  1. i had to edit his post. just read what i wrote in a reply to him. if the cd isn't being recognized, try using imgburn to create an image file and then run it with daemon tools lite. yeah that should be plenty actually. i was just wondering because i've noticed a lot of crashing with newer builds. i still am seeing a lot of issues from people who have the more powerful hardware.
  2. please remember, no talk about pirated software. if you don't like to use the cd, you can create an image file from your discs. perfectly legal.
  3. i recommend the installer thingy. but i'm still having no luck. i've even extracted all the files and reinstalled them in a fresh models.big with the installer thingy and am getting the same crash. it's a possibility that there's a face or uniform that's crashing it.
  4. dennis, i'm running it right now and will let you know how it goes. how do you normally install files into the models.big?
  5. i've done some more testing: i booted up the E8400 maching and mvp runs fine on it. when i run the 2014 mod it runs this time. i tried to test a game and found that it crashed right after i selected the teams and the load screen was about to start. when that happens, there are two likely culprits: the models.big or graphic overload. i replaced the models.big with an older one because I noticed the 2014 models.big was over 800mb (which is usually a red flag for me). game starts up and works fine. i noticed the overlay you used, and just remembered that it is a very graphic intensive overlay, which means that there are going to be times it crashes with combination of all the 2x textures used and some of the high res stadiums. my conclusion: the models.big is too big. solution is to remove some uniforms until it gets below 800 mb. i've noticed that whenever it gets in the 780-790 mb range, it becomes very unstable.
  6. I don't think it's an issue with the operating system. i've played the game on all the different operating systems with no issues. i've also played it right off my portable hard drive because the game is portable. i've also played it without issues off my desktop. but i recently built a new upscale machine and just noticed mvp doesn't work. here's my current hardware: 3770k cpu, 2x 560ti's, 16gb ram, and 256gb ssd. this should be plenty of juice to run the game since i was playing it just fine on an E8400 machine. my running hypothesis is that it just doesn't handle well on newer hardware. that's just my guess for now, but i'm still running some initial tests. i'll let you guys know if i find anything out.

  8. the reason editing the all star players edits creates different attributes is if the roster maker did not manually set the all star rosters correctly. to do it correctly, you must edit the dat files to manually point to the players in the dat files so that they show up on the all star teams. the reason it's beneficial to do it this way is that there is a limit of players you can have on the rosters. when done correctly, editing the player in mvpedit will edit both versions of them on their team and on the all star team. some roster makers have gone the easier route by simply creating the player twice in the game, once on their team and once on the all star team. this works, but also uses up an extra 50 spots in the game that could otherwise go to another player that needed to be created.
  9. gotcha. i must have missed that part. yeah it can technically be converted to a short sleeve mod because all you have to do is modify the skin texture. all the guy did was add a color on top of the skin, so if you want it short, just add less shirt.
  10. ok what are you guys talking about? there already is a mod for it. there's at least three of them in the downloads.
  11. the difference one letter makes. i searched "sleeves" and the first three that came up had all the sleeve mods.
  12. use the original >installer thingy. you can use it to extract it and install into that file properly. it's the only reliable way i've found.
  13. you'll have to make sure the mod installed in the initstay file correctly.
  14. this mod just changes the skin tones, which is not apart of the uniform files. it's apart of the initstay file. it has a few extra slots so they added a few textures. you need to edit the config file for mvpedit so that you can assign the extra slots to the player you want to have these sleeves.
  15. i guess you didn't see my post earlier. this is a hardware issue. it runs better with just the clean install because it is much less graphically demanding than the conversion mods. the conversion mods require more juice because of the higher res mods that are in them, and unless you have a gaming laptop or a laptop with a dedicated graphics card, it will be choppy. it doesn't take much to run this game, but an integrated video won't cut it.
  16. well the reality is that's what has happened. he never released his uniform templates but released a ton of uniforms and accessories. from those mods others have taken them and created some of their own. if you've been around long enough, you can tell what is his work in the mods. if you look at pretty much any uniform mod anymore, his work is the base for them.
  17. my facepack follows the id list, but we've found a lot of missing ones because oscar has assigned some ids for faces not hosted on mvpmods, so there might be some missing. i'm working on updating them, but each update has addressed the ones i found. if you find any others, post them in my thread.
  18. yeah it's always worked fine for me. i've been lucky not to have the issues a lot of users mention. i still run XP Mode just to make cyberfaces. small world, we had a house in port orchard too.
