?

Patch 2 Survey: FOV adjustments for 16:9 monitors?
akilgour13 replied to Kccitystar's topic in Support
I'd like the widescreen option,please! -
Here are some screens, using the MVP 08 mod with hd grass and dirt, updated gloves and equipment with GeDoSaTo 4k downsampling to 1920x1080 and ReShade (ENB style shader) mods.

Gordo, you are welcome, this site and the mods and modders have given me a lot of enjoyment so any time i can help out it makes me happy to give back a little bit.Hopefully someone that knows shaders can run with this info, also GeDoSaTo has shaders built into it as well, i've just scratched the surface of it,trying to develop a package for Madden 04 but also MVP,just starting out. And evidently, if anyone uses pcsx 2 to emulate ps2 The Show games it works with GeDoSaTo as well.

O.k.,So i have found a couple of programs that seem to do a nice job of upgrading the hdr lighting and resolution of MVP and many other pc games. The first one is called ReShade, available at reshade.me(or a google search for reshade.me).This program is like Rolie's hdr mod with enb, except it uses many different effects packages. The nice thing about ReShade for use in MVP 2005 is that it uses DX9 shaders (by converting from DX8) which enable more complex effects.ReShade's developer is working with the guy who developed SweetFX,and many of the other people who create shaders for skyrim, etc. are members at their site. Get the ReShade with framework download,it has 3 different shader packages to try included with the download. The other program is called GeDoSaTo which i believe is an acronym for generic down sampling tool. Downsampling is a method of getting very high resolutions to work without having a 4K monitor, essentially as i understand it. It will display at your monitors pixel settings ,the effect is much more detail onscreen, not sure of the framerate hit, it doesn't seem to affect my mvp in game although i have a i5 cpu and a pretty recent gpu(Nvidia GTX 645) so less powerful systems may be affected more. Both of these programs are very simple to use,GeDoSaTo has a screen capture feature that is a nice addon. I don't have any screens yet to show but hope to post some soon. Google GeDoSaTo for a download location.

Thanks for the help Y4L ,it was my anti virus not allowing the d/l for some reason ,temporarily disabled it and it worked...

Is there anyway to get Total Installer Thingy reupped,it's d/l page appears to be one of the broken ones?

I can use the HDR and that is probably the most improvement i notice along with the HD grass and dirt,i haven't messed with menus and such too much yet, just trying to get the in game squared away first. My dream is to find a program like texmod that works with dx8 so mvp could be modded like madden 08 those guys have created some awesome stuff over at the football idiots site. That could open up a new level of graphics improvement. It definitely looks to me like a lot of the other stuff is in the mods like crowds and bats, balls etc. KC's hi res player models look like an improvement over the ones from the 08 mod for example though and i'm sure there are a few more that will help now that i actually browsed the download section more thoroughly. I will eventually will get to your new text menus though:) Thanks!

So i'm interested in files that will improve the game look, for example Rolie's HDR mod or the hi res grass and dirt. Just looking for a few suggestions as to what mods people use the most for things like player models gloves and equipment crowds etc. No restrictions on my end as far as graphical power goes. I don't use the original 05 at all, just MVP 14,08,98,88,78 and 58 mods. I imagine many of the updates are in these mods already? Thanks in advance for any suggestions etc.

Hi-When i attempt to download i receive an error message telling me i've exceeded my daily limit even though i haven't logged in for over a day. AFAIK i'm not banned so any ideas as to what might be the issue? Thanks in advance for any help.

Another old topic i know but i had to comment because i am curious. Recently my wife gave me a kindle hd fire for my 50th birthday and among the things i use it for is internet radio at my job(auto repair) .I have the usual apps (i-heart pandora live365) for listening but recently tried a new one called TuneIn. While browsing it i searched for anything baseball or baseball related and found something pretty cool. The Baseball Historian broadcasts old game recordings some of which match Y4L's postings so is that you Y4L? Anyhow even if it isn't there are many games posted of which i have listened to 1959 World Series games 1 and 5,with Mel Allen as one of the commentators don't remember the other guy. Complete with commercials even! Just an interesting slice of sports history imo. Pretty sure TuneIn works on pc as well if anyone is interested.

O.K. That's something i can do.I've been reading Bill James' "What Happened to the Hall of Fame?" As soon as i finish, that will be the next one.

I noticed that there haven't been any postings in this topic for a long while so i hope it hasn't been considered dead and that's why nothing new has been posted. Also would like to say i have no talent for modding but this topic provides a way that i can give back to a site and people who have provided me with so much enjoyment over the years. The Era by Roger Kahn (available as an e-book for a very reasonable price as well) should be of special interest to fans of the great NYC baseball teams of the late forties through the fifties to the eventual relocation of the Dodgers and Giants, but any fan of baseball will not be put off by the somewhat narrow focus of the book. Kahn came of age during this period first as a fan of the Dodgers then as a young reporter covering first Brooklyn then Yankee and Giant baseball for the Herald Tribune and then Newsweek magazine as its sports editor.Kahn also wrote The Boys of Summer (about the Brooklyn Dodgers of 1952/53). This book is full of litle known stories about players managers and owners drawn from his everyday interactions with them in his job. The integration of baseball is given a new look especially in the description of the attempted organization of a strike to force Jackie Robinson out of major league baseball and the petition by his Dodger teammates saying they would not play ball if he were on the team. The personalities and escapades of Leo Durocher,Casey Stengel, Larry MacPhail,Branch Rickey and Walter O'Malley receive close scrutiny from Kahn, as do certain pivotal moments on the field for various memorable games and seasons, like Bill Bevens' near masterpiece in 1947,Don Larsen's perfect game in 1956,the seventh game of the '55 Series. I can't recommend this book enough. The only criticism i would have is i didn't want it to end. Available through Amazon as a physical book or an e-book. Amazon provides a sample on it's site which is downloadable to a pc or e book reader as well.
