  1. I guess this can be a general forum for cyberface makers since i have nowhere to post this. if anyone wants a hand at a face for justin smoak, please feel free to use this texture. i've been at it for hours and just can't get a good model for him. it seems like such a shame to let the texture go to waste too. 0000.BMP
  2. i'm not saying i have time to do anything, but if i find time, it's best to have them up to see what there is. if i can do them, i will. but if i don't, other modders who see them might be able to. it's just best to post them out here for everyone to see. the hard part with classic players is that there aren't many good photos available for cyberfaces. most of the ones that are good, aren't available to the general public or aren't shared by the owners. the photos you need to make a decent cyberface needs to have these qualities: 1. person needs to be looking straight towards you with his face. eyes don't matter as much but the face should be towards you. 2. high quality. i can't stress this enough. the higher the quality the better. this doesn't just mean size of the image. you can take a small image and increase the size but it gets pixelated. the images we make cyberfaces on end up being 256x512 pixels. so the image you provide needs to be a lot larger than that with high resolution if you want decent details. i've learned techniques to add in qualities, but i'm no master at them and it adds hours to each cyberface, often making it not worth the effort. i've only created a few faces in my time from complete scratch and those have taken me weeks. 3. color over black and white. anytime you start using black and white, it makes it much more complicated. 4. good lighting. any time you have bad lighting such as too much glare or too many shadows, it really makes it difficult too. those are the basics. if it's missing any of those items, it makes things a lot harder.
  3. just post the pictures. if someone can do them, it'll get done better that way. i'm always looking for photos, but finding useful ones are hard to come by.

Cyberface for 2013. Please see kyleb's id list for a face number.
  6. I don't see his face anywhere either. he's in the roster for 2005, as well as the 2006 and 2007 mods. all of them have a generic face assigned. it's a possibility it's a face that was made and was never completed or released. it happens from time to time. we'll just have to see if jogar can shed any light on it, but that's the best i can come up with.
  7. yep i've definitely done a fister. he's in my last facepack as well as the 2013 mod. stubbs is in there too. pretty sure it was jed. i don't remember gomes though.
  8. thanks for all your work. it's been a pleasure to see your skills improve over all this time. you've reached legendary status for facemakers over the years.
  9. there's lots to learn. easy to forget if you don't do it all the time. i've forgotten probably more than some people have learned about the game
  10. here's the key for the roster dat file: Roster Dat 0 roster_teamid, 1 roster_playerid, 2 rh_roster_al_position, 3 rh_roster_al_battingorder, 4 rh_roster_nl_position, 5 rh_roster_nl_battingorder, 6 lh_roster_al_position, 7 lh_roster_al_battingorder, 8 lh_roster_nl_position, 9 lh_roster_nl_battingorder,; this should make it easier to read.
  11. it takes a little time to figure out, but use the key at the top of each dat file. once you get the pattern, it goes pretty quick.
  12. if you do it this way, you're creating a duplicate player for each person. if this is for the 2013 mod, this is going to be trouble because that roster is already near its limit on players. adding 50 players might send it overboard. only way to truly edit all star teams without duplicating players is to use notepad and edit the dat files. you have to find each all star team's and player's id number in the team and attrib dat files respectively, and edit the roster.dat file to the correct lineups.
  13. to be quite honest with you i got it all mixed up since it's been awhile since i've had to do it. kraw's portrait maker has made it so simple i haven't had to do it the long way for years now. you actually do not need to hex edit it. i was confusing it with editing audio files. kraw also made an audio tool so i haven't had to edit audio files the long way in years either, and completely forgot that i wrote a tutorial on how to edit audio files. after looking back at it, the hex editing does not apply to the portrait files, but you still cannot just simply rename them. what you need to do is actually extract the fsh with nfshtool. then you need to edit the index file with a text editor. it's kind of ridiculous to do it this way since kraw's portrait maker does it for you, and you don't risk corrupting the fsh file. i recommend taking his portrait maker and making the portrait from the bmp files.
  14. you can just rename them except for portrait fsh files--those need hex editing. if you're comfortable hex editing, just do that. if you want to do it easier, use nfshtool to extract the bmp files from the fsh file and use one of krawhitham's portrait maker utilities to pack it back up properly.
  15. in which case you'll need a new disc. when you get them, back them up into image files. there's a few tutorials that show you how to do it on this site so that you don't accidentally damage them in the future.
  16. i don't understand. you said it worked but now need disc 1? if you need disc 1, you'll need to get a new one. but if you had a previous install of mvp and copied it over to a new computer, all you need is disc 2 to play it. disc 1 is only used to install the game.
  17. it's worth every penny. in fact i've always said i'd sell my copy for $10,000. i'lll even autograph it.
  18. don't be so hard on him guys red, as they said you need to get it legally. however, the PC version of the game is portable. if you copy the install folder over to the new computer, it should work just fine.
  19. it's possible, but it takes some work. if you really want to do it, you need to start by familiarizing yourself how to edit a roster with mvpedit, and installing cyberfaces, portraits, and player audios.
  20. first step is to stop using mvp studio. it hasn't been updated in years and can be very buggy. if you want to install uniforms, use TIT. it's quick and easy. name the uniform files to the slot your want, and a bmp of the portrait to the slot you want, zip it up, and install with TIT. it does it all for you. just need to be sure the extension on the bmp file is in lower case.

    Uniform Slots

all you need to do to add a uniform slot is to just a bmp image file named to the slot you want to install it to. zip it up with the uniform files and then install it with TIT and it does it all for you.
  22. use a sledgehammer. smash up the macbook into tiny little pieces and then buy yourself a real computer but really look in the forums. i remember seeing something a really long time ago but i'm not that familiar with mac. will mac run an exe file? i only ask that because mvp is portable. i have it installed on a jump drive so when i go to play it on another computer, i just use the disc on the computer i'm on. another option might be to use a computer virtualization software like virtualbox. you can run windows with it. or this maybe? https://www.microsoft.com/australia/office/mac/virtualpc7/default.aspx
  23. google that message and you should find a solution for it. it's been around even on xp.
  24. pause the game and use your replay options to freeze it where you want to capture. hit the print screen button on you keyboard. paste it in a image file in photoshop or something like it. you can use other programs to do multiple freeze shots too, like fraps.
